Where do I begin? I gave Teresa 2.5 stars on everything but the cost because that is what she did… she only put in time on our wedding for half of it, she only responds to you half of the time, she always a half hour late for meetings, she wastes half of your time, she will only be with you on the wedding day for about half of it and she was basically a waste of our money!
Teresa started off just great. She was full of wonderful ideas, helpful hints, and was making the start of planning a lot of fun. Then somewhere along the planning process she just fizzled out and didn't seem like she wanted to really wanted to be bothered any longer with any of it. Teresa never tracked our budget, she only included key things that she was doing for us and leaving the other areas very low budgets or not including those costs at all! We ended up being WAY over! I wish I would have just tracked it all myself from the start. Teresa also must be getting some kind of kickback from booking the people she suggested because we were told by the transportation company when some mystery charge showed up, a week after paying them, they said the wedding planner told them that we knew she had a booking fee and so they had to add it to our bill. Teresa also told us when we booked the photographer we liked that she has never heard anything good about him and that his pictures were not good. I loved our photographer and the pictures are amazing! The one she wanted us to use was also almost three times the cost as ours and her pictures didn't look that much better than what I got. Teresa also didn't like the venue I chose because of the women running it. In the beginning I agreed with Teresa and thought the owner was a little too picky but as time went on Maureen (of Riverdale Manor, Lancaster PA) was the most helpful and wonderful person to work with and with a planner like Teresa I can see why Maureen was so particular about how things should go. Teresa gave Maureen a lot of attitude at many of our meetings, especially one of the last meetings before the wedding but I think Teresa was just mad because she was late AS USUAL and I started it without her. Teresa also doesn’t seem to like it when other professionals would give me an idea or suggestion that I liked better than hers so when that would happen she would get an attitude again, it was just plain rude, embarrassing and unprofessional!!! So besides being late for most meetings and being rude to the other people that we worked with she is also not good at returning phone calls or e-mails. Teresa would also tell me we have plenty of time to figure this or that out but really!? I didn’t book a florist until 10 weeks or so before the wedding!! Our invitations also went out only 6 weeks before the wedding and when I say six weeks I mean that is when they got mailed! Some family members didn't get them until 3 weeks before the wedding which when you plan a seating chart you will see that you really need RSVP's ASAP!! On our wedding day, Teresa was nowhere to be found and never returned my phone calls that day! I didn’t hear from her until right before my transportation to the venue was coming and it was also late! I was ready almost 2 hours before my wedding and was still 20 minutes late because of her lack of communication with the transportation drivers. I also later learned that the venue wasn’t even put together until the guests were arriving! As usual, when confronted Teresa tried to blame someone else and thought I wouldn’t find out but the truth was is that Teresa had to drive home the night before our wedding to do a bunch of things such as programs and escort cards for our wedding the next day!! Those things should have been done by then, she had plenty of time!! So she never returned my calls because she was still driving the few hours back from her office to our venue!! Teresa also talks all this talk about all of her help that will be there for you on your wedding day ... well that is not true! "All her helpers" were just one girl (who honestly is too nice to be working for Teresa) and her SON who wore baggy jeans, a band aid on his face and tennis shoes to our wedding! I never even really saw Teresa on our wedding night and I don't want to ever want to again!
There were so many other little issues that over time really added up I cannot possibly tell you all of them. Please feel free to ask me anything else about the experience and I will be happy to tell you if it will help save you from making the same mistake I did! So for future brides I hope you can find this helpful and you will make the right decision.... Don't hire The Grande Affair!!

Teresa and her team were lifesavers on my wedding day. I didn't have to worry about a thing, they took care of it all, down to the last detail. Teresa helped me plan my entire wedding, she had fresh and innovative ideas which reflected our personalities on the big day. Furthermore, her prices are VERY reasonable for all the work she puts into the weddings she plans. Everything that day was perfect, thanks Teresa!

Teresa was very irresponsible when it came to planning our wedding. She would wait until the last minute to do everything, we constantly had to remind her of things that needed to be done. She did not stick to our budget at all, we had to constantly ask for a budget sheet from her (we have yet to receive the final breakdown of expenses.) Prior to booking with her she mentioned to us that Grand Affair had worked with both our ceremony and reception venues several times; however, we found out through her assistant the company had never worked with our venues. She lied!

Our wedding invitations were incorrectly addressed- we sent her exactly how we wanted to have them address; however, she took it upon herself to address them how she wanted. We had a very formal military wedding and the fact the invitations were incorrect was the beginning of Teresa ruining our special day.
Teresa, waited until the last minute to distribute our wedding day timeline to our vendors. Midnight the night before our wedding our Photographer, DJ, and Cater received the timeline for the next morning. Everything was late or delayed due to the lack of preparation by Teresa. Both our Cater and Photographer told us they would never work with The Grand Affair again.

Two nights before our wedding, Teresa was still trying to get our programs completed and complied. We sent her exactly what we wanted weeks prior and she again took it upon herself to do something else. Our programs were still incomplete and incorrect on our wedding day due to Teresa.
Teresa does not know how to accept her mistakes and take responsibility for them. Our wedding was a month ago and she refuses to return our calls and emails. After our wedding we received the proofs from our photographer and certain pictures we requested to be taken were not taken. After speaking with our photographer about the issue we found out that Teresa never mentioned to her that we wanted certain pictures taken. Teresa was confronted and then she blamed the photographer and said she sent her an email- however, that was a lie too. Our photographer asked for Teresa to forward her the email and well Teresa never did.

Another thing is that my husband’s parents gathered all our gifts and other items from the reception. However, we all got home we were unable to find the top to our wedding cake. We called Teresa and she said she gave it to my husband’s dad-however, he said she did not. Then Teresa changed her story and said her assistant placed it in my in-laws car – but her assistant called her out on it and said no that never happened. Next thing we know Teresa is calling the Cater asking them to create a new cake top for us and told them we lost it. Just another time Teresa lied and blamed others for her mistakes and problems.
So in all Teresa caused our invitations to be addressed incorrect, our budget to exceed the amount we planned for, she cannot provide us with an outline of our expenses, the top of our wedding cake we have is not the original one for our wedding night, on our seating chart she addressed my husband and me with the wrong title, she never finished our programs, the photographer was unable to take pictures we requested because Teresa never told her…o the list can go on and on. Do not hire Teresa or work with the company. Even her assistant quit after our wedding because things were shady and she did not agree with the way Teresa was running a business.

Teresa worked with us for over a year and she really made our planning process less stressful. She is very professional and gave great advice and ideas. We had a wonderful wedding and we owe it to her and her staff. I would definitely recommend The Grande Affair.

Teresa Rivera of the Grande Affair was absolutely WONDERFUl to work with. From the beginning to the end, she (and her staff) went out of the way to ease the burden of "wedding planning" for me and my mother. In addition, the Grande Affair offerred me fabulous discounts on wedding invitations and other wedding accessories. I ordered my invitations and rented linens from the Grande Affair, and couldn't have been more pleased with both the quality and service I received. I would HIGHLY recommend the Grande Affair.

My fiance and I were very organized, so we did most of the planning ourselves, but we hired a Grand Affair for "day of/weekend of" planning services and I'm very glad we did.

Their price for day of services was very competitive, they had very good prices on rental linens and they were willing to go the extra mile to pick up the microphone cord that I left at my house on the day of the rehearsal dinner (which saved my voice... thank you, Matt!). They worked well with our caterer and our site on the day of the wedding. And they also thought of some details that we might have left out (e.g., a nice lacy case to put our glass from the glass-breaking mazel tov moment in). Ilana and Matt (who work with Teresa) were particularly helpful leading up to the wedding.

The one challenge is that we had a bit of trouble reaching Teresa after we initially hired her. We think this may because we just hired her for day of services so maybe she was concentrating on other weddings, but it would've been better for my peace of mind to get these items out of the way earlier. For example, at our first meeting, I asked for an estimate on linens and then asked again that Teresa's associate bring samples and an estimate to our meeting in April. We had to wait for the estimate, though, for about another week and then I found it a little comical that, when we finally got the estimate, Teresa said we needed to make a decision right away because it was just a couple weeks before the wedding.

It all worked out great and Teresa's group is very professional and helpful, so I recommend them without hesitation. I think they are used to working with brides who are less on the "do-it-yourself-er" side, and I can see how they would be particularly great for someone who needs more guidance.

Theresa is a wonderful person, very patient with great willingness to help you out. She had wonderful ideas that I was able to utilize them in my wedding. She provided us with an extraordinary service, very professional, her responsiveness and flexibility were great; she gave us a great relief, which meant less stress. We were so happy with her service. Reasonable pricing - our invitations and napkins looked beautiful, everyone complemented us.
She is highly recomended!

Teresa and her staff at the Grande Affair were absolutely outstanding and i can't recommend them highly enough! She ensured that my wedding day was stress free and allowed me to have fun and not stress with the planning. She literally took care of everything and went above and beyond - she even went shopping with me for my wedding dress. She took care of every detail and I will use her in the future for any type of events i need to plan.

There aren't enough things I can say about The Grande Affair. Teresa, the owner is excellent at what she does. She goes above and beyond what you expect and really takes the time to understand, shape and execute your wedding vision. I was overwhelmed with all of the wedding details before I found The Grande Affair. Teresa put everything into perspective and streamlined the entire process. I don't even remember seeing most of her staff at the wedding/reception but I knew they were there behind the scenes making sure everything ran smoothly and came across perfect. My wedding day was flawless, beautiful, and the most talked about wedding in the family. I owe it all to Teresa and her staff of The Grande Affair. I would highly recommend The Grande Affair to plan ANY event!

Teresa, the owner of The Grande Affair was phenomenal! There was no request that was too small, and none too large. She was available whenever we needed her and she worked wonders with all of the vendors. We planned our wedding for 50 in 2 months and no one would have ever known given the amazing way in which everything came together. My stress level remained low and she made sure that we had the wedding of our dreams. We recommend The Grande Affair 100%, as they made our special day fantastic! Thank you Teresa!!!

We hired The Grande Affair for full planning and are we glad we did! They helped us with everything from finding just the right color bridesmaids dresses to the exact invitations we were looking for. Teresa was our planner and was there every step of the way to offer advice and ideas for making the day special. She was fantastic and saved us so much money. The staff of The Grande Affair did such a professional job on our wedding day, we didn't have to worry about anything. They were very responsive throughout the whole planning process and were always accessible. The Grande Affair was the greatest! Teresa and her staff paid attention to every detail and gave us an incredible wedding day. The Grande Affair was truly amazing to work with. For the cost; I was absolutely blown away by the service. They should be charging five times more for their services.
