A marriage license in Minnesota will cost you just $40 with a 12-hour Premarital Education course completed, or $115 without. You can apply for the license anywhere in the state, regardless of where you live as long as the ceremony takes place within Minnesota. Both parties applying for the license must be present and the fee must be paid on the spot. Bring valid ID and social security numbers. Minnesota has a waiting period of five working days after applying for the license, but the marriage license is valid for six months from the date of issue.
