If you've been to Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe you know they are delicious and very affordable. We'd been going for long enough that we'd decided they were our first choice for our wedding cake well before we were engaged. They were easy to work with and our cake was beautiful and delicious. We did a small cake, sheet cake, and their strudel and cookie platters! We knew we'd done well when our planner commented to us that he was so excited we'd picked Heidelberg. We got an ice cream cake for our wedding cake which is untraditional but we LOVE ice cream so finally found a vendor that was both delicious and great to work with. Tuhin from Carvel was AMAZING! He met us and discussed all of our needs and options and quoted us a price for everything. We wanted something quite specific and was again AMAZING at working with us to make sure we got what we wanted. I provided him with my own cake topper, customized sprinkles that I wanted on the cake, and a few other things. He was extremely flexible throughout the process. I cannot recommend him enough! He also makes all sorts of other baked goods and traditional wedding cakes as well. Tuhin provides excellent service and we got exactly what we wanted for our wedding cake. He was also very reasonable in his pricing. Finally, we had a last minute snag about 5 days before the wedding with our venue and he took care of everything! It was simply amazing!

So thankful for Out of the Box Bakery! My boyfriend is gluten free and I had pinned a number of different gluten free cake recipes to attempt for his birthday. Cooking and baking are not really my forte, so I was super excited and relieved when my coworker let me know that her former coworker opened up this bakery. I ordered a 6" chocolate cake with chocolate ganache icing. It was absolutely delicious and did not "taste gluten free" at all! The business is still very new and doesn't have a storefront, so I had to pick up the cake up at Urban Pantry in VA. As the business expands, I would love to see a cake pick up location in Georgetown or elsewhere in DC! Overall, very happy with my purchase and will buy from Out of the Box Bakery again!

First of all I absolutely LOVE Tressa at Bayou Bakery for the cakes and desserts. I wanted a unique flavor that most of the bakers said they couldn't do and Tressa was able to do it. (Pecan/Blondie flavor) Second, the price was very reasonable and didnt break the bank and cake slices are larger than the traditional slice. We opted for a four tiered cake and 4 different pies and cheesecake brownies and pecan pralines. They have a pecan bacon bourbon pie that I have to say is the best pie i have ever had and will defiantly be going there for my pies. As far as the taste of the cakes, Everyone liked the flavors and they raved about how good the cake was. And the variety and combinations- you name it they have it and if they dont they will try and do it for you. Tressa was also great about the decorations. I gave her a picture of what I had in mind and she delivered!! its was beautiful and such an awesome experience. I recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding cake.
