Wedding Cakes in Washington DC

If you've been to Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe you know they are delicious and very affordable. We'd been going for long enough that we'd decided they were our first choice for our wedding cake well before we were engaged. They were easy to work with and our cake was beautiful and delicious. We did a small cake, sheet cake, and their strudel and cookie platters! We knew we'd done well when our planner commented to us that he was so excited we'd picked Heidelberg. Long before my own wedding, I had the pleasure of tasting Sweet Elevations’ cakes at other celebrations, and each time, I was blown away. So when it came time for our wedding, there was truly no other baker I even considered. We selected three flavors for our three-tiered cake, and every single one was delicious. Our guests are still raving about them weeks later. Alicia offers an incredible variety of flavors, and her cakes are consistently moist, flavorful, and thoughtfully crafted. Alicia and her team are some of the kindest, most genuine people you could work with. It’s a special thing when a business not only delivers exceptional quality but is also led by amazing individuals. No detail was ever overlooked. Our cake tasting experience was impeccable, and the delivery on the wedding day was seamless. When I was unsure about the exact design direction, Alicia went above and beyond by providing multiple proposals, guiding us with care, and offering options until everything felt perfect. Even when we added additional cake close to the wedding, she was flexible and accommodating without hesitation. Sweet Elevations exceeded every expectation. I highly recommend Alicia and her team and look forward to working with them for all of our future special occasions.

I ordered a 3 tier wedding cake for my nephews wedding. The flavors were amazing! Chocolate Bavarian, Passion fruit, and Vanilla Bean. I personally enjoyed every flavor especially the vanilla bean flavor. The passion fruit was a hit for some but not others. The cake was most and not too sweet including the fondant. The fondant was one of the best I’ve tried. It was more like a light chewy marshmallow. It was such a hit at our small intimate celebration. Everyone was raving about the cake! The customer service was also excellent and I appreciated the time Alexandria took to call me and go over my order since we were not local and was not able to do any tastings. I preferred to speak with someone vs order online. I definitely recommend this spot for wedding cakes and if I’m ever back in town I will definitely be stopping in to try some of their smaller pastries!

La Marmotta was an incredible choice for our wedding reception. This is the best gelato you have probably ever tasted, and they had so many flavor options for us to choose from. The La Marmotta staff was professional, easy to work with, and prompt in their set up and service to our guests. They set up with a cute gelato cart that your guests are sure to love! We received so many compliments. We would definitely recommend hiring La Marmotta for your wedding!

We are still hearing amazing reviews on the black cake from our wedding guests! Rosie was so lovely to work with - she was such a clear communicator with my mom and truly listened to our ideas. The cake was phenomenal. People were fighting over leftover cake to take home, taking care to fly it home! We can’t wait to work with Rosie again in the future. Thank you so much for making our special day unforgettable!

I have used Vanessa for Father’s Day, birthdays, even for wedding cakes! She is fantastic and her cakes are not only delicious (especially the ones filled with dulce de leche), but are a piece of art! You can even give her a picture of what you want and she would replicate that really well. Vanessa is also very professional in handling her business. She has a lovely personality. Love her cakes! I highly recommend her.

Ahh, M&T Events are top notch, just amazing! These ladies are so incredibly sweet and were easy to work with. Whatever design you want your cake, they can do it. Money well spent in our wedding cake. They are easy to contact, respond well and on a timely manner. Overall experience, 10/10! You know a company is good, when you remember their work from over 10 years ago. They did my older cousins wedding cake in 2013 and I knew they had to do mine in 2025!

Nikki was super responsive and professional. We did a tasting and went over our vision. Our cake was small (50 guests, 2 tiers) and her completed cake was better than we coud have imagined. We absolutley loved the final product and highly recommend her beautiful work!

Melissa's Simply Sweet really was the icing on the cake for our wedding! Melissa was so friendly and open to trying lots of options for our desserts. Her creativity and hard work helped us to have a memorable selection of cake shooters and central cake. It's easy to say that the guests loved all the options because the bride and groom were only able to sneak off with just a slice or two of cake at the end of the night (which may or may not have been eaten promptly the next morning as breakfast). Everyone loved Melissa's creations, and we would highly recommend her for any party or event!
