Tips and Advice
Here are a few things I’ve learned through the years (while planning and/or attending an event):
Make note of your ideas. So you won’t forget! Jot down any ideas you had for menu, theme, color scheme, etc. Post-it notes are your friends. Use them wisely. Ask for help early on. Sometimes, you can get overwhelmed.. that’s where I come in. Allow me to help you take a load off, so you can focus on your BIG DAY. Relax. Its an event, not the end of the world! Remain in your Happy Place :) Everything will be fine, trust me. In the end, you can sit back & revel in the fact that -- YOU DID IT (and its all over)! Don’t sweat it! Events are made to be FUN. Sometimes, things (and people) don’t always go according to schedule. Either way, have fun! Things will work themselves our in your favor. Don’t let your guests see that you’re frazzled. Giving thanks. Its easy to get caught up in the excitement of the day. Take time to thank those that helped you along the way, as well as those in attendance. If you don’t have time to thank each guests personally, give out "Thank You" cards/notes at then end (or beginning) of the event. You’ll be glad you did. Lessons Learned. During all events (whether you’re planning or a guest), you learn lessons. You learn what you like/dislike. "Next time, lets do carnations as centerpieces -- instead of tea lights" (etc). As long as there IS a "next time", you’re good :)
I hope this helps.
I look forward to hearing from you soon!
