I am an Award Winning Film Makeup Artist, who has been "behind the scenes" for 11 years, I have worked on many of the faces we now know as household names and although I loved being involved in such an amazing field, I knew that it was time for me to move on. Real women have always been my passion and I wanted to build a company that was exclusive to them, and that is when I founded Isabella Bastien L.L.C. an on site mobile Makeup Team that travels to our clients. It has since been one of the best decisions I have ever made, and I am thrilled and honored to be a part of such a wonderful industry. We have been all over the world and we are proud to now call the Northern Virginia and the DC area home. Do you travel to the client on the day of the Pre Trial & Wedding? If yes, is there a fee?

Yes, we travel up to 30 miles at no additional fee. Travel rate after 30 miles is based on total distance.

Do you charge for Pretrials?

Yes, we offer 2 different contracts. Pretrail Only & Pretrail & Wedding, it is up to you which contract best suits your needs, if you book with us both go to the total rate of your contract.

How many clients can you book at once. Can a bride book her entire bridal party with you?

We can book up to 6 per artist, We have 5 Artists on Staff. Yes. Of course book whom ever you wish. We can handle it. (We also offer Group discounts to larger parties)

How far in advance should Brides & her Wedding Party make reservations?

Between 4-7 months before the Wedding date, Pretrail is usually done 1 month before the Wedding (unless you are shopping around and just opt for the Pretrial Only Contract).

What is your cancellation policy?

There is a $100 Non Refundable retainer and 50% total booking deposit required, that total amount is based on the size of your Bridal Party.

Make Up Tips & Secrets of the Trade

Makeup should enhance the best part of your face and compliment the rest of it.
It should never look "Done" (Unless the Client Specifies).
For everyday Makeup, keep it clean and short. 5min. MAX.
Evening time application should take 10 to 15 min.
Makeup should change just as your age and skin do.
When in doubt: mascara, concealer, blush and gloss.
The perfect lip color for any skin tone and age is rose, trust me on this one (Some deeper, Some lighter).
Always invest in a great concealer (My favorite is Laura Mercier SC).
95% of women DO NOT need foundation, (instead try concealer) if you are in that 5% that do, only apply it in certain areas of the face. Not all over. Less is always better.
Most women are uncomfortable with brushes. If this is you, stick to your ring finger. It is one of the best tools out there. (Lips, Eyes, Cheeks, Face. Go crazy. You can always wash up).
Allow yourself the freedom to experiment with all colors and shades of Makeup. (You may be pleasantly suprised at the outcome).
For any and all special events always look into hiring a Makeup Artist, Photographer, and Hair Stylist. Your future pictures will thank you.
