July the 18th was our big day. I cannot express how great our experience was at The American Hotel. Michelle Annese (venue manager), and her assistant went above and beyond. I could write a whole page of details on how she put her heart into making sure my day was magical and stress-free. With weddings being stressful enough, then we added Covid-19 into the mix. Many precautions were in place and Michelle even sanitized the bathrooms on a 20 minute cycle on top of everything else she did. Another plus is the charm of this venue allows minimal decorations as well. Best prices in comparison to any venue around our area. Again another bonus... the location of this building allows for beautiful photos at our local train station dock and bridge. I also want to mention the owner Margaret, although there was never a face to face due to her living location, she was very kind in our email conversations. There was no problem when we had to cancel our orginally date and reschedule due to the pandemic. No regrets on our choice, 100 percent satisfied!!!

We couldn’t of selected a better venue to fit our wedding. It was the best option for us. Not only was the octagonal barn stunning, the museum has so many places to take wedding photos. The Irish Farm has a stone bridge and we took our first look photos and wedding party photos there! The staff was on point and was there to help any way possible!! My husband and I would recommend this venue to anyone!

My husband and I had a lovely wedding at Hotel 24 South. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, and Kristina was the best help! They were very flexible and offered us a beautiful wedding in our budget. The ballroom where the ceremony and reception were held and the hotel rooms are very beautiful. I definitely recommend having your wedding there!

Gaie Lea was the perfect backdrop for our 75-person wedding in June 2025, and we recommend it in the strongest terms! It’s a gorgeous, well-maintained property where you are surrounded by natural beauty at every turn – valley views, ancient trees, a tranquil lake and more. This was the last venue we toured during the planning process, and we knew it was the one as soon as we laid eyes on it. The location was amazing, putting us minutes from downtown Staunton and I-81, but also providing the sense of privacy we wanted for our celebration. We loved having our close family stay with us at the main house for the weekend, which was well-stocked and had room for everyone to gather without feeling cramped. The architecture of the home was beautiful, and it was complemented by the thoughtfully curated vintage decor throughout. We had our ceremony on the lawn by the house, and held both our rehearsal dinner and our wedding reception at the lakeside pavilion. Being able to use the property for multiple days made setup and cleanup incredibly smooth, and allowed us extra time to enjoy being with our loved ones. The owner, Liz, is lovely and always a pleasure to chat with. She answered all of our questions in a timely manner, and offered insights and advice that helped us take full advantage of the venue. We are incredibly grateful to Liz for sharing Gaie Lea with us and hope to return for another family stay in the future!

Wow, this is a very special place! That is all I heard the entire time during the weekend of our wedding. Not a lot of people had heard of the Blackburn Inn, so the guess didn’t really know what to expect. Our guests were absolutely blown away with this venue.. The grounds are just so beautiful, very well kept and maintained. The Inn itself is a historical gem. I absolutely love incorporating pieces of history in events like weddings that symbolize a new future so it meant alot to me. Outside of the Inn’s rich history, it was recently renovated to build onto the historic beauty with a few more modern elements and it is gorgeous inside and out. They have a great little bistro inside that serves delicious food. My husband and I had an amazing breakfast English muffin that really started the day of our wedding on the best foot possible. We hosted our rehearsal dinner in the penthouse suite where my husband and I stayed for the duration of the weekend. That penthouse was everything and more. It was a little boho, a little industrial, a little historic, a little modern and very much me. That’s another thing I heard a lot that weekend, that the Blackburn Inn was very much my aesthetic. I agree with them as I did feel in my element there. I’d say we had between 15-20 people at the rehearsal dinner and we all fit perfectly and it created a private, intimate setting. We weren’t cramped at all and the food and service was absolutely amazing. They recently built a conference center on the property that allowed them to have a full kitchen and service staff and I was very impressed by the food and service we received during the rehearsal dinner. Everyone was full and happy and we ended the night upstairs on the patio of the penthouse. That patio was beautiful, it had a great view of Staunton and the grounds at the Inn. We spent a lot of time out there just enjoying the views and weather. Our wedding went perfectly! We got married in front of the inn in between their lovely fountains on their walk way that served as a built in aisle. Our reception was held under a tent on their grounds a short distance from the ceremony space. This was perfect as people had somewhere to go that was away from the ceremony space so we could use it for photo ops without people wandering in the background. We were allowed to use outside vendors for our food and bar, and we really appreciated that accommodation because some venues require you to use their preferred vendors or not allow any outside vendors at all. Everything was amazing, the Inn, their grounds, the penthouse. I couldn’t have wished for a better day or a better venue!
