Best day ever

If we could give Montfair Resort Farm more than 5 stars, we absolutely would.

From the moment we toured the property to the moment we drove away as newlyweds, everything was beyond what we could have imagined. The venue is breathtakingly beautiful, with stunning mountain views, peaceful lake scenery, and the most charming rustic elegance that made our wedding feel like something out of a dream.

What truly sets Montfair apart, though, is the people. Every interaction was met with kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. They made the entire planning process feel seamless and stress free, always willing to answer questions and help bring our vision to life. On our wedding day, everything ran flawlessly, allowing us to be fully present and enjoy every second.

Our guests are still talking about how beautiful the property was and how special the entire experience felt. The cabins were such a wonderful bonus, giving our family and friends the opportunity to stay on site and continue celebrating together throughout the weekend.

Montfair wasn't just a wedding venue but it became part of one of the most meaningful weekends of our lives. We are incredibly grateful for the memories we made there and would choose this venue a hundred times over.

Beautiful setting for an outdoorsy wedding

Montfair Resort Farm was the perfect choice for our outdoorsy fall wedding. Victoria offered invaluable advice in the build-up to our wedding, whilst the rest of the team helped to create a super friendly and warm environment for our friends and family over the weekend’s celebrations. With a lot of family travelling from overseas, the on-site cabins helped us to create a cosy and warm atmosphere in the days leading up to our wedding, and we loved being able to utilise the different spaces the venue has to offer from the Lake, fields, and lodge. When the weather didn’t play according to plan on our big day, Montfair’s staff flawlessly executed our rain-plan, which surpassed all expectations and allowed for an intimate ceremony, still surrounded by the beautiful nature of Montfair. We can’t recommend Montfair enough!

Tucked away mountain oasis

Montfair was the first wedding venue my husband and I visited and we immediately fell in love with it. Private, understated but very well kept up, naturally gorgeous, and diverse in its landscapes, Montfair allowed us to create an experience that felt worlds away and truly magical. We held our ceremony down by the pond and guests could watch the sun set over the changing trees and water as they had drinks. The lodge feels intimate and cozy at night; the dance floor was expansive and welcoming; and guests who wanted fresh air could enjoy the bonfire Enjoying time with our families who stayed in the cabins the next morning was a special bonus. The team is resourceful and warm. This is a precious place!

Perfect venue for our wedding!

Montfair was the perfect venue for our wedding! It was so wonderful having our friends and family stay on property for the weekend. The ceremony sight was stunning, cocktail hour by the water was serene, and the deck offered plenty of room for a rockin' dance floor! Beautiful Venue

Montfair did a fantastic job as the venue for our wedding. They had great options for where to have the ceremony, to items to use for the ceremony. We met with the Montfair team a couple times before the weekend and they were clear and always answered any questions we had. It was also very meaningful that our friends and out of town family were able to stay in the cabins on site. The venue just felt like home for a weekend and it made all the difference. Also, it goes without saying if you've been there, the view is absolutely beautiful.

Dream Wedding Weekend

Montfair Resort Farm gave us the wedding of our dreams and allowed us to have it all within budget ! From our initial visit to packing up after everything was over, the team at Montfair was incredible helpful, accommodating, and welcoming. By the end we felt like family. What we loved most about Montfair was the flexibility to customize the wedding weekend to how we wanted! We rented the venue for the entire weekend and was able to execute our camp getaway wedding to perfection.

Incredible Venue

We had our wedding at Montfair Resort Farm this past summer, and it was truly the most beautiful, magical setting we could have imagined. From the very first visit, we fell in love with the natural beauty of the property—the mountains, the lake, and the peaceful, private atmosphere created the perfect backdrop for our celebration.

The team at Montfair was wonderful to work with throughout the planning process. They were responsive, flexible, and genuinely invested in helping us create the day we envisioned. On the wedding day itself, everything ran so smoothly, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we felt cared for and relaxed.

Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the views and the atmosphere—it really felt like an intimate getaway for everyone. Having the option of on-site lodging made the experience even more special, since friends and family could spend the whole weekend together in such a gorgeous place.

We’re so grateful we chose Montfair Resort Farm. It’s a venue full of natural charm, warm people, and unforgettable memories. We would recommend it to any couple looking for a stunning and stress-free wedding venue in Virginia.

Beautiful, relaxed time at Montfair!

We are so glad we chose Montfair as our venue! We did the "Destination Wedding" package and loved having whole property to ourselves and getting to spend so much extra time with our guests. Even though amplified music has to stop at 11pm, it was so fun to be able to keep spending time with everyone since the venue was ours for the full weekend. The setting is absolutely gorgeous. We didn't even know the lake would be covered with waterlilies on our wedding day!
We got married in June 2025 and did have to move our ceremony under the tent due to rain, but still got wonderful pictures in the ceremony field before the storm and by the lake after.
We are huge foodies and we loved being able to pick any caterer for the venue. Victoria and her team were wonderful to work with. All of the onsite staff for the weekend were kind and helpful. Montfair is truly a special place.

Morris-Rogerson Wedding

Montfair Resort Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding! Victoria was our main contact throughout the planning process--she was thorough, resourceful, patient, and flexible, ensuring that we had all planning holes filled leading into the final month. Dave was super helpful in preparing the venue grounds each day, and Robin Anne seamlessly integrated the tiki lights and bonfire into each evening. We booked a two-day weekend at Montfair, which allowed us to hold the rehearsal and set up for the reception the day before. The addition of the permanent tents, lighting, and games allowed for simple decorative touches, for a formal, yet comfortable, feel. The weekend started with a groomsmen canoe race and ended with s'mores by the bonfire! Between the mountain views and the lakefront with the bonfire, family and friends continue to compliment the natural beauty of Montfair! We got married early August 2025. With it being summer, we were worried about the heat; however, the tents/tree cover offered the perfect amount of relief during the cocktail hour/reception. We could not have asked for a better venue to make our weekend perfect!

Most genuine venue!!

Montfair Resort Farms was the most well-rounded venue. We had our wedding in June 2025 when there were flowers in full bloom, trees with full green leaves, gorgeous views, and surprisingly not many bugs. Victoria was our go-to contact with the venue. She was attentive, proactive, sweet, and full of wisdom. Being a first time bride, Victoria helped guide me through all the questions I should ask and the times when plans need to be decided. She was genuine and very clearly wanted us to have our dream wedding (which it was). I cannot express enough how grateful I am for Montfair. Our guests enjoyed having the lake nearby with lawn games to play. It was also a great venue for a wedding with kids!! We would love to come back for a weekend away in the cabins.

An incredible haven of a farm!

We were so lucky to have chosen Montfair as our wedding venue. From the first time we stepped foot on the grounds, met the staff in the welcome cabin, and took a look at the critters, trees, lake, mountains views, we knew we wanted to get married here. It is a truly unique wedding venue outside Charlottesville - convenient to hotels and Airbnbs (everyone stayed within 30 mins), disconnected from city chaos, and with enough cabins to house most of your close friends (family members may opt for more luxurious stays).

The Montfair team went above and beyond to help us add DIY elements to our wedding and create the atmosphere for guests that we wanted.

We were able to stay by the fire until close to midnight on Friday and they lit a fire for us on Saturday too but people were too busy dancing to enjoy it!

This venue is so genuinely beautiful on its own that you don't have to dress it up much or add to much more to it.

Thank you for such a spectacular weekend and lifelong memories!

Beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces for a wedding weekend!

Montfair Resort Farm was perfect for our weekend wedding away from it all! We wanted a place where family and friends could stay on-site and have a whole weekend to relax and celebrate, and Montfair was perfect.

We booked the whole site (the lodge as well as all the cabins) for a long weekend in the summer and it was beautiful. We were able to have an outdoor ceremony at their field overlooking the mountains. We had the cocktail hour, dinner, and reception on their spacious deck, air conditioned lodge, and down by the lakeside. It was great to have both beautiful outdoor and indoor spaces to use throughout the weekend. The bonfires on Friday and Saturday nights were definitely a highlight.

The cabins were clean, cozy, and had everything our guests needed. The Beauchamp house was spacious and perfect for the bride getting ready the morning of.

We primarily spoke with Victoria up until the big day. She was very responsive and gave us a clear idea of expectations. At no point did we feel like we were being upsold, which is something we were afraid of when it comes to wedding planning. The staff was very helpful, as they prepare the space to your specifications each day.

Overall everything was beautiful and they fit our vision perfectly.

This venue is special

We feel so lucky that we were able to host our wedding at Montfair Resort Farm. We got married in June 2024 and had roughly 50 attendees. Our goal was to deliver a whimsical outdoor experience while spending as much time as possible with our guests. Montfair was THE perfect venue to execute our vision. The on-site accommodations ensured that everyone was nearby and able to mingle all weekend. Guests loved the clean and cozy cabins and spent their downtime swimming, fishing and canoeing in the lake.

The venue itself is gorgeous. From the ceremony field to the reception area to the cabins to the surrounding woods, you’ll want to drag your photographer all over the property. There are unique and special photo opportunities everywhere you look. The venue is also well-equipped to deliver your dream wedding no matter the weather - the main gathering area consists of a beautiful lodge, massive covered deck, and a picturesque lakefront area next to the actual lake.

Victoria made both the booking and planning process painless for us. She was responsive to questions and easy to communicate with. She had great recommendations for how to make the most of the venue for the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, breakfasts, and more. She provided a list of local vendors, shared ideas from previous weddings, and made great suggestions for how to keep our guests fed all weekend with nearby markets and restaurants. The rest of the venue staff was welcoming, friendly, and available whenever we needed anything. They anticipated our needs and were quick to make a few last-minute adjustments due to an untimely heat wave.

We cannot recommend this venue highly enough!

We couldn’t be happier having our wedding at Montfair!

We couldn’t be happier having our wedding at Montfair. We were looking for an outdoor venue in the mountains, a reasonable distance from an airport and hotels, and with a tented reception area where we didn’t have to rent our own tent. Montfair was everything we could have hoped for and more! Victoria was on top of things from the start. From the intro call, to answering many emails and questions about vendors, to the walkthrough, to making sure we were set for the day of, Victoria was wonderful. Everyone in the Montfair office is also incredible - I called the office many times with little questions and they were always helpful and kind. We can’t imagine a more beautiful location for the ceremony with the mountains in the background and the reception near the lake - you can tell it’s close to Shenandoah National Park! It was also wonderful to get to sleep in the cabins at Montfair the night of our wedding - it was so peaceful to wake up near the lake with the birds chirping the next day. A dream wedding weekend

We got married at Montfair in mid-April, and it was everything we'd hoped for and more. We wanted a summer camp vibe, where many of our guests could stay onsite all weekend, explore the natural surroundings and minimize time in transit. Montfair absolutely hit the mark. From our initial communications and visits, Victoria and the Montfair staff helped us plan out our wedding weekend, answering questions promptly whenever they arose and helping us work through many of the small-yet-important details.

We had about 140 people at our reception and also hosted a rehearsal dinner and three more meals for 50+ guests, each requiring a slightly different configuration of tables and furniture -- and the staff was always two steps ahead of us. Our wedding day was beautiful (clear blue skies and warm weather) though quite windy, and Victoria and the team helped us make the quick decision to bring down the clear tent walls in the morning to protect our table settings and keep our guests comfortable. During the weekend, our friends and family joined us for a trail run and nature walk, and guests took advantage of the canoes, tennis and basketball courts and bikes. Cabin accommodations were excellent, and staff was available and helpful in case any surprises arose.

We're so glad we chose to have our wedding at Montfair, and we cannot recommend it enough.

Highly recommend

We fell in love with this venue online then once we arrived on site we knew it was the one. They are so easy and nice to work with plus you can stay on site if you’d like. Their cabins are so cute and fully stocked. There is so much todo on the property and they are not far from breweries/wineries, etc. Our wedding was absolutely perfect at Montfair and we can not rave enough about this place and people!

Best place for destination wedding.

I found this venue to be the best place for our wedding that we could have asked for. The ability to have close friends and family stay on property was one of the most attractive features. The Mountain Views are spectacular. Everything was very well put together and ran seamlessly. Victoria is there for any questions and will help to the best of their abilities. I can’t wait to visit again!

Best weekend of our lives!

Choosing Montfair as our wedding venue was one of the best decisions we made during the wedding planning process! The property is naturally stunning; we barely decorated, and we received numerous compliments from our guests about how gorgeous and serene it was. Having our closest friends and our dog stay on-site with us added an extra layer of joy to the whole experience. Our guests had a great time swimming, canoeing, biking, hiking, and playing yard games over the course of the weekend. The staff was delightful to work with, especially Victoria. She promptly answered all of our questions and was patient and helpful when we encountered issues during the planning process. Our guest list was on the larger side and the staff handled it with ease. We couldn't have asked for a better venue to make our weekend perfect.

Wonderful venue

My daughter had her wedding at Montfair in July 2023. We looked at other outdoor venues but hands down this was the place that my daughter and her fiancé knew was the right place to host their wedding. From the moment we drove past the ceremony field with the mountain view, she knew this was it.
They wanted a venue that would allow them to have family and friends stay on site, and they wanted a beautiful but relaxed setting that had the quintessential Virginia mountain views. Montfair was perfect. In addition to the park like setting, there is a lodge with a large tented deck that can be used as a back up for bad weather. Luckily we had perfect weather, typical hot summer, but the natural beauty of the setting and the relaxed and fun atmosphere was all we needed.
Victoria was extremely helpful in vendor selection, and how to manage a wedding weekend. She was always available to answer questions and give us advice. The groundskeepers made sure the grounds were ready for our weekend, going the extra mile. Everyone was kind and helpful
My daughter's vision for the wedding was "rustic elegance" with a relaxed and fun filled weekend with family and friends. Montfair delivered on it all. If you are considering an outdoor wedding give Montfair a look. You won't be disappointed.

Beautiful place for a fun wedding!

My daughter chose Montfair after looking at numerous venues that were either too formal or too rustic. Montfair was that perfect balance of the beauty of the outdoors in the Virginia Blue Ridge, and yet providing comfort for our guests from accommodations, to air conditioned spaces, and ample parking. We rented out the entire resort with the cabins for the family and wedding party and made a weekend of it. Rehearsal dinner, wedding day breakfast, wedding, reception, dancing and evening bonfires--everything was absolutely perfect, and guests had a very nice time. All of the staff was super helpful. They also had a helpful list of vendors who also ended up being the perfect match for what my daughter and her fiance wanted.

Beautiful Venue and Amazing Staff!

We are so unbelievably happy that we chose Montfair as our venue! We booked it for one of their weekend packages which allowed many of our friends and family to stay with us for the whole weekend. All the staff at Montfair are amazing to work with and the accommodations are so comfortable and relaxing. Montfair was the only venue we toured because we loved it so much immediately! The venue is beautiful and so much fun. All of our guests were raving about what an amazing venue it was. You will absolutely love Montfair!

The Best Wedding Venue!!!

Montfair was the PERFECT location for our wedding! After doing some research online, this was the only venue we scheduled to tour, and I told my fiance if the property looked as nice in person as the pictures, this was where I wanted our wedding to be, but if we didn't like it we could elope. As soon as we drove up the driveway, I started crying because it was even more beautiful than the pictures. From the gorgeous mountain scenery, the amazing deck and reception lodge, the adorable cabins around the peaceful lake, and the walking trails, it had all the things we wanted and more...we were sold! We chose the "wedding weekend package," so we had our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the lodge the night before the wedding, and many of our friends and family were able to stay on the property with us. They even have space for tent and RV camping, so some of our guests camped as well! The staff was so helpful throughout the whole planning and preparation process, and we loved that they were open to any vendors we wanted to hire, so we were able to plan a celebration that was uniquely "us." We ended up with less than ideal weather conditions, between rain all Friday night and Saturday morning, followed by high speed wind gusts Saturday night, but we lucked out with sunny skies for the ceremony and pictures! The wind kept us all nice and cool for dancing on the deck during the reception, and we still got plenty of compliments from our guests about the dreamy mountain setting. Thank you Montfair for making our wedding weekend absolutely magical!

Incredible venue with so many offerings

Hosted our wedding in April 2023 at Montfair and it was incredible. From the start of selecting Montfair as our venue we loved the mixture of spaces and views that it offered to us. When it all came to life and our guests got to experience what we had been planning and be part of all the different spaces it was just magical. It offers the classic Charlottesville views with the blue ridge mountains in the background, the green pastures, and fence lines, and then feelings of nature under the trees, the lake, and the covered deck space and lodge were excellent for having indoor and outdoor offerings. It was the perfect mix of spaces and a relaxed outdoor vibe that we were going for. Our guests were wowed by it all. We booked the entire weekend so we had events Friday and Saturday, our friends stayed in all of the cabins, and we stayed in the main Beauchamp House with our dog. It was all perfect and highly recommend booking the full weekend if you can - for the price and value it's unbeatable. Other venues we considered would have been the same price for just 8 hours on Saturday that we paid for the entire weekend. Working with Victoria and the Montfair team was fantastic, we got lots of great ideas from her and they were open and accommodating to what we wanted.

The best, most stress-free experience!

The best venue!!!! My husband and I booked this venue the day after we got engaged without having ever seen it in person based on a recommendation from a trusted friend. They were initially already booked for the year, but they took a chance on us and let us have Thanksgiving weekend-- the latest wedding they've done in a given year. It was everything we could have asked for and more. We had friends coming in from all over the world, so having the cottages on site was absolutely perfect. We had the rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and send-off brunch all in the same location. It was extremely convenient. The location is absolutely stunning-- the mountains provide a perfect backdrop, and there is a gorgeous lake for waterfront photos. The bridal suite is perfect for gorgeous getting-ready photos. The team at Montfair is the greatest part of all. These are the coolest, most down-to-earth folks in the wedding business, a very rare gem. We were able to choose our own vendors, and the team at Montfair was always there to answer questions from myself, my husband, our friends and families. They were always so kind and helpful. Magical venue and the best staff

HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE! Montfair was the most incredible venue we could have asked for. Our guests were wow'ed by the beauty of the property and it was so wonderful to have our wedding party stay in the Montfair cottages with us. There are so many thoughtful/unique touches (pictures in canoe, Japanese lanterns, bonfire) and the views are incredible. We loved the flexibility of being able to bring in our own vendors and they even allowed us to bring in Indian dance group! Montfair made sure the whole weekend went perfectly. Victoria was so incredibly helpful throughout our wedding planning process and went above and beyond to make sure we had all our questions answered. The staff at Montfair were all so helpful and kind. They made sure that the chairs/games/bonfire were all set up as we asked. Seriously, get married at this magical place! We can't wait to come back and stay in the cabins again to relive our wedding weekend!

Perfect choice for our fall wedding!

Montfair was the second venue we toured and we knew fairly quickly that it was a great fit for us. We wanted a venue that brought in nature but wasn't fully outside, and also wasn't fully "rustic" (just not our vibe). Montfair fit that bill beautifully -- we loved having the option to have our ceremony in the field surrounded by the fall colors, or down by the lake. We opted for the field, but also made use of the lake space by utilizing their bonfire. Our guests also loved the venue for its beauty, space, and the bonfire too. The inside of the event lodge (where we had our reception) can be decorated in so many ways, it's a very versatile space and ended up being exactly what we were looking for. Our wedding was around 60 guests, so we had lots of options (the field, the lake, the lodge, and the large tented decks). Highly recommend this venue! (There are also on site accommodations, including a house we were able to use to get ready in. This is a huge plus for those who wish to get ready on site and who might have family coming in from out of town! It was super convenient for us!)

Relaxed Wedding Weekend Package

I cannot say enough good things about Montfair after our magical wedding weekend. Our original date was disrupted due to the COVID pandemic in 2020. Monfair let us postpone the celebration until 2022, with only a modest increase in the price (to keep up with inflation and market rate). Not every vendor was allowing couples to postpone, and we were grateful for their flexibility.

Weekend Wedding Package: We booked the weekend wedding package — including cabins for our families and out of town guests. This was our largest expense, but the most worthwhile because it allowed for a more open schedule. We looked at other places in the area — breweries, vineyards — all had strict time and space limitations. We ran late, had complete run of the place and the freedom to make decisions that worked for our budget/needs. As I see it, we had a whole weekend experience for basically the same price as a nice hotel banquet space for 5 hours.

Staff and Service: Victoria and the staff at Montfair were at our service from start to finish. They answered questions, helped us think through planning needs and ensured we could execute our vision. They always responded in a reasonable time and did extra leg work to get answers if they did not have them. During the event itself I always had a point of contact ready to troubleshoot. Every staff member was incredibly attentive, kind, and organized.

Space and Materials: Montfair has ample spots for photos highlighting the surrounding natural beauty — an overlook, a small lake, fields, lighted paths. They have a huge tented and lighted deck, already set-up for heaters. The Lodge itself is just what you expect, beams and high ceilings, a huge fireplace, and completely decked out in fairy lights. We also felt like we got a lot of great stuff included in our package that would be additional expenses at other venues: chairs for ceremony and reception, banquet tables, and a beautiful wooden bar and gifts table. The Lodge is equipped with a spacious catering kitchen that we used all weekend. We also took advantage of the bonfire and lawn games both nights.

Distinguishing Factors: We picked Montfair because they were very clear about supporting marriage equality, environmental preservation, and other causes close to my heart. In a region dotted with Trump signs and banquet rooms named for Confederate generals, we were SO HAPPY to find Montfair because we wanted our money to reinforce our values.

Stop Looking - Get Married Here! Dream Venue

Look no further - get married here! Montfair Resort Farm is the absolute dream site to get married. We just got married this past weekend and I cannot stop looking at pics. It was a stunning location, and our guests were in awe.

From the moment we set foot on the property I fell in love. It is absolutely gorgeous, with sweeping views of mountains and beautiful scenery with trees and wildflowers. This is an oasis of beauty and tranquility. What we loved the most was how it had the most epic views, but had such a low-key vibe. My vision for my wedding was if Backpacker Magazine and Vogue had a baby. That’s what I wanted. Gorgeous nature setting with elegant touches. If you are into nature and the outdoors this is where you should get married. We had a stunning ceremony with the most amazing weather in August. The cocktail hour and reception was awesome outside and on a gorgeous deck that was tented with lights (this comes with the venue and they don’t charge extra!!). We had a small wedding of 50 guests and our kid guests were obsessed with the lake, hopping in the canoes and catching fish as their parents enjoyed wine from the deck watching them. We had a bonfire, and it made the whole event just feel so special. Every interaction we had with Victoria at Montfair was spectacular. She is a clear communicator, and is so genuine, authentic and friendly. She truly wanted to help us, and let our weekend be “ours.” Our close family and bridal party loved being on-site in the cabins. She let us use any vendor we wanted, helped make recommendations when we asked, and made our guests feel special. We are just blown away by this entire weekend and site.

Stop looking, get married here.

One last note! The first time we went to see Montfair, we had scheduled 2 other venues to look at on the same day which were wineries. We saw Montfair, met Victoria and loved it. We left and went to a local winery. As soon as we pulled in I knew I didn’t want to get married somewhere like that. It felt like a cattle call. They basically handed us a schedule of what our day-of-timeline would be and nothing was personal. As soon as we left that site we called Victoria to see if we could come back. She kindly said yes, we went back and secured our wedding date and weekend.

For around $9,500 we had the ENTIRE property from Friday at noon to Sunday at 3! It was so awesome. Our guests loved walking around, eating breakfast, and just not feeling rushed to get shuttled from one place to the next.

Dream Celebration Weekend!

Victoria and the entire events team at Montfair Resort Farm are truly amazing. My husband and I were married in a very small ceremony in January 2021, but wanted to plan a belated wedding celebration with all of our family and friends for when he returned from a military deployment. We found Montfair through a Google search, as we knew we wanted to host our celebration in the greater Charlottesville area but wanted a venue that allowed outside food and beverages, as we had dreamed of having pizza and wanted to use a family connection in the beverage industry for drinks/alcohol. Montfair Resort Farm was the first and only venue we visited, not simply because of the beautiful and unique grounds (where else can you find a gorgeous ceremony field AND a cozy, rustic lodge overlooking ample grass for lawn games, as well as a calm, clear lake? Not to mention on-site accommodations for all of our HUGE wedding party of 26, plus our families!), but also because of our amazing tour with Victoria. Although Montfair does not have an official on-site wedding coordinator (they do provide day-of event supervisors), Victoria goes above and beyond; she was always available during the 15 months from booking to our event, very much functioning as a coordinator in helping me plan our special weekend. She asks the right questions at the right times in the planning process to ensure your weekend is everything you'd envisioned - and in our case, more than we'd hoped for! - because she really cares about her couples. Both of our families, as well as most of our guests, have been gushing about how awesome our wedding was, many citing the amazing venue as the best they'd ever been to (which is especially notable since our guests came from all over the country). While I am so happy to have enjoyed such a wonderful day, I am going to miss emailing and meeting with Victoria, as she is not only amazing at her job, but an amazing person. LOVE this venue.

We chose Montfair for our June 2022 wedding and we couldn't have been more happy with our decision. We wanted a place that we could rent for the entire weekend at a reasonable price in a beautiful natural setting, Montfair delivered. We received so many compliments on the venue from guests!

We had such an amazing wedding at Montfair! As if the venue, location, and VIEWS aren’t enough to make Montfair worth it, everyone we worked with there was incredibly nice, supportive, and helped make our dream wedding come true! We felt so supported by the staff, especially Victoria who was always available to answer our questions leading up to and during our wedding weekend. Everything you need, nothing you don't!

We loved having a wedding weekend at Montfair. We had stayed in one of the cabins before, and it was the first place we looked after we got engaged. We appreciated how up front they were about pricing and what was included, the list of recommended vendors, and all the photos to help us imagine our day. The staff is friendly and experienced. Montfair gives you a wedding in nature while still being comfortable - we loved that we could include on-site accommodation for about 35 guests. The indoor and outdoor space changes to suit your needs - casual Friday dinner gives way to classy Saturday reception, and the expanded deck has plenty of room for dancing, excess seating, or as an alternative ceremony site if there's rain. Our guests could really relax and enjoy themselves. Even with cold spring temperatures, we could put up sidewalls, order tent heaters, and have Montfair light the fireplace in the lodge. The setting photographs well, too! It feels like sleep-away camp for grownups, and gives your guests with kids lots of options to stay active, too. Victoria offered a lovely tour before we booked, and a venue walkthrough with the planner and caterer one month prior.

Stunning, rustic wedding venue with an incredible staff!

We celebrated our wedding at Montfair in March, and we could. not. imagine a more beautiful weekend! From the initial venue tour that completely put hearts in our eyes, to the conclusion of our incredible wedding weekend, Victoria Sours and the rest of Montfair's staff went above and beyond for us.Victoria helped us choose vendors, structure our weekend, and navigate any and all questions and requests. She kindly helped remind us of deadlines to keep things flowing, and always communicated promptly. When it came to the big weekend, Montfair made the cottages look so welcoming, and the lodge was beyond beautiful. When we were hit with crazy weather, they were adaptable and helped us take the right measures to make people comfortable. Montfair delivered everything we asked for and more as a wedding venue, and we're so thankful to Victoria, Isla, and the rest of the staff. The stay at Montfair provided a refreshing escape for our guests and THE most memorable experience for Sam and me! We recommend it with all our hearts!

Montfair is the perfect wedding venue

We had our wedding at Montfair in August 2021 and it was just absolutely perfect: it is a gorgeous setting but also very laid back and with lots of space for our guests. Victoria and the rest of the Montfair staff were incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, from visiting Montfair (all the way back in December 2018!), to postponing as a result of the pandemic (our original date was scheduled in June 2020), to working out all the details leading up to the final date. We really couldn't have asked for a better place to get married!

Montfair is Awesome

We had our wedding at Montfair and we also rented out all the cabins and stayed there along with our bridal party, families, and guests. We absolutely loved everything about our wedding at Montfair. From our initial communication with Victoria (the event manager) all the way to the multiple visits we had, final walkthrough, and our wedding weekend everything was great. They communicated with us really well. Cabins were nice, and the Beauchamp House was such a delight to get ready in. But most importantly, that amazing view! Despite the rain on our wedding day, all guests commented about the amazing mountain views and how the lodge was so sweet and cozy. We would absolutely choose Montfair Resort Farm any day.

Beautiful, warm, welcoming wedding venue!

We added Montfair to a list of possible venues in Charlottesville but as soon as we got there, we were ready to cancel all our other tours. Victoria was an absolutely wonderful venue guide and she even put out photo books of other same-sex couples who had used the venue, which made us feel so welcomed. Once we got to planning, she was readily available to help with vendor recommendations and venue details. Our wedding at Monfair was the most beautiful weekend we could have imagined - the entire staff was friendly and responsive, the cabins are cozy and wonderful, and the venue is just all around gorgeous. Getting to have all our wedding events in the same location from Friday to Sunday made things so easy on us, and really made us feel like we picked the right venue. Plus, our guests loved being able to stay on-site, the mountain views, and the outdoor activities (especially the bonfire!). We couldn't recommend it enough!!

The best venue!!

We had the absolute best experience getting married at Montfair Resort Farm and could not have asked for a better venue. We were supposed to get married here a year ago, but due to COVID we pushed it back to 2021, and throughout the entire process of planning and replanning, etc. the staff at Montfair has been nothing but supportive, flexible, and understanding. They were quick to respond via email or phone whenever we had questions, and incredibly accommodating in every way. And that's just the beginning of why we are so thankful we got married here. The pictures don't do justice how beautiful this venue is. Between the mountain views and the lake and the beautiful forest that surrounds it, it was just the most beautiful day. We also loved that our bridal party and family could stay at the venue, which was not only just convenient, but so much fun! We can't say enough how perfect our wedding day was, and we can't wait to come back to stay at Montfair as guests in the future!

Montfair is absolutely perfect for your special day!!

Our wedding weekend at Montfair was absolutely amazing! So happy we went with the Friday-Sunday package to celebrate our marriage! Words can't even describe the experience we had with Montfair. From our first visit, all through the planning process up to the big weekend was wonderful!! Everything about the venue was perfect and the location itself will leave you and your guest speechless! We loved the new deck addition to be able to fully utilize the lodge space and the old deck as our dance floor. The canoe filled with ice and drinks was an amazing addition as well! My husband and I used the A frame house and the Beauchamp House for our wedding party and our guest stayed in all of the cabins!

Thank you Victoria, Aelia and all the other Montfair staff who made our wedding everything we asked for and so much more! If you are looking for a beautiful country mountainside wedding weekend with an even more incredible staff, Montfair is the place for you!!

Perfect for our non-traditional wedding!

Montfair Resort Farm was the PERFECT venue for our weekend destination wedding. We opted for the destination package, which gave us access to the Lodge and all the cabins for the whole weekend and it was absolutely the right choice. It was so nice to have all of our family and wedding party on-site for the entire weekend, and we were able to spend so much more time together than we would have at a more traditional venue. Victoria is the best -- she is organized, flexible, and responsive -- and the rest of the staff was incredibly helpful in making sure our vision for the weekend was achieved. As an LGBT+ wedding, we were concerned with selecting a venue that would treat us like any other couple, and every single person at Montfair showed us nothing but love. Montfair really was the perfect venue for our laid back, casual wedding weekend.

Beautiful Wedding Venue With Tons of Flexibility

We had a smaller, intimate wedding with friends and family, and had the property to ourselves Friday through Sunday. Our wedding was everything we hoped for, and we couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect location - every spot on the property is absolutely beautiful. The drive to the venue is also lovely and scenic (we had our guests download directions ahead of time and nobody had issues getting there).

The venue itself is wonderful. We had our ceremony outdoors, with a mountain backdrop, and our reception indoors/outdoors, at the lodge. There was something for everyone. You could stay inside the lodge, move out to the deck, play lawn games, enjoy the bonfire, look out over the lake, go for a walk, or just catch your breath in your cabin. It was the perfect mix of options and activities to bring people together for an idyllic weekend, no matter the personality type. If you’re looking for a stunning, outdoorsy venue with a lot of flexibility, this is IT!

Victoria worked with us before and during the event and helped make planning and preparation easy. She was calm, organized, and supportive throughout the entire process! We would highly recommend Montfair to anyone looking to get married in the Shenandoah area!!!

The perfect wedding venue

Montfair was an absolutely perfect venue for our Memorial Day Weekend wedding! We rented out all of the cabins for our families and close friends and hosted our rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, and farewell brunch on site. The staff at Montfair were amazing and accommodated all of our wishes, from working with us on multiple planning visits to setting up both outdoor and indoor fires (it was unseasonably cold for the rehearsal dinner). Victoria also kept in regular contact with us through the winter and spring as the pandemic regulations evolved.

Aside from its natural beauty, what really set Montfair apart for us was the ability to have the entire venue reserved for the weekend. For the same price, if not less than, we would've spent for five hours at a local vineyard, we had all of Montfair available for our use from Saturday afternoon through Monday morning. This allowed our families to spend the entire weekend together, which made the occasion even more special.

Amazing Wedding Venue

I can honestly say that having our wedding at Montfair was the best decision my husband and I could have made! The moment we pulled up to the property, we just knew this is where we wanted to get married. The views are absolutely breathtaking no matter where you are on the property. We rented out the venue for the entire weekend so we could enjoy it to its fullest – canoeing, swimming in the lake, hiking, sitting around the bonfire and relaxing.

Montfair allows so much flexibility to plan out exactly what you have in mind for your big day. The staff, especially Victoria, went above and beyond for us throughout the planning process. My husband and I planned our wedding during COVID, and we also had a hurricane threat the weekend of our wedding. I didn’t have to stress out about any of that because Victoria made so many great recommendations to ensure my vision would still come to life, regardless of what hurdles were thrown our way.

My husband and I are already planning to spend our anniversary back at Montfair, and we look forward to doing that for years to come. I would recommend Montfair to anyone couple looking to plan their perfect wedding day/weekend!

A venue that feels like home

Montfair Resort Farm was the only venue we looked at. From the moment we pulled in, we knew it was where we wanted to get married. First with its beautiful views, and then we spoke with those who work there who instantly felt like family. It felt like home.

Many of our guests asked how we found such a place, and we are still hearing how beautiful and perfect it was. Everyone fell in love with it just as much as we did. Montfair was more then I could have ever imagined for our wedding, and I can't wait to return for anniversaries, family reunions, and simply just any chance I get.

The perfect peaceful, outdoorsy venue

Montfair absolutely nailed it! It is a low-key, down-to-earth venue surrounded by nature that is rustic but still appropriate for a wedding with a beautiful backdrop, just enough amenities, and experienced, professional staff. We rented the cottages on the property for guests to stay, and used the main house as a staging area for the wedding party. Our guests enjoyed the property, from fishing to reading a book in a canoe on the lake to exploring on mountain bikes. We had a welcome bonfire at the lake on Friday night (Montfair will tend the fire for you). The venue is very customizable - for example, we had a yoga class in the lodge on the morning of the wedding, and brought in a chef of our choice. FYI there is limited cell service which meant everyone was fully present, and the terrain can be slow going for mobility-limited guests (easily solved with a golf cart rental!). All in all, we couldn’t have been happier with the experience and would highly recommend Montfair to other couples! We plan to return often in the years to come and soak in all the memories.

Montfair is the perfect country wedding!

Montfair was perfect for us. We looked for somewhere rustic, elegant, and capable of hosting the wedding party and family over a long weekend. We rented the venue and all cabins for the entire weekend. Simply put, they were fantastic to work with, accommodating in every way. The venue itself was great. People who stayed onsite loved the cabins and they were clean and well appointed. Our caterers and other event staff were able to work seamlessly with Montfair's staff. The setting and countryside was gorgeous. I wouldn't have been married anywhere else! They bent over backwards to make sure our wedding went off without a hitch but were mostly invisible. So much work went into making our event special and they managed to keep it all behind the scenes. Our only suggestion is to rent some golf carts so you can get around the property quickly. Your wedding weekend is too short to spend it walking from place to place. I would recommend Montfair to anyone. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Beautiful outdoor venue with a great rain option!

Our Montfair wedding couldn’t have been more beautiful. The mountain backdrop, the open field, and the open, wooden lodge with a big deck were exactly what we wanted. We had a smaller wedding (~70 guests) and many of our family and friends stayed in the cabins. The lodge was perfect for our rehearsal dinner and reception. Every outdoor wedding couple worries about rain, of course, but we worried a lot less knowing that the lodge deck with its lovely pond view was our rain option. The staff was friendly and helpful and we were pretty much allowed to bring in whatever vendors we wanted. We used both the fireplace and bonfire and the guests loved it. We didn't have to lift a finger to do the fire - the staff did it all. It was great value for the cost. I also love the fact that we get a discount when we rent cabins there in the future... it is such a sweet, quiet location and will be perfect for romantic anniversary getaways!

Some things to be aware of - and these aren’t drawbacks, just things to know. (1) There is no cell reception, so last-minute calls to vendors or photographers or wayward guests can be a challenge. Wifi is available though. The great thing is that you can plan for an “unplugged” weekend if your people are on board with that! (2) The location, which is hilly and has a lot of gravel roads, can be a challenge for older guests or those with reduced mobility. We rented golf carts and that definitely helped.

Outdoorsy Wedding Paradise

We couldn't have asked for a better venue. It fit with exactly what we wanted. We loved having many of our guests stay on site. We spent a whole long weekend at the venue which made the experience even more memorable. Everyone at Montfair was so kind and helpful. Victoria went above and beyond to answer our many questions before the wedding. We had a blast doing picnics, bonfires, and canoeing throughout the weekend. Even though it was 90 degrees and almost everything was outside, we would not have changed the venue for anything. Besides our friends and family, the venue made the wedding. The views are breathtaking, the lake is gorgeous, and the whole feel is one of relaxation. If you are looking for an outdoorsy wedding and want to celebrate all weekend long, I couldn't recommend this place enough. We can wait to return as guests!

Excellent!

We had our wedding at Montfair in March 2019, and are so so thankful we did! Between the beautiful grounds, extremely helpful and friendly staff, and the ease of the whole wedding planning process, we would choose this venue again a million times over. The scenery is beautiful, the cabins are cozy, and the views from the ceremony field and reception hall are breath-taking. The team in place is timely and supportive in everything they do, and we could not have been more impressed with the group of individuals that helped bring our vision to life. We searched for the perfect venue for month, and knew from the moment we set foot on-site that Montfair was just that. We will be making a habit of regularly visiting Montfair in the future, and would highly recommend this venue for any of your wedding needs!

Magical venue

Montfair Resort Farm was the first wedding venue we visited and I immediately knew that it was where we would get married! The mountain views are breathtaking, the lake views are gorgeous, and the lodge is beautifully decorated with string lights. Montfair provides plenty of space and different locations for your ceremony and reception and works great in case it rains on your wedding day like it did on ours!

Every single member of the staff at Montfair that we worked with was so incredibly helpful, flexible, friendly, and professional. From our first visit to our many follow-up emails and phone calls, we always felt taken care of. They offered great suggestions which helped our planning process and made our wedding day so smooth and easy.

Don't hesitate to book your wedding with Montfair - it is an unforgettable and magical place to get married! I also highly recommend booking a cottage or two for family members to stay overnight, and my husband and I stayed in the house which was so comfortable and a great space to get ready. We can't wait to go back and visit Montfair for a weekend getaway!

Amazingly breathtaking!

My husband and I got married on 10/20/2018 and we could not even imagine getting married any where other than Montfair Resort Farm! It was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! My husband and I actually stayed at Montfair a couple of years ago, and during our stay I remember a young lady and her soon to be husband talking with the staff about a wedding!! I told Ben how beautiful it would be to get married there!!! So when Ben purposed to me I just knew I wanted to go back to Montfair and check out all the details! We searched other venues in the area, but none of them allowed dogs!!! Brides if you are looking for a venue who is dog friendly, beautiful atmosphere, great laid back staff, then Montfair is the place for you to get married at!!! All of our guest loved the venue, and even said “wow, no wonder they wanted to get married here!” We are from Richmond, Va so it is a little bit of a drive for us but it was so worth it!!! They also have cabins for you and your guest to stay at which was very convenient!!! I absolutely love all of our wedding pictures and the beautiful scenery!!! I highly recommend getting married at Montfair Resort Farm!! You won’t regret it :)

I have so many nice things to say about Montfair it's hard to find a place to start. We chose Montfair for its breath taking views from the wedding field and the perfectly charming reception lodge. Its truly the whole package! You couldn't even tell that a hurricane rolled through just two weeks before our big day, the staff is THAT good. From the owners, to the office and cleaning staff everyone was so friendly and knowledgeable of the property and surrounding vendors. Everything was exceptionally clean from the picture perfect windows of the lodge to the parking lot, not a single piece of litter on the ground. I can't thank the Montfair team enough for providing the perfect place for our wedding. It was a dream come true!

Katie, Dave, and the rest of the team at Montfair Resort Farm are an absolute dream to work with and the venue is incredible. We loved every aspect of our big day, our rehearsal, and everything leading up with Montfair. The scenery and views are gorgeous, the house on site has some serious natural light and plenty of room for bridal party to get ready, the A-frame cabin is ideally set by the lake for the groomsmen to spend the wedding day, and the lodge where the main festivities take place is incredible. We were blown away by everything about the venue and could never imagine a better place to have our wedding!

Montfair was an incredible venue for our weekend wedding. We knew we wanted to have our wedding somewhere with a beautiful outdoor ceremony site that could also accommodate more than 150 guests. Montfair was the perfect solution for us and we were impressed from the beginning with the kind staff, gorgeous views, and value proposition of having chairs, tables, lawn games and two bonfires included in our wedding weekend. Our guests had an amazing time and are still telling us about how much they enjoyed the views and outdoor time together playing horseshoes, kayaking and walking the nature trail. Katie, the events coordinator, was communicative with us and our wedding planner from the beginning and even helped us with some planning tips and vendor suggestions before we found a planner. On the day of our wedding, our mandap (Indian style wedding awning/platform) blew over before our ceremony was going to start. Dave, a member of the Montfair team, went way above and beyond to help our families and planner get the mandap set up again in a far more secure way than the rental company had first set it up. He truly saved the day for us! If you love being outdoors, like looking at the mountains and are happy with a slightly rustic, you truly can't go wrong with Montfair.

Montfair was hands down the BEST decision we made (besides getting married of course). It is one of those unique places that takes your breath away the moment you drive up to the venue. If you're the kind of bride who is looking for a place that is heartfelt, the people are kind, and the physical space is rustic and gorgeous and completely flexible to whatever you want - vendors, etc, Montfair IS IT.

My husband and I are laid back artist types and we wanted our wedding to be local (we're from Charlottesville) and focused on the bringing together of our families and unpretentious - and we knew from the beginning we wanted to do our own programming, catering (our families provided home made dishes), music (I created our entire wedding play lists start to finish and my husband brought in his own sound equipment), decorations (handmade garland, thrifted china plate settings, etc), and more importantly we wanted our dogs to be able to join us at the ceremony, and Montfair was amazing about accommodating every aspect of the DIY event. It's rare to find a wedding venue that does not restrict you with vendors, etc, and we truly appreciated how open they were to our vision.

The best part about this place was the AMAZING staff!! Katie was a true GEM - she was so kind, patient, and friendly, with every step of the planning process - she answered all of our questions and did so with wonderful grace and humor. The team at Montfair made us feel super supported the entire way. The fact that we never had to worry about the venue significantly cut back on our stress during planning.

I could write endlessly about how much I loved this place but the best thing you could do is just set up an appointment and go see the space yourself. When you know, you know, and with Montfair, we just knew.

Our experience with Montfair was fantastic! We loved working with the small staff and getting married in a location that was so special and remote. Everything about this place is just so intimate and original- just the way a wedding should feel! We even rented out the entire place for lodging so all of our family and wedding party could stay onsite. Thanks Montfair!

This was the most beautiful place to get married. It has everything a bride and groom could want and more! The views are incredible! We wish we could relive it over and over again!

Absolutely gorgeous rustic outdoor wedding. Our guests still talk about how beautiful our venue was. One guest even commented that would consider returning to Montfair for a weekend retreat from northern VA. It was great to see our younger guests enjoy roasting marshmallows at the firepit and canoeing on the lake. Forget the [pricey] vineyard wedding and consider Montfair Resort Farm, where you'll get similarly amazing panoramic views of mountains and rolling hills, not to mention the beautiful rustic cabins. Highly recommend!

Montfair Resort Farm is truly magical. Not just the stunning environment (rolling green hills, blue ridge mountains, perfectly picturesque lake!), but also the staff. There are plenty of pictures of the Montfair that speak for itself - which we can loudly and confidently confirm - but there's little physical evidence of how amazing everyone at Montfair is in helping you plan, envision, and recognize your ideal wedding. At the end of the weekend (because yes, you can have an entire wedding weekend at Montfair! not just a day), it was the "Yes" and "Can do" attitude of everyone at Montfair that made planning a joy and the wedding stress-free. When we dreamt of a vintage, mobile caravan to uniquely serve as our bar in two different locations, Montfair rolled up their sleeves and helped us and the vendor find a way to position themselves safely, securely, and in perfect sight for our guests. This was a first-time vendor at Montfair and could have easily been turned away because of size and complexity to move throughout the grounds (literally needed to be backed up in between two trees), but Montfair didn't even think about that option. They were willing to try and make everything work. That collaborative and supporting sentiment is truly unique for Montfair as a wedding venue. And this is just one story! There are tons more in which Montfair worked with us to have a wedding completely our own, not adhering to cookie cutter standards and rules.

It's hard to express everything that Montfair did for us into words, but when thinking about our wedding, we wanted a place that truly captured our personalities - nature-loving, intimate, relaxing, rustic, sophisticated, unique and personable.

Montfair is that place.

We couldn't recommend them enough!

Choosing Montfair was the best decision we made while planning our wedding! The surroundings absolutely blew us away — from the beautiful mountain backdrop of our ceremony, to the magical cocktail hour setting of the lake and woods. The venue provided the perfect combination of a festive but relaxed atmosphere, which helped our guests celebrate without feeling like the events were too staged or constrained. At the cocktail hour, our guests appreciated the variety of activities available, from lawn games, to mingling on the deck, to taking the canoes out on the lake.

It was really important to us to take the opportunity of the wedding to spend time with friends and family, so the ability to rent the property + cabins for the whole weekend was truly special. Our wedding party stayed in the cabins, and had everything they needed to just relax and have a good time. Beauchamp House was a great spot for my bridesmaids and me to get ready. Besides giving us extra time with friends and family, renting the venue for the full weekend made it easy to plan events on Friday and Sunday and keep costs down. We had our rehearsal dinner down by the lake, and brought in a donut truck for Sunday brunch. Easy!

The Montfair staff was a dream to work with. Katie Teel answered all our questions and stayed on top of every detail. During the wedding weekend, Aila set up a gorgeous bonfire and made sure we had everything we needed.

We can’t recommend Montfair highly enough, and are hoping to return in future years to stay in a cabin and relive the magic!

The team at Montfair was incredible to work with -- we really wanted our wedding to be a weekend experience, and to have our family and close friends with us. Montfair and their staff truly exceeded all expectations. Let's start with the venue. The venue is simply perfect. It's in a stunning location with just perfect views of the mountains and a gorgeous lake. The lodge and porch are perfect, with lovely lighting already set up and available to you. Every guest commented how gorgeous the venue was, and one note how the setting resembled a painting. We unfortunately had some rain on the day of the wedding, but because the venue comes with the lodge for the reception and a lighted tent covering the deck, we were able to quickly shift into plan b and keep our guests dry. The atmosphere remained perfect and the staff were so flexible in helping us adjust.

Next the staff: Katie Teel is simply amazing. Throughout the year she quickly and efficiently responded to every inquiry we had - much more quickly and thoroughly than any other venue we were considering. So for the cost of the venue you are not only getting an amazing location but an absolutely wonderful hand in Katie. Most helpful perhaps was Katie's extraordinary flexibility. While our contract only entitled us to access the property at noon, Katie and the staff worked hard to still get us access as soon as possible. We couldn't have asked for a more pleasant and helpful experience.

Next, another perfect thing about montfair is there are no limits on vendors or caterers. You can bring what you want from whomever you want. Their kitchen is huge so you can store cold and hot dishes as you please.

Finally, the accommodations at Montfair were really wonderful. The main house - the Beauchamp House - is large and comfortable and serves as a great staging and prep area for the bridal party. The cabins in the woods around the reception cabin are serene, relaxing, and rustic, but with all the amenities you would need to stay comfortable (kitchen, wifi, showers, etc).

We enjoyed montfair so much we are hoping to spend our one year anniversary there.

Montfair was a beautiful venue for our wedding. The ceremony site offers breathtaking views of the mountains behind it and the reception area offers a woodsy and intimate feel. Katie was extremely responsive to all questions and requests. She made us feel at home and we could not be happier with our choice.

Going into our venue search, we knew we wanted to get married somewhere that was laid back but also somewhere that showcased Virginia's beauty. After we visited Montfair for the first time, we canceled all of our other venue tours and booked our wedding weekend right away as it had everything we wanted and more. The location was perfect for our families and friends and with the package we chose, we were able to have our entire wedding party stay in the cabins that are located on site the whole weekend. We got very lucky with the weather clearing up and were able to have the ceremony at the ceremony field with the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in the backdrop. Even if the weather hadn't cleared up, we had peace of mind knowing that we had a back-up ceremony location at the lodge on the covered deck. The reception at the lodge could not have turned out better. Everything about Montfair is already so naturally beautiful that we only had to add details that enhanced the beauty. Everyone we worked with at Montfair was so helpful and nice. It truly is a DIY venue so if you are the creative type and love to incorporate nature into your crafts, then this is the venue for you. One good and bad thing about the location is there is very little cell phone service. This was good for our guests because it kind of forced it to be a technology free wedding. If you want to avoid any communication issues, a tip would be to purchase/rent/borrow walkie talkies. We purchased enough for the wedding party and wedding planner and they helped us out immensely since the resort is pretty spread out. Another tip would be to rent golf carts. We rented a 2, 4 and 6 seater GEM/golf carts and they were used all weekend to help zip around the resort quickly and to also escort guests to and from the ceremony field from the parking lot/lodge. If you are a laid back, casual bride and groom that want to have a laid back, casual wedding at a beautiful setting, then Montfair is the venue for you.

This place was AMAZING. We were looking for a nature-oriented venue that had either a mountain or water feature and were so pleased that this had both. It is so convenient having friends/family stay in the on-site cottages and the venue itself is so pretty and tucked away that all of my guests were impressed that we even found such a gem! It truly was a destination wedding as we decided to do a 2 day destination package which gave us use of the facilities for 2 days. Working with the venue was amazing - everybody was so helpful and friendly. While it is a more rustic venue we were able to make our party very elegant and fun and using the rustic vibe to highlight the nature element. It really was quite perfect. You may want to note that rental of this venue is just the venue with tables and chairs. Arrangement of items and things like plates, linen, glassware etc. is not included but most of the catering places we found offered to assist with those items.

Montfair was the perfect place to host our wedding. The scenery is stunning, providing the perfect backdrop for our ceremony, and a wonderful setting to spend the weekend with our family and friends. The onsite lodging made for a perfect long weekend wedding, and actually gave us a chance to visit with our friends and family. The staff were so polite, courteous and responsive, and "on it" whenever we had questions. As we were leaving, they told us that they want people to feel "at home" at Montfair, and we certainly did.

My husband and I had our wedding at Montfair on 5/6/2016, and we couldn't have been happier. The ceremony site on the hilltop looking the mountains is absolutely stunning. We also loved the option of being near the water for our reception. Many sites have mountains or water, but Montfair has both! We loved that we could use our own selected vendors which helped us stay within our budget. The reception space is also beautiful, and we found that everyone had a fantastic time at our wedding - and felt so relaxed! Highly recommended.

Montfair is a magical place! My husband and I both love the outdoors, so we knew we wanted a venue that was rustic, inviting, and in the woods. The staff was warm and welcoming and treated us just like family. Right away, Montfair reminded us of being at camp, and we loved that our guests could tent camp and stay in cabins on site. The Beauchamp House was a perfect staging ground for a lot of the prep, and my husband and I loved staying in the A-frame and keeping an eye on everything. We had a food truck for our rehearsal dinner, and folks loved the extra time to hang out and catch up on site. On Friday night, the bonfire was a blast, and the stars were everywhere. It rained all of Saturday morning, but that just meant morning yoga on the deck was that much more soothing, and we had more help to decorate inside the lodge. We were so glad we rented a tent for the mulch area next to the lodge because it served as a cozy back-up space for our ceremony, and I ended up liking it even more than the field. The staff at Montfair was incredibly patient and helpful as we figured out our rain plan. The dance party on the deck at the end of the night was amazing! It was really cool to see how it all came together. Just a note, if you're getting married in the summer months, you should probably rent AC units inside the lodge. We lucked out that the rain cooled things off. Also, know that Montfair is super DIY, so you definitely get to put your stamp on things, but those details can add up! Having a venue for the whole weekend made it all worth it, though, and we were definitely able to transform the space for the low-key rehearsal dinner, elegant reception, and Sunday brunch. I can’t wait to visit again for many anniversaries to come!

My husband and I loved working with Montfair to plan our wedding weekend. They were wonderful to work with and extremely helpful during each step. The staff was also great during on the weekend of the wedding.
We absolutely loved having our family and friends stay in the cabins. The bon fire after the rehearsal dinner and reception were perfect to keep the party going. The lodge was also perfect for a morning after brunch on Sunday.
Montfair truly was the perfect place for our wedding and we would not have wanted it anywhere else!

I can't say enough about how happy we were to have our wedding at Montfair. It was the first and only venue we met with, and the choice was immediately obvious. First off, the location is just gorgeous, between the picture-perfect ceremony site on a hill, the wooded reception lodge and bonfire by the lake, and behind all of it, the stunning backdrop of the Blue Ridge mountains. It was perfectly suited for our bluegrass and BBQ wedding, but is really a blank slate for you to make your individual mark on.
The staff were exceptional as well. From the first meeting, through the planning process, to the day of the wedding, they were very responsive and flexible to our requests (whether for information, recommendations, photos, visits, etc.). Our other vendors had nothing but positive things to say about working with Montfair. And our guests are still talking about how great the venue was, especially those that stayed on the property. All in all, Montfair provides a unique alternative to the many vineyard venues in the region, at a significantly better value.

Absolutely outstanding venue and professional staff. Couldn't have asked for a better wedding spot. Bonfire was a huge hit for our guests! The cabins were fully furnished and heated. We will be staying here again whenever we need a weekend away from Northern Virginia!

After my husband and I first visited Montfair Resort Farm we knew it was going to be perfect for us. They have a beautiful view of the Blue Ridge Mountains, all the amenities we could need, a location for all of our weekend activities, an incredibly helpful staff, and they are in a great location if people attending the wedding want to go to wineries nearby. I've worked in the wedding industry for a few years now and I have never encountered a more inviting group of people. It rained the morning of our wedding and through most of the afternoon but we weren't worried because we had people waiting for our go if we wanted to move the wedding inside or to wipe down chairs if we decided to keep our ceremony outside. We ended up staying outside and our pictures couldn't have been more beautiful. They were always ready to help when I called and made my husband and I feel very comfortable when visiting and planning out our weekend. We opted for the vacation rental package that included all of the cabins, the house, and the lodge for the entire weekend. We had a lot of people coming from out of town and we didn't want to worry about them having to leave early or needing to find a hotel (which was a huge blessing because we planned our wedding on UVA graduation weekend so there were no hotels left in Charlottesville). This ended up being the best for us, but the have all kinds of packages to choose from so you can definitely find something perfect for you. I can't recommend them enough! I have a bridal shop in northern Virginia and I tell anyone who is thinking of getting married in Charlottesville to go to them first because they won't regret it!

Montfair is a breathtaking venue in the mountains of Crozet. I was married there on October 12th, 2015, and I think every single one of my guests told me how beautiful the scenery was, and how charming the venue was, too! I highly, highly recommend going to Montfair to view it in person. If it's the venue for you, you'll know right away - my wife and I knew the moment we saw it that we would be married there. Montfair doesn't provide all wedding services, so you'll have to do some hunting for your own caterers and other vendors, but it's intimate, cozy, and romantic - and to us, that was everything we needed in a wedding venue.

As soon as we toured Montfair, we knew it was the place for us. Montfair is such a beautiful location and provides a natural feel as it is nestled on the mountains in the woods. Something that we loved about Montfair was that they also have cabins that you can rent and use for the wedding weekend so that you don't have to leave the venue. There is also a big pond that you will have access to and a beautiful lodge with a fireplace and attached porch with tent. I had several of my guests comment afterwards on how they just loved the venue and thought it was so beautiful.

The setting for the ceremony was beautiful. We had 30 out of town guests that stayed on property.Our guests enjoyed the relaxed setting. We had formal wedding and reception. They facilities were clean and adequate for the caterers. The outdoor areas were great for our younger guests and the deck was perfect for our older guests. The staff were very helpful and accommodating

We could not have had a better celebration at Montfair! We had a small wedding this past February and were looking for a place to have a larger weekend-long celebration with friends and family. Montfair was just the perfect place! We rented out the farm for Memorial Day weekend. We had friends and family stay at the house on the property as well as rent out the rustic cabins and camp by the lake. The setting was utterly perfect. We got very lucky and had perfect weather. Our weekend included a bonfire each night, hilarious team games that we organized on the field, a small ceremony where we read our vows by the water, a cocktail hour in the wooded area by the lodge, dinner in the lodge, a fantastic dance party on the porch, Sunday brunch on the porch, a hike in the nearby national park, a brewery visit, and a bbq to end the weekend's festivities. The staff at Montfair were so kind, flexible, and supportive. They gave us the room to design the weekend anyway we wanted. Every one of our guests who spoke with them raved about their customer service and just how friendly they were. The one recommendation that I have is to plan for a variety of accommodations beyond what is offered at Montfair. We have some family members who are not quite low-maintenance enough to camp or stay in the cabins. We rented out a hotel block in Charlottesville and hired a shuttle for the main event to accommodate these guests. We cannot wait to go back to Montfair and spend more time in a place that has become so special to us!

This venue is gorgeous, and every staff member with whom I worked was helpful and thoughtful. They communicated well and clearly wanted to help us get the most out of our day. The forecast was bleak, calling for thunderstorms all day and evening, but the staff did everything they could to compensate, and we even ended up getting to have our evening bonfire because the rain let up and the staff members had the foresight to cover the site and keep it nice and dry. Our guests loved the canoes and lawn games as well.

We had our rehearsal dinner and wedding at Montfair on June 13th. 2015 and couldn't be happier with our choice. The staff were super professional, responsive, and friendly through the entire planning process and wedding weekend. Some of our guests rented out the cabins on grounds for the weekend allowing us to spend the whole weekend visiting with family and friends. Having our wedding at Montfair allowed us to have relaxed, customized, and meaningful celebration while surrounded by the beauty of nature. If you are looking for a cost efficient venue with a beautiful view and very few limitations on what you can do- Montfair is your place! We plan on visiting again for our 1 year anniversary!

Montfair Farm is in a beautiful mountain location. The cabins are comfortable and easy access to the lodge. The lodge, with a lovely deck, and the lake with a bonfire were wonderful. We had a Friday night rehearsal dinner plus the wedding and reception on Saturday. The staff could not have been more responsive, pleasant and hard working. When we had an invasion of junebugs on Thursday night, by 7 am on Friday, they had purchased Tiki torches and traps to naturally control the pests. We had no problems with bugs on Friday or Saturday nights. This is only one example of the many things the staff did to help us have the wedding our kids wanted. The absolutely went above and beyond! We had a wonderful wedding, in beautiful location at Montfair.

Montfair Farm Resort has been so wonderful to work with while planning our wedding. They have been quick responding and willing to work with our budget! The Montfair staff welcomed us as if we were family. It was a blessing to be able to host the simple yet beautiful wedding reception that we wanted in such a restful place. There isn't a single thing we would change about our wedding day at Montfair! The setting is beautiful (even in the rain!) and the staff is out of this world. Lisa will lay all your bridal worries to rest and help ensure a perfect day. There’s something magical about every piece of a wedding at Montfair…. The ceremony in the field is intimate and breathtaking all at the same time. The exposed wood beams at the lodge hold hundreds of twinkling lights, which along with the roaring fire transform the building from lodge to dream-wedding-venue. And the lake a sunset – there isn't a more perfect place! You can’t go wrong!

Our event was originally planned as a wedding however at short notice was changed into a 60th wedding anniversary. Having our wedding family reception at Montfair was a beautiful experience. From the initial contact on the phone though visiting/touring the venue, all the way until our event, working with the staff was amazingly peaceful. We were so grateful to welcome our family to such a simple yet lovely evening to celebrate our wedding earlier that day. We would describe the staff as kind, salt-of-the-earth people willing and happy to help us plan in any way they could. They are easy-going but also reliable and thorough.

My husband and I valued greatly the ability to tailor the space to our personalities and the freedom to provide our own food and drinks on a reasonable budget. Montfair welcomed our small set-up group consisting of family and friends to arrive before us and get things ready for the party. We appreciated that we were given space to use the lodge as we desired and at the same time were comforted to know the staff was available to help if we needed it. Our family enjoyed the bonfire and had a wonderful time spending the night in the cabins.

On another note, the location and landscape at Montfair are stunning. The lake and surrounding mountains brought us so much joy and our wedding pictures were beautiful.

We are forever thankful for Monfair's sincere service and the lasting memories of our time there.
We hope to visit again sometime and thoroughly recommend this vendor to anyone who appreciates rustic beauty and genuine people.

I cannot give enough stars to how wonderful our experience was at Montfair. We were attracted to the venue because we were able to stay on the property from Friday through Sunday and have our guests/wedding party stay on the property. We loved that everything was eco friendly. The staff here are so unbelievably friendly, laid back, and responsive. They made us feel like we were at home. We will be coming back to vacation for years to come.

Montfair is an incredibly beautiful location. The staff were very helpful (and calming) both before and during the event. The cabins on site are nestled into the woods around the lake and it was a nice walk from the reception to our guests cabins. Highly recommend the facility.

Fantastic! Our wedding ceremony and reception were magical, even when the weather required a change in plans. The tent set up at the lake provided a beautiful backdrop for the ceremony. The lodge was just perfect for our rustic wedding and the staff was so very helpful. Our guests had such a wonderful time. What a great venue!

My husband and I were just married at Montfair, and our families stayed at the cabins and Beauchamp house. The staff were very flexible with check-in and set-up times, which was wonderful. The venue was PERFECT for our small wedding (104 guests)...but much more than that it would have been crowded. Lisa was incredibly friendly and helpful, as was the rest of the staff. Highly highly recommended for a rustic style wedding!!

Our wedding at Montfair was picture perfect! We knew we wanted a fun, DIY venue where our guests could relax, enjoy Virginias beautiful landscape and most importantly, have fun! When we visited Montfair two years ago, we knew we had found it! Our wedding party and families rented out all of the cabins, and loved them. It was a breeze working with Lisa and the rest of the staff at Montfair. They made us feel so special throughout the whole planning process! We really wanted a gorgeous laid back venue that would allow us to really DIY the heck out of wedding. Montfair was perfect! As soon as we visited, I knew I could see our family and friends hanging out there. We opted to book the lodge for our rehearsal dinner as well and had a bonfire both Friday and Saturday nights. we booked all cabins and had tons of tent campers. It was amazing to really have a whole weekend with our guests. Being able to see people both nights really took the pressure off of running around in the short time we had Saturday for our reception. I highly recommend having people join you both nights. We will absolutely be going back. LOVED it!

My husband and I got married here in early May and it was, without a doubt, the most perfect venue for the kind of wedding we wanted to have. We wanted a location that offered natural, amazing outdoor views (the ceremony field is breathtaking), rustic reception features (the lodge for receptions is perfect for a rustic, DIY set up), and casual overnight accommodations for our wedding party, family, and friends (log cabins and camping in tents! What could be better!?) The staff at Montfair was SO helpful and professional... but also gave us the right amount of space for us to "do our own thing" which I really appreciated. We also felt like the overall price was extremely reasonable.

A few points:

If you're a relaxed couple that loves the outdoors and has a casual family/wedding party/guests that enjoy camping, Montfair is perfect. Our immediate family and wedding party stayed in the on-site cabins/house and our guests brought their own tents and camped out right by the venue. We really liked that our friends had on-site accommodations that didn't cost them much, which can alleviate the burden on your guests; we could tell our friends appreciated that/enjoyed the tent party! The cabins were also SO cool and well kept. I didn't see any bugs in our cabin and all the cabins were stocked full of anything we needed.

If you're a couple that wants a lot of creative freedom in your choice of food, decorations, etc.. this is your place. If you just want to check a few boxes and be on your way.. this probably isn't the place for you. The best part about Montfair was that we made it our own!

Also keep in mind, the two of you can visit Montfair again and again for anniversaries and such years to come. We certainly plan on doing so! <3

We just had our wedding at Montfair on September 17, 2011, and we could not be happier! Montfair was the first venue we visited when we started planning our wedding. Nothing we saw afterward could compare to the stunning surroundings at Montfair. Even in the dead of winter when we first saw it, it was gorgeous!

Montfair has all the charm of the best parts of Central Virginia at a much more reasonable price than many of the nearby venues and wineries. Although the online pictures on Montfair’s website and Facebook page are gorgeous, they still do not do justice to its sheer natural beauty.
The lodge was exactly the setting we were looking for that we could personalize to our taste. We wanted our wedding to be rustic and elegant, and with our decorative touches including linens, flowers, and lighting, it was perfect.

Working with Leora and Ruby was wonderful. They were easy to work with, completely professional, and did everything they could to make sure that we had exactly the wedding we wanted. They were happy to accommodate many of the special requests we made and seemed to truly be as excited for our wedding as we were!

Our guests raved the entire time about the experience of our wedding, from the ceremony overlooking the mountains, to the bonfire by the lake, and the rustic, elegant reception in the lodge. Montfair made our wedding unforgettable and we will always look back knowing it was absolutely perfect.
