Wedding Cakes in Washington DC

If you've been to Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe you know they are delicious and very affordable. We'd been going for long enough that we'd decided they were our first choice for our wedding cake well before we were engaged. They were easy to work with and our cake was beautiful and delicious. We did a small cake, sheet cake, and their strudel and cookie platters! We knew we'd done well when our planner commented to us that he was so excited we'd picked Heidelberg. Long before my own wedding, I had the pleasure of tasting Sweet Elevations’ cakes at other celebrations, and each time, I was blown away. So when it came time for our wedding, there was truly no other baker I even considered. We selected three flavors for our three-tiered cake, and every single one was delicious. Our guests are still raving about them weeks later. Alicia offers an incredible variety of flavors, and her cakes are consistently moist, flavorful, and thoughtfully crafted. Alicia and her team are some of the kindest, most genuine people you could work with. It’s a special thing when a business not only delivers exceptional quality but is also led by amazing individuals. No detail was ever overlooked. Our cake tasting experience was impeccable, and the delivery on the wedding day was seamless. When I was unsure about the exact design direction, Alicia went above and beyond by providing multiple proposals, guiding us with care, and offering options until everything felt perfect. Even when we added additional cake close to the wedding, she was flexible and accommodating without hesitation. Sweet Elevations exceeded every expectation. I highly recommend Alicia and her team and look forward to working with them for all of our future special occasions.

I ordered a 3 tier wedding cake for my nephews wedding. The flavors were amazing! Chocolate Bavarian, Passion fruit, and Vanilla Bean. I personally enjoyed every flavor especially the vanilla bean flavor. The passion fruit was a hit for some but not others. The cake was most and not too sweet including the fondant. The fondant was one of the best I’ve tried. It was more like a light chewy marshmallow. It was such a hit at our small intimate celebration. Everyone was raving about the cake! The customer service was also excellent and I appreciated the time Alexandria took to call me and go over my order since we were not local and was not able to do any tastings. I preferred to speak with someone vs order online. I definitely recommend this spot for wedding cakes and if I’m ever back in town I will definitely be stopping in to try some of their smaller pastries!

We taste tested cakes and dessert with various different vendors and ended up going with Cakes by Happy Eatery. The owner, Victoria, was very nice and easy to work with. Their cake is so fluffy and moist (not dry at all) and they offered a lot of dessert options for our dessert bar. Highly recommend you get your wedding cake and dessert from here!

We’ve now had the pleasure of working with Rosanne from Sweet Family Secrets twice - first for our wedding cake and now for our first anniversary, and both experiences were absolutely amazing. Not only were the cakes beautiful, but they were also incredibly delicious and thoughtfully made. Rosanne truly brought our vision to life each time, and it means so much to us to have someone so talented be part of such special moments in our lives. Thank you for your creativity, attention to detail, and care. We can’t wait to celebrate more milestones with your cakes!

I have used Vanessa for Father’s Day, birthdays, even for wedding cakes! She is fantastic and her cakes are not only delicious (especially the ones filled with dulce de leche), but are a piece of art! You can even give her a picture of what you want and she would replicate that really well. Vanessa is also very professional in handling her business. She has a lovely personality. Love her cakes! I highly recommend her.

Aries’ Cakes consistently provides quality service. Every sweet treat has been a hit at all of my events!  I look forward to using their services in the future.

When planning our wedding, it was important to my fiancé and me to choose vendors who understood our vision, truly listened, and were genuinely good people we enjoyed working with. Sarah was the first (and only) baker we did a tasting with, and choosing her was an absolute no-brainer. Her tasting process was relaxed and fun—it honestly felt like sitting down with a friend. It was so hard to narrow down our flavor choices, but we ended up with pink champagne and citrus, chocolate peanut butter, red velvet cream cheese, and an almond raspberry groom’s cake. Sarah is truly a talent—her skill and artistry are unmatched! Both cakes were stunningly elegant and tasted as incredible as they looked. My husband was especially touched by the groom’s cake design. I’d only given Sarah a couple of inspiration photos for the groom's cake and let her run with it, and she absolutely NAILED it. We realized after our wedding that our photographer is the only one who captured pictures of it so we can't wait to see those! Our guests couldn’t stop raving about the cake—many went back for second, even third, slices! I’d asked our coordinator to place a slice of each flavor at our sweetheart table, and we’re so glad we took a moment to enjoy a few bites together while taking in the view of the dance floor. We can’t wait to dive into our anniversary tier in October 2025, though it’ll be hard to wait that long to enjoy it again! If we could give Sarah 1,000 stars, we would. Couples, do yourselves a favor and add Sarah to your wedding team—she is truly the best. We’ll be dreaming about her cakes forever and hope to enjoy them again someday; nothing else compares!

Ahh, M&T Events are top notch, just amazing! These ladies are so incredibly sweet and were easy to work with. Whatever design you want your cake, they can do it. Money well spent in our wedding cake. They are easy to contact, respond well and on a timely manner. Overall experience, 10/10! You know a company is good, when you remember their work from over 10 years ago. They did my older cousins wedding cake in 2013 and I knew they had to do mine in 2025!

We had such an excellent experience working with Dana of Dana's Cake Shoppe for our wedding this past November! From our first meeting to our big day, she took the time to listen to our needs and interests from cake flavor, to design. Our wedding cake looked absolutely stunning and we have Dana to thank!
