Wedding Venues in Richmond

Was researching in Virginia the best wedding venue, April 2024 and came across this venue. Went to the venue that spring, and literally fell in love with the modernism look but just how beautiful everything was… From the landscape…… To its views… And literally just a venue was clean and modern looking. The team that works, there was amazing to work with. We are gay male couple, and one of the hesitations was just this political climate of being refused services. This venue not only respects us, but made our wedding day perfect. They responded to our communications right away and made everything happen. No complaints at all no feedback for them to improve… Just amazing all around. Worth every penny. Literally the best wedding venue in town… Do not waste your time going to the Jefferson Hotel or Main Street station wedding venue… This is literally the best venue in Virginia. Our wedding was on March 29, 2025.

If you’re reading this review- you have to book Common House for your wedding! We had the best experience and amazing wedding at Common House. The process from the beginning was smooth. We met with Caroline first who gave us a tour of the venue and we fell in love. We had our ceremony in the Courtyard (outdoor area) and then had our reception inside. It looks small from the outside but trust me- it’s so much bigger inside and beautiful! We had 115 guests! Alize was our point of contact throughout the wedding process and she was AMAZING. I would email her a list of 10 questions and she responded within the day, answering each question. They accommodated our guests who had dietary restrictions and allergies. We even had a last minute adjustments after everything was due- and she worked with us to make our dream wedding happen. The FOOD was our most talked about topic! All of our guests are still raving about how the food was amazing and the best wedding food they have had. The staff members were professional, organized, and attentive! I could not recommend this place enough!

The Jefferson is a gorgeous hotel and the guests that were able to stay there had a wonderful experience. They sent champagne and chocolate strawberries to our room on the wedding night and made every accommodation for dietary restrictions at my bridal luncheon in the library. Our only complaint is that we were told it would be easy to add rooms to our block as needed but the hotel was fully booked 6 months in advance and many guests struggled to find accommodations on a very busy weekend in Richmond.

Highly recommend getting married at this wonderful venue. The foliage, the grounds, the estate itself- all absolutely stunning. Don't even get me started on the food! A Taste of Elegance catering team knows exactly what they're doing; We're getting compliments on the food that was served months after the wedding. Also a huge shoutout to Brittany, who kept us well informed and looped in during the planning process, and for ensuring our wedding went off without a hitch. Highly, highly recommend!

Richmond was our son and his bride's choice for a destination wedding - most of their friends and family had not been to Virginia - it proved to be a superb choice! From the moment we contacted the staff at the Boathouse at Rockett's, Landing any concerns we had about planning a rehearsal dinner long-distance evaporated. All of the communications by phone, email. or in-person with Bonnie and Alli, were prompt, clear, and efficient. We benefitted from their many years of experience because they immediately understood the vision for the evening and made excellent suggestions of how to host a formal rehearsal dinner followed by a welcome gathering for all guests. Bonnie and Alli suggested ways to keep our event within budget. Our son is a "foodie" and numerous of the guests had dietary restrictions. Chef Josh, through Alli, worked closely with us to modify the ingredients in ways that allowed guests to safely have the maximum number of options. The wait staff asked each guest about any dietary restrictions, as well. One guest, who is vegan, said it was the best meal she had ever had. Kudos to all who prepared an excellent dinner that allowed us to showcase the finest of Virginia cuisine. The timing of the rehearsal, which was held outside at Maymont, was delayed because of rain. Any concerns I had about decorating the venue, evaporated when I was met at the door by the coordinator for the evening, Eddie. He, Sheila, Amy and Max totally "made it work" by enthusiastically helping us decorate the tables with items we provided. Our son arrived and kept saying that the room looked "magical" - exactly the woodland decor he'd imagined. The staff's genuine warmth and attention to every detail, allowed us to relax and thoroughly enjoy the evening. Their suggestion for the timing of the parent's reflections and toast allowed the wait staff to seamlessly take orders, the couple's playlist was attended to without hesitation, and the bartender, Max, listened to the presentation and brought the goblets of champagne for the bride and groom, on cue. No detail, too big or small was overlooked. I wondered how we would clear the venue in half and hour. Again, not to worry, the staff, was incredibly helpful and efficient. I have planned dozens of events during my career, and can truly say, the staff at the Boathouse at Rockett's Landing were the very most professional, caring and fun of any I've worked with. No doubt everyone from out-of-state (and country) left the rehearsal dinner and welcome gathering, understanding what Southern hospitality means. Thank you!!

Our experience with MaryBeth Bunge and her incredible team at the Omni Richmond was nothing short of exceptional. What began as hosting only our cocktail hour turned into a last-minute decision, less than two months before our wedding, to move our reception to the Omni as well. MaryBeth and her team welcomed the change with such grace, professionalism, and warmth that it immediately put us at ease during an otherwise stressful time. From start to finish, the service was truly top tier. MaryBeth is an absolute joy to work with, responsive, kind, organized, and genuinely invested in making sure our day was perfect. She and her team went above and beyond in every way, even navigating and supporting us through working with an extremely difficult outside vendor. Their patience, communication, and professionalism in handling the situation exceeded all expectations. I could not imagine a team dealing with it any better. Our wedding day was seamless, beautiful, and unforgettable, and so much of that is thanks to the Omni Richmond team’s dedication and care. If you’re considering hosting your wedding at the Omni, I cannot recommend it highly enough. They made our experience extraordinary, and we are endlessly grateful.

I cannot speak highly enough about the Richmond Marriott staff—they did an outstanding job and even exceeded our expectations. My bridesmaids, mom, and me got ready for the day in a holding room downstairs, and the hotel staff provided breakfast pastries and mimosas, in addition to sandwiches prior to the wedding in the afternoon (we requested these things and received a quote without any issue!). There was plenty of space to get ready with 8 bridesmaids. The staff is so responsive—we didn’t hire a wedding planner so my mom had a ton of questions in the few months leading up to the big day, and every question was promptly answered with great detail. The food was delicious, and the cocktail hour hallway and reception ballroom were such classy and elegant areas to host guests. All of our guests were so impressed by the Richmond Marriott—some even said this was the smoothest wedding they’d ever attended. It’s hard to put into words the amazing job that the Richmond Marriott staff did, but I 100% recommend this venue to everyone without hesitation. You can’t go wrong with this hotel and it’s hardworking staff! You will be in the best hands.

Growing up I always knew I wanted to get married at Main Street Station! When we walked in, we immediately fell in love! The Headhouse architecture is STUNNING and simply speaks for itself! Crystal, the venue manager, helped to answer our many questions and was extremely flexible and accommodative through the whole wedding process! I got married at John Marshall Ballrooms in May 2026, and it was truly amazing! The JMB team was wonderful to work with throughout the entire planning process and on the wedding day itself. They were responsive, flexible, and genuinely cared about making our day special. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful and feels so different from a typical wedding venue. The food from their in-house caterer, Homemades by Suzanne, was also delicious, and we received so many compliments from our guests about it. After touring venues all over VA, I can confidently say that JMB offers more support and flexibility than most places we looked at. They really go above and beyond to help make your wedding day everything you want it to be. I’d absolutely recommend JMB to anyone looking for a beautiful city venue and a great team to work with!
