A graduate of Barnard College at Columbia University, Jaimie Mackey began her career with luxury event planner Colin Cowie. Jaimie spent years managing and writing real weddings submissions for Brides Magazine and Brides.com. Jaimie eventually shifted to freelance writing and editing, including regularly contributing to WeddingWire. Jaimie took a hiatus from writing in early 2020 as she and her husband focused on starting The Assembly restaurant.

Experience

Following her college graduation, Jaimie interned with Colin Cowie Lifestyle. Jaimie was promoted to Junior Editor and then Senior Editor before being hired as a Real Weddings Editor for Brides. Jaimie worked with wedding professionals as she curated special celebrations to feature in Brides Magazine and on Brides.com. Jaimie then worked behind-the-scenes as a Content Director and Event Producer for Go Bella. In 2018, Jaimie decided to start freelance writing full-time. She has continued to write for Brides.com in addition to WeddingWire, Real Simple, and The Huffington Post.

Jaimie recently branched into ghostwriting, serving as Neil Lane’s writing partner for his book Style Your Wedding with Neil Lane, published by DK Books.

Education

Jaimie received her Bachelor of Arts in French Language and Literature from Barnard College. Jaimie also minored in Religion.
