We recently celebrated our wedding on October 18, 2025, and chose the Marriott Publisher Hotel in Fredericksburg, VA for our stay and room block. It was one of the best decisions we made. From start to finish, the experience was nothing short of exceptional. The hotel itself is beautiful — polished, modern, and thoughtfully designed — but what truly made our stay unforgettable was the team. Every staff member we encountered was gracious, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our weekend perfect. They seamlessly accommodated early check-ins for our bridal party and guests, ensured our welcome bags were delivered without a hitch, and always greeted us with warmth and congratulations every time we walked through the lobby. Our suite was spotless, spacious, and felt like a peaceful retreat amid the joyful chaos of wedding events. Our guests raved about their rooms, the comfort of the beds, and the level of service they received. It felt like every detail was handled with care. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but staying at the Marriott Publisher gave us peace of mind and a luxury experience that amplified the magic of our celebration. We are deeply grateful for the incredible hospitality we received, and we will always remember the way this hotel helped set the tone for a perfect weekend. "Fantastic wedding".! "Wonderful buffet dinner"! "An amazing cocktail hour"! These were just some of the accolades we got for hosting our daughter's wedding at the Marriott at Fair Oaks. From the beginning planning stages to the rehearsal evening and the wedding itself; dealing with our event coordinator, Lucy Warner, was a totally professional experience. It was a smoothly ran event! I had told my daughter to expect hiccups somewhere along the way, but there were none! Ms. Warner orchestrated the wedding flawlessly! In the months leading up to our event, she was always easy to reach out to and our questions were answered promptly. The entire Marriott staff were a delight to work with. The bartender and servers who worked that evening were professional, polite and were always there willing to help in anyway we needed! The food was absolutely delicious! We met our event coordinator and the chef a few months prior to our wedding for a delightful evening of taste testing. The chef explained every dish we were tasting in great detail. It was hard to eliminate one from each category! Our taste testing evening was topped off with a plate of mouth watering cookies for dessert. It took me only a second to decide to order several dozen of these wonderful in-house baked cookies and brownies for our wedding. What a hit they were!! Those cookies/brownies flew off the plate! A week after the wedding and I'm still hearing so many rave reviews that this was the best wedding ever. Honestly, I owe this wonderful evening for our daughter and new son-in-law to Lucy Warner and her team at Marriott! Thank you all so much! Ms. Warner and her staff at Marriott, truly exceeded our expectations! I would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced venue in Northern VA to please check out the Marriott at Fair Oaks! You will not be disappointed!

We got married in the fall of 2024 at the Omni Shoreham and it truly was a beautiful venue. We selected the Omni because of the outdoor spaces, the ease of having food & beverage through the same people as the venue, and our love of the back garden for the ceremony. We chose the blue room for our reception, which was a great space and felt separate from the rest of the hotel. Omni does all the catering and bar services in house which made things simple for us -- the food was amazing (we still have guests tell us how good it was)! Omni will try to upsell you parts of their package so definitely keep an eye on what items are in the base package and what upgrades will cost. With that in mind though, all of the Omni staff, chef included, will work with you on figuring things out that might not be technically in their offerings -- just ask and they will help figure something out! The only hiccup we had is that Omni's in house event coordinator ended up leaving part of the way through our wedding planning process. It was a bit difficult to get a new point of contact from Omni and even through our wedding they had not hired a full time replacement. Because of this there was a little chaos in the planning and coordination but overall I would highly recommend Omni as a venue!

My guest really loved the hotel. The location gave them plenty of things to do without having to drive.

As soon as we visited, it was pretty clear that The Tabard Inn was the right place for us to get married. The attentive staff, great restaurant on-site, and distinct decor made it ideal for our wedding of 45 people. Daniel, the Director of Catering and Community Liaison, worked closely with us to iron out details from start to finish at every level and to tailor the experience to us; he was truly essential to our wedding day. Because Tabard is majority employee-owned, there’s a lot of flexibility in customizing the experience without a lot of red tape. We booked the patio for the ceremony and rooms 24 and 26 for the reception.We didn’t even need to get a wedding cake since dessert was included in the three-course plated dinner. The Tabard staff was very efficient in the setup and in moving from room to room. The waiters and bartenders were all very personable and professional, and the whole evening flowed very easily for us. We look forward to going back to the Tabard for dinners on special nights and for brunches.

I booked this venue initially because it was a massive venue for an amazing cost. The catering was so amazingly priced per person as well and as you all know, weddings get expensive really fast so I feel like we got a good bang for our buck with their prices. We worked the past few months with Michelle as our main contact point, and I can’t praise her enough. She was so patient with my 5000+ emails and questions and answered so quickly. She last minute even finagled better and very beautiful, more elaborate tablecloths for my event. Michelle even participated with the rehearsal and helped coordinate that as well as with the ceremony the next day (which was above and beyond for what she needed to do). She made my wedding feel personal, and not just like another wedding. Rene, the banquet manager, and the rest of the staff were also beyond amazing! They worked tirelessly the whole day before setting up and then the night of my wedding. I couldn’t even begin to nitpick anything wrong with them. We are beyond grateful to have chosen this venue and would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a venue with a large space and amazing workers. I think they’re renovating the space next year so it’ll be even more amazing!

We had such a great experience working with the Westin Georgetown team. The pictures online do not do this venue justice, it is absolutely stunning and it’s great to have the flexibility of different spaces to hold different parts of the wedding. We were very lucky with the weather on our special day and were able to use the courtyard, which was gorgeous and our guests could not stop commenting on how beautiful the hotel and spaces were. We really enjoyed working with Jordan and her team. The food was excellent. We appreciated the chef’s willingness to work with us on some special guest requests and the service was impeccable! The value was amazing and we would highly recommend to anyone consider considering! The presidential suite was also a perfect place to get ready and made us feel like superstars. 10/10!
