Combining natural charm with modern amenities, the venue provides scenic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Situated in the Shenandoah Valley, The Serenity Inn & Events will provide memories you and your guests will cherish for years to come!

Facilities and Capacity

The Serenity Inn & Events' beautiful reception space is outfitted with large doors and windows that open to a stunning view of the mountains. Accommodating a maximum of 120 guests, the country—yet modern—space affords couples the option of an indoor or outdoor celebration.

The inn offers a number of services and amenities that couples may benefit from on their special day. Options include outside vendors and a large, separate area for your caterer to use as a prep station.

Accommodation

The Serenity Inn & Events offers overnight lodging that comfortably sleeps eight guests. In the form of two master suites and two rooms with sets of twin beds, couples and their guests benefit from the following amenities:

Amazing Venue with the most delightful staff

I knew as soon as I walked into this venue that I wanted to have my wedding here. The mountains in the background are picturesque and the reception space is perfect for a wedding under 100 people.
We originally planned to have our ceremony and reception in November 2020 - when COVID started spiking we realized neither of us were comfortable having friends and family travel from all over the country. I had heard horror stories from other 2020 brides who were fighting with their venues over moving their date and when I reached out to Paula I wasn’t sure how flexible she’d be able to be.

I don’t know why I was worried. Not only did she accommodate a new date for us, she was so kind and understanding about the stress I was under. Over the last two years I’ve relied so much on her and her husband and they have been true lifesavers. I cannot stress how important they both were to our successful wedding day.

If you’re looking for a beautiful venue with truly beautiful staff, this is the place for you.
I also highly recommend scouting out photo locations around Massanutten - we had our first look in a meadow at the entrance of Massanutten (which is just up the street from the venue) and the photos are absolutely beautiful!

Beautiful Venue with Amazing Views

From the moment we met Paula and toured the breath taking property, we knew that this was the venue that we wanted to celebrate our wedding. Paula was so flexible and accommodating! Both her and her husband made sure everything was exactly as we wanted. We were able to rent the house on the property for the weekend to host our bridal party, rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception. The views were just breath taking! Paula worked closely with our photographer as well to make sure our photos were perfect. I could not recommend this venue more for your next event, conference, retreat, or wedding!

Can't beat the skyline

Paula is the most amazing, welcoming and accommodating person I have had the pleasure to work with. The venue is gorgeous and her hospitality was far beyond my expectations. If you want a beautiful location look no further.

Outstanding venue and helpful team, loved this place!

This venue was fantastic and we can't say enough about it or imagine our wedding having been anywhere else. First off, Paula and Duane are amazing people and they were so incredibly helpful from planning out the event, recommending vendors, and helping out before and during the wedding itself. Simply outstanding support beyond what we expected and two of the most delightful people you'll meet. The venue itself was perfect. The ceremony area is elegant. The house provides a wonderful place to spend the few days before the wedding with family (we did our rehearsal dinner in the house itself). And the reception hall has great light, is beautiful, and offers enough of the things you need for the reception but not too much that you can't make it be exactly what you want it to be. And the views... gorgeous. Honestly it was a perfect wedding and we can't recommend this place enough. I truly wish we could rate it as 6 stars. It was a dream weekend in every way!

Great Venue

As a professional wedding and event DJ I get the opportunity to provide services at numerous venues throughout Virginia and connecting states. I had a great time and awesome overall experience working with The Barn at Walnut Grove and their staff. The owners and staff were on hand very plesant. I can't stress how important "teamwork" is on your big day. The venue is so photogenic inside and out, you will get incredible photos for sure. This venue offers an indoor/outdoor location which accommodates any weather!! Parking was a breeze. As a wedding professional I look at the functionality of a venue from my time of arrival to the time I leave. Check them out if you are on the market for a venue in or near Lydia/Harrisonburg VA!!

We had a wonderful experience with the Barn at Walnut Grove. We originally booked the venue for our wedding because it has a beautiful view of the mountains, it provides the opportunity to have an outdoor ceremony and an indoor (climate controlled) reception, it’s in a great location (right next to Massanutten Resort - we did a room block there for our guests), the property includes a house where we could stay with our friends (it’s a beautiful house!), and the price was lower than any other venue we looked at! We were a little concerned when the venue ownership changed 2 months before our wedding but were pleasantly surprised when the new owner was more flexible and accommodating than the old one. It turned out to be a pleasure to work with the Paula, the new owner. From our discussions with Paula it sounds like she’s making some positive improvements in the future as well! I would definitely recommend this venue to others. It was perfect for a wedding our size or smaller (we had 100 guests) – any bigger and it would be crowded and you’d have very little room for a dance floor (definitely doable – just tight). That being said, don’t immediately count it out if your invite list is bigger than that – remember that your final guest count will be smaller than your invite list! We had a longer invite list and we ended up with the perfect number of guests for the size of the venue. If you have a larger wedding here the rain option is also not ideal. Our rain plan was to get married in front of the fireplace in the reception hall which is very nice. The issue was that when the tables were set up for the ceremony there was no dance floor – which means we would have had to move the tables after the ceremony. Thankfully we did not have rain and we were able to have the ceremony outdoors. Regardless, I LOVE this venue. I would recommend visiting because as beautiful as the pictures are - they don't do this place justice!

I would definitely have a wedding here, Lauren and her husband are very friendly, very accommodating, and will help you with every step along the way to make sure things are the way that you want them. The place is very gorgeous and very inexpensive. Well worth the money!

I feel in love with this venue years before it officially became my wedding venue. It was perfect. It was clean, the view is breathtaking, and the space was ideal. My only reservations were not from the venue but from the owners. They are pleasant and friendly, but when you're required to hire a wedding planner, it's almost over bearing to have them be present and interactive as well. If you can get over that aspect, I would 100% recommend this venue
