Moss Vineyards is a beautiful wedding venue in Albemarle County, Virginia. This vineyard has one of the best views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, with spectacular scenery of the vineyards in the foreground. It is the ideal venue for couples who want to be surrounded by expansive, natural beauty and architecture. Coupled with the vineyard ceremony space, Moss Vineyards provides an elegant indoor reception venue, which can be custom-designed to suit your very own wedding style.

Facilities and Capacity

Moss Vineyards sits 1,000 feet above sea level, making its views unparalleled by other venues in the Monticello wine region. This venue provides a stunning backdrop for wedding photographs, especially for couples who love the mountains. Moss Vineyards offers expansive outdoor space, as well as a covered pavilion. The new indoor event space houses the reception hall, bridal suite, catering kitchen, and restrooms. The event room is best suited for up to 120 seated dining guests or more for family dining in the adjoining room. The tasting room and the pavilion can also be used for cocktail hour, additional seating, or evening dancing. The tasting room and patio spaces can be used for cocktail hour or appetizer serving stations during your event.

The Wine and Cider at Moss Vineyards continues to win awards every year. Couples may choose their wine and cider for their event.

Amazing experience!

Barry and Ellen are literally the sweetest people and were very responsive to all my questions during wedding planning, and trust me I had a lot of questions. I loved that they let me drop things off the day before and pick things up the day after since they only allow one wedding per weekend. They also provided a list of vendors they have had good experiences with but you can also find your own vendors. Their venue is well taken care of and beautiful and I am so glad I chose Moss as my wedding venue! I also really liked that it came with chairs and tables. I removed the picnic tables and rented some cocktail tables for cocktail hour. Truly amazing experience.

We still can’t get over the views

We had to reschedule our wedding 3 times due to COVID. The owners were amazing and understanding through the whole process. This was one of the ONLY venues we visited where it was clear they cared about sticking to your budget and helping you throw the best wedding. Great views, great wine, beautiful reception space and such a relaxing environment. We are so thankful Moss was the space we picked for our wedding day.

Gorgeous views, tasty wine, good people

Moss Vineyards has the absolute best views of any vineyard in the area. They're up on the side of a mountain, so you get breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge and valley. Our guests couldn't stop gushing about how beautiful our ceremony location was! The wine is delicious, and the different spaces (lawn, pavilion, tasting room, and event hall) made it so that we could move seamlessly from one part of the evening to the next. What's more, Barry and Ellen are lovely people. We had to postpone twice due to COVID, and they were so accommodating, flexible, and kind. We truly feel like they went above and beyond to help us make our wedding day possible! I'd highly recommend Moss to any couple.

Best views in all of Charlottesville area!

From the moment we got out of the car at Moss Vineyards, I knew it was our wedding venue! The views are unmatched- I can’t tell you how many of our guests commented on how beautiful the venue was. On top of the stunning venue, Barry and Ellen were amazing to work with. They are extremely laid back and eager to help. We had to change plans due to covid and they made the whole process so easy. They were helpful and flexible with the wedding weekend, allowing us to drop stuff off leading up to our big day and changing the overall room plan when rain hit. The overall vibe was just what I wanted- Moss vineyards made us at home and made our day extra special.

Stunning views!

Moss vineyards quite simply has some of the BEST views around. Also, the venue itself is very modern and completely aesthetically pleasing as one of the owners is an architect. I must have sent a million emails to the Moss family while trying to navigate COVID and they were always so helpful and kind. I highly recommend.

Hidden gem

This place is such a hidden gem, but my guess is that it won’t be for long! We had the perfect day here. The scenery provided such an incredible and breathtaking backdrop for our special day. Our guests could not get over the view. We had our ceremony under the pavilion just at sunset and it was incredible. It was such a game changer to be able to set up the event space the day before. The owners, Barry and Ellen are the sweetest and are so helpful and accommodating throughout the whole process. Would recommend a thousand times over.

The views are stunning. I could really just sit up there all day and look out over the valley and the mountains. We had great weather, but I think even with the rain it would have been beautiful. The new building is really nice and we lucked out with the weather so we were able to have dinner in the building and dance outside under the pavilion. We had 90ish people at our wedding and this was a nice intimate space for that number of people. Barry is really easy to work with and wants to make sure you have everything you need for your big day. I definitely recommend this venue.

Breathtaking views, great value

We had our October wedding at Moss Vineyards, and it was an absolutely stunning place to get married, especially if you’re looking for a venue for under 75 people. The venue itself is gorgeous, with sweeping mountain views that led to truly breathtaking sunset photos. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful everything was. Ellen and Barry were a pleasure to work with and were very flexible, both with our vendor choices and with allowing us access to the venue on multiple days to drop off and pick up supplies, which made logistics so much easier. They also recommended our photographer, who we loved working with.

Overall, the experience was fantastic and we’re so glad we chose Moss. One small note for future couples: there was a bit of confusion about when the tasting room would close on the day of our wedding (a Saturday), so I’d recommend confirming that detail in advance. Even with that minor hiccup, Moss Vineyards was an incredible venue and we’d highly recommend it.

Excellent!

In an area of Virginia that’s exponentially increasing in demand for wedding and event venues, Moss Vineyards is still a hidden gem (even for locals). The views are breathtaking and it was a dream setting to have our wedding. Barry and Ellen are great to work with and made the planning process feel like we were coordinating with friends. The venue is accommodating for other third-party vendors and offers many options for setting up your event. Our friends and family can’t stop talking about the views and sharing their pictures with everyone they know. We also love the wine! Moss should really be at the top of anyone’s list who is looking to do a wedding or event around the Charlottesville area. Before long, the secret is going to be out and they will be booked many years in advance. Check it out today!
