This historic boathouse is a protected building that has served many generations throughout its history. Couples are welcome to add to the site’s legacy and create unforgettable memories of their own.
This is a private club but we love to meet new people. If you are thinking of us as a venue, please provide a phone number. You will have the benefit of receiving a personal call and gain much information from the convo!
In the process of selecting your date? VERY IMPORTANT.. You and your guests will enjoy better access to the venue if you clear the date of other activity already scheduled for your suggested date. Access to the club is dependent on other pending Drive and River events. Please see boathouserow.org to see what may have already been planned for Kelly Drive and the Schuylkill River.

The Club is part of the Fairmount Park and all visitors must follow the parking regulations. You can also choose to use classic Victorian style trolleys or deluxe motor coaches to transport your guests.
The Sedgeley Club began with a group of Philadelphia women who enjoyed biking and canoeing in the Schuylkill River. After their adventures, they wished for a place to relax, have tea, and store their bikes. In 1887, The Park Commission allowed the women to build around the lighthouse. The boathouse later opened in 1903 where you could store your bike overnight for 10 cents. In more modern times, the site is now used for celebratory events from rehearsal dinners, anniversary gatherings, to baby showers.
