Up to 180 guests can be accommodated for a special occasion here. Outside, love birds can express their love and commitment in the Formal Gardens or the Butterfly Garden. Meanwhile, Smokehouse and Lakeside Tent, the Pavilion, Heritage, Market, and Airlie House offer covered or interior spaces for a couple’s nuptial event.

History

Airlie House was founded by Harry Connelly Groome in 1899. The original structure was lost to fire and constructed again in 1924. Both the house and the surrounding gardens have for the most part been preserved. In 1961, the estate was transformed into Airlie Center and earned the moniker, “Island of Thought.” Here, activists met to promote positive change for civil and human rights. To this day, the estate serves as a gathering place for numerous activities, while also functioning as a working farm.
