Blue Moon Rising on Deep Creek Lake

We had our wedding at Blue Moon Rising and can not say enough good things about the staff and the property. Rob, Whitney, and Ox were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They helped facilitate the wedding of our dreams by being extremely flexible and through all of their hard work on the big day. The woods were a perfect place for our wedding, and it was so nice to have all of our best friends staying on property with us for the weekend in their wonderful cabins. While we picked this place specifically for our wedding, we are excited to come back as regular guests. All of the cabins are really nice (and it’s cool how they are each different and unique) and it’s such a nice way to unwind in the woods. But the location is also super convenient, just a few minutes’ drive from the main restaurants/shops/attractions in Deep Creek. This is a nice place to stay at any time of the year and we can’t wait to come back.

We had our wedding at Blue Moon Rising and it was a dream come true! We were able to spend the entire weekend with our closest family and friends. The staff here help make it a wonderful experience. They made it so easy to communicate with them leading up to the big day. The natural beauty this location has to offer is unmatched. Our wedding day was beyond perfect from start to finish. We cannot thank BMR enough and we cannot wait to return to celebrate our anniversary for years to come.

I couldn't imagine a better wedding venue! My husband and I got to come up on Wednesday and have the venue to ourselves that day. Then the rest of our family and friends came up Thursday and we got to all stay at the venue together until Sunday. 48 of our closest family and friends were able to join us for our wedding weekend. It was absolutely magical and intimate. I had dreamt about getting married at Blue Moon Rising for many years and it exceeded all of our expectations. I had always dreamt of a woodsy wedding and this was it! Absolutely perfect. Wish I could do it all again!

We got married at Blue Moon Rising on September 7th and I cannot say enough good things about this place!! I’m so happy we decided to get married here! First off, the venue itself is just beautiful. I loved the setting for the ceremony and reception in the woods but also being close to the lake. Everything the entire weekend was perfect. We hosted a welcome gathering on Friday evening, our wedding on Saturday and a brunch on Sunday. The staff at Blue Moon Rising went above and beyond to accommodate us during our entire stay. They were extremely helpful in getting the venue ready for the wedding. They made sure everything looked perfect and also helped me with setting up when I needed to hang something or needed a ladder. They were always available to shuttle us and our guests around in the golf carts. All of the staff were very friendly and followed through on everything we asked of them. All of the guests loved the cabins and many said they hope to come back one day. Also, Rob and Catherine are so wonderful to work with. They are so kind, friendly, and always pleasant. It felt that they truly cared about us and our wedding and made us feel at home at Blue Moon Rising. We love this venue so much and we can’t wait to go back to visit and relive our wedding day!

Not 5 stars, not 10 stars, this venue deserves at least 20 stars! This is the most fabulous place to hold an outdoor wedding. If you want a place offering community, on site housing for many guests and wedding party members this is the place for you. It feels like you take a little piece of heaven and you are served by angels ( Blue Moon Risings Staff) for an entire weekend. It may seem expensive but when you consider you can easily spend this much money in a wedding & reception that gives you maybe 5 hours this is a great deal. We had an entire weekend from Thursday till Monday Morning 11a.m.
What helps to make this place so wonderful is the terrific staff: manager, Rob Vanderbilt; Catherine Miller, head wedding planner; grounds men, jack of all trades will do anything for you- Sean & Ray ; & office help do anything you need, Brittany & Crystal is the staff that will do everything and I mean everything to make your wedding weekend or any weekend wonderful. I cannot praise this staff enough. When the clouds opened up and we were blessed with glorious rain this staff jumped in and got the guests where they needed to be so we could continue to party the night away.
The tepees were an unusual twist which were large enough to hold 90 guests for cocktail hour and for the open bar.
The outdoor chapel area is a glorious place to be united in holy matrimony. Covered in green foliage on a June day little decorating needed to be done. It is up to you just how much you might want to do.
If you want turn back Bed service, maid service, and tv this is not the place for you. If you want a cozy cabin or " little house", family entertainment, read a book, play a board game or play cards with clean surroundings, cozy towels and comfortable beds-this is the place for you.

I can't begin to explain how amazing this location is! The beauty of the nature surrounding the location for the ceremony and reception leaves with very little need to decoration. I am planning to have both my ceremony and reception at the same location, which I feel makes it easier and less of a hassle for myself and my guests. The best part is... when you book Blue Moon Rising as your wedding venue, you get all 14 of their "tiny house" inspired cabins from Wednesday through Monday morning! We plan to have our out-of-town guests and guests of honor stay with us and keep the party going. This also gives me plenty of time for decorating, setting up, and cleaning up after the event. Most wedding venues I looked at were more expensive and for only one day! This is a great deal when you consider getting your ceremony, venue, and places to stay all wrapped into one price. I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a laid back, nature inspired, outdoor, woodland wedding!
