Through the construction and pandemic, Shelby has been so great to work with. She helped us during our walk through of the building (still under construction) to imagine everything, telling us ideas of where things go, what she thought and providing our floor plan already - SO EXCITED to continue to work with the Common House-Richmond and Shelby!

If you’re reading this review- you have to book Common House for your wedding! We had the best experience and amazing wedding at Common House. The process from the beginning was smooth. We met with Caroline first who gave us a tour of the venue and we fell in love. We had our ceremony in the Courtyard (outdoor area) and then had our reception inside. It looks small from the outside but trust me- it’s so much bigger inside and beautiful! We had 115 guests! Alize was our point of contact throughout the wedding process and she was AMAZING. I would email her a list of 10 questions and she responded within the day, answering each question. They accommodated our guests who had dietary restrictions and allergies. We even had a last minute adjustments after everything was due- and she worked with us to make our dream wedding happen. The FOOD was our most talked about topic! All of our guests are still raving about how the food was amazing and the best wedding food they have had. The staff members were professional, organized, and attentive! I could not recommend this place enough!

Common House was an absolutely perfect venue for us. We chose it because of the multiple beautiful spaces, responsive team members, and all-inclusiveness that simplified some planning on our side. None of those things disappointed.

We hosted a two-day event and used several of Common House's spaces. Each room is so well-curated that minimal decor is needed to make it perfect.

Alize was incredibly helpful and always there to answer our many questions (despite the fact that we were asking some of them over a year in advance). As the event date got closer, she was so on top of every detail. If we sent an email with 10 questions, she would answer them all line by line.

Weeks later, our friends and family are still raving about how incredible all of the food was and how kind and attentive the staff were. Several guests had some specific dietary needs, and they were extremely accommodating. We also had a some guests who don't drink, and the bar was prepared with non-alcoholic beer and an incredibly tasty lemonade option that could be enjoyed standalone or as a mixer.

Booking with Common House made the entire wedding planning process so easy. They do all catering and bar services in-house, so that was one less vendor I had to worry about researching and booking -- plus the food is DELICIOUS. The space itself is so beautiful and set up nicely already, so I didn't feel the need to buy a ton of decor. Everyone we worked with was delightful, and my husband and I felt so well-taken care of on our wedding day, as did our guests! Alize especially was so helpful and responsive. She answered all of our last-minute questions leading up to the wedding day, and made sure we were always aware of what was going on, how the spaces would be set up for the ceremony and reception, and was just generally SO on top of everything. Common House truly runs events like a well-oiled machine, so on my wedding day my husband and I were able to fully relax and enjoy the day without worrying about a thing. We were able to have our ceremony out in the courtyard with the roof open like I wanted, but they have an excellent rain plan in case of inclement weather so I never needed to stress about that "what-if". I could not be happier that we chose to have our wedding at Common House!

Alize and the team at Common House Richmond made sure that our wedding was the most incredible night of our lives. Alize made the planning process so much fun and she worked her magic to make sure wedding day was flawless. Her team was so kind and made sure my husband and I were always having the best time, the food was absolutely out of this world, and the venue itself is just stunning. I could not recommend this place enough. I wish we could do it a million times over!!!

We had our wedding at Common House a few weeks back in November and it was perfect! The Common House staff are incredible. Liz and Alize were so helpful throughout our wedding planning process; they answered emails promptly, were flexible when we made changes to timelines, had strong attention to detail, and were overall a joy to work with. The staff on the day of our wedding were all so kind and attentive as well! Our guests kept remarking on how nice everyone was towards them. Our food was amazing - it all tasted fresh, warm, and exactly how it was at our tasting - as were our signature cocktails and other drink selections. Common House was also attentive to our guests who had food allergies/dietary restrictions and made sure they were accommodated too - a few of them thanked us specifically for having those options available. The venue itself was perfect for what we wanted on our wedding day! Common House’s location can’t be beat and it is a great value for what is included in the rental. We were able to achieve the autumnal dinner party wedding of our dreams and can’t thank the Common House team enough!

Worked with Liz Arline for over a year during the planning process and she was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout. We also loved all of the staff that we worked with during the tasting and the day of the ceremony and reception. The quality of the food, cake, bar service, and staff support exceeded our expectations and we got a lot of compliments from friends and family about the food especially. It's such a unique venue and near nice hotels which allow many guests to avoid worrying about additional transportation.

We also loved the photos we got around the venue. The library, the restaurant, courtyard, and rooftop all make for fantastic photos and the venue was so flexible with us using any of those spaces to take pictures.

My only regret with this venue is the size of our guest list. We ended up having 135 attendees and it felt REALLY tight. During the ceremony, the front row was about 2-3 feet from the altar so it was impossible to get any photos of us at the altar without getting guests in the pictures. My family was seated on the left side (behind bride) and they said they couldn't see my face at all because of how closely they were seated to the front left. Dinner was another tight scene and we had a few guests complain about how little space they had.

Definitely still a 5 star review overall. They will not disappoint on being accommodating and providing everything you need across food, alcohol, cake, and service. Thank you for an amazing day!!

My husband and I wanted a welcoming and unique wedding venue that was not a traditional ballroom and that had style/personality. We were feeling like giving up on wedding venue searching until we finally came across Common House in Richmond. From initial touring, to tastings, and the big day, Liz and the Common House team hit it out of the park. Their customer service is top notch and everyone we encountered throughout the wedding process was helpful and welcoming. A huge benefit of Common House is the beautiful interior spaces. We had rain so we used them thoroughly. The food and drink was incredible and we got many compliments from guests. Their wedding package allowed us to get so much from just one vendor point of contact (a big perk!). Thanks so much for a great day and one of our favorite new memories

Common House Richmond exceeded our expectations. Liz and Elyze were both so incredibly helpful during the planning process and our tasting. Liz received so many emails from me and she was gracious and kind when answering my questions. Elyse was present during our tasting and helped us think through food and wine details for the day. She was honest about what would work best in the space. She was also present on the day of and was easily accessible but was also clearly busy working behind the scenes. The staff was a fun bunch that were on point the entire evening and always a step ahead of what we needed. The chefs were eager to try new things when we requested items that were off the menu. Their execution on the day-of was flawless. The venue has such great character, is fun and the amenities are modern. The flexibility of having the rooftop over the courtyard was so important for my day where the rain was on and off. The roof was quickly retracted when the sun came out, but was put back up when the rain started. The day after people could not stop talking about the service, food and the uniqueness of the space. I would not change a single thing about my experience and am so happy that we chose Common House to celebrate our big day.

I can't say enough great things about having my wedding at Common House. Working with Liz Arline made this such a seamless experience. She was super responsive, helpful, comforting, and just a really awesome person. Her perspective and attitude is exactly what you need when planning a wedding. Our wedding weekend ended up being the weekend of Hurricane Ian and Liz came to me with plan A, B, C and D. Common House is great because there are options for any and all types of weather. No matter where you choose to have a ceremony or reception, your pictures will be stunning because of how beautiful the venue is. The food is also top notch. Loved being able to do a tasting beforehand. I received so many compliments on what we served for appetizers and dinner, as well as the wait staff. We went for the family style option and it was so fun. If you're looking for a unique, picturesque venue with delicious food and incredible service, Common House is your place! My husband and I loved our experience here.
