With onsite accommodations for up to 54 guests, Montfair is the perfect destination wedding location.
Imagine a ceremony with panoramic mountain views, a reception in a spacious event lodge set among a canopy of trees, dancing under a tented deck and finally an evening bonfire on the lakefront. Montfair is a relaxed, one of a kind venue that can be customized to each couple’s unique taste. With over 129 acres of woodlands, guests visiting this serene venue can enjoy hiking and biking trails, canoeing and fishing or immerse themselves in the vibrant cultural heritage that Virginia has to offer.
As members of the International Ecotourism Society, reducing waste, using eco-friendly products, and protecting the environment are all prioritized by this venue. The staff here are dedicated to helping couples plan their events and are always available to offer advice. They are devoted to ensuring that you feel right at home on your big day.

The best venue!
Moreover, (arguably most importantly!) the venue itself is simply stunning. Our friends and family have routinely commented to us since the wedding that the venue was a true showstopper; my dad also commented that he could feel why the location was so magical, ultimately prompting our decision to select Montfair as our venue. One of the highlights for us (and for our guests) was the ability to stay overnight on-site. Being surrounded by our family and friends the night before the wedding, and not feeling rushed to leave after the celebration, made everything feel so much more relaxed and special. Unlike other venues with strict time limits (that IMO add a lot of stress to the event), Montfair gave us the gift of time—time to soak in every moment, celebrate without stress, and create memories we’ll cherish forever. Two of our friends have since commented that they plan to seek similar venues for their wedding where you are able to stay overnight, as it really changes the vibe of the event for the better and just makes it so special.
If you’re looking for a venue that combines beauty, flexibility, and an exceptional team, look no further than Montfair. We can’t recommend it highly enough!
Late November Wedding
Beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces for a wedding weekend!
We booked the whole site (the lodge as well as all the cabins) for a long weekend in the summer and it was beautiful. We were able to have an outdoor ceremony at their field overlooking the mountains. We had the cocktail hour, dinner, and reception on their spacious deck, air conditioned lodge, and down by the lakeside. It was great to have both beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces to use throughout the weekend. The bonfires on Friday and Saturday nights were definitely a highlight.
The cabins were clean, cozy, and had everything our guests needed. The Beauchamp house was spacious and perfect for the bride getting ready the morning of.
We primarily spoke with Victoria up until the big day. She was very responsive and gave us a clear idea of expectations. At no point did we feel like we were being upsold, which is something we were afraid of when it comes to wedding planning. The staff was very helpful, as they prepare the space to your specifications each day.
Overall everything was beautiful and they fit our vision perfectly.
