History
Erected in 1610, the current structure dates back to the start of the 17th century of French feudalism. Until the late 19th century, the Chapel of St. Louis was the original resting place of the first Marquis de Jalesnes, Charles de Jalesnes and his wife, Eleonore de Maille-Breze. Renovated in 1862 to include some of its signature architecture, the chateau was again restored in 1886. Throughout the years it has acted as a base for royal residents, convent, WWII headquarters, and nursery. The property entered its current form in 2013.
