Q&A
Q: What is the philosophy behind Green Carpet?
GC: Our philosophy begins with our intentions. Our heart goes into planning the perfect eco-friendly event while maintaining elegance and style throughout. Getting to know our clients and taking the time to ask them the right questions comes from years of experience and exercising our motto, “party with a purpose”.
We have entered a time in history in which personal responsibility should include entertaining to sustain creativity, abundance, prosperity and intelligence from instinct to execution. That is essentially what Green Carpet aspires demonstrate in each of our events.
Q: Can sustainable events really create an impact on the planet?
GC: At Green Carpet we model our business around the use of local, conscious resources.
Instead of feeling entitled to simply take and use planetary resources, we also make a considerable effort to give back and nourish the planet as well. We take the time with our clients and let them know how their choices are affecting not only their event and immediate future but how they can incorporate a sustainable regimen into their home/office, if they so desire. The impact we all have is a matter of implementing a new sustainable blueprint into our lives and creating a marriage between design, spirit and intention. *10% of our annual profits are distributed to the Bioneers Organization and their efforts into Biomimicry (remaking the way we make and design things/life based on how nature works).
Q: What degree of magnitude can Green Carpet handle? Would you be willing to organize a 400-person event?
GC: Our immediate response to inquires of this nature are always up for discussion, however, we like to maintain an intimacy throughout each of our events. The team we have in place is solid and workable and while we hope to extend that team in the future we are only equipped to handle 300 guests.
Q: I love your favors! I live in Atlanta Georgia and am getting married in Italy and would love to buy 100 favors. Do you ship domestically/internationally?
GC: We ship anywhere in the world and only require a two week notice on most of our favors. We have been known to expedite a rush order for an affair happening the next day as well. It depends on which favor, we have 100’s to choose from.
Q: Does Green Carpet handle the day of the event management and is the team present throughout?
GC: The moment you walk into the door to the very end, we are here for you every step of the way. No question is too small or insignificant. We strive to ease your worries and melt your concerns. We operate best when our clients are at ease!
Q: Does every, single piece of my event have to answer to the green gods of sustainability?
GC: We do the best we can. We make exceptions with certain requests and believe in balance to achieve harmony. In that balance an element of sacrifice can come into play. As long as we are not sacrificing our integrity there is nothing off limits.
Q: My upcoming wedding is in less than two months and I need help with some of the facilitating. Does Green Carpet provide assistance with some elements and not others?
GC: We handle the smallest details and are happy to assist those who have certain vendors in place and need us to fill in the blanks. Our efforts in facilitating your event can be large or small.
Q: I drive an SUV and love the idea of throwing an eco-event. Is this a double standard?
GC: We don’t believe in double standards. There are many ways to decrease your carbon footprint. Having the desire and intention to throw an eco-event could in fact be the difference you can start to make. The intelligence behind vehicles and SUVs is evolving as we speak. My husband and I are in the process of taking these steps with our SUV.
We know the transition will take time and we are trying to be smart about our upcoming purchase. If everyone ran out and sold there SUV and purchased a new hybrid it would make for mass consumption, which is just as hard to justify as keeping the car you drive. Honestly, it’s a matter of doing the best you can with the resources you have. We’re in support of anyone who makes an effort, whether, it be large or small.
Q: My dream wedding would take place in Italy. Does Green Carpet plan events out of the country?
GC: Absolutely! We are thrilled and excited to plan your big day, wherever that may be. Our connections extend all over the world and we are happy to do the research if there is an element we are unfamiliar with.
Q: Can Green Carpet plan a dinner party at my house in less than a week for 20 people?
GC: We pride ourselves on carrying out last minute details and intimate celebrations with little or no advance warning. This is another one of our specialties.
Q: The quality of food is the most important factor for my upcoming birthday. Is there a way to tray pass eclectic, delicious appetizers and keep Champaign flowing for 200 people?
GC: We are delighted to cater to the most discerning pallet as we employ the best organic chefs in the country. Appetizers are easy and a great way to keep the flow of the evening consistent and your guests entertained and happy.
Q: Lighting is very important to me. Is there anyway to have purple artificial light at my event?
GC: There’s no detail we can’t find a suitable, sustainable answer in executing. Lighting with green generators or energy efficient bulbs is always an option.
Q: Does Green Carpet have any restrictions on red meat, poultry or seafood? Do you have experience with kosher chefs?
GC: The only restrictions we might have when it comes to cuisine is that of its organic nature. All of our caters use fresh, organic hormone- free meats and poultry. Seafood is welcomed as long as it’s not on the way to being extinct. We are open to creating just about anything within reason. And, yes, we have wonderful kosher chefs to suit all of your needs, mazel tov!
Q: What is the most important element of an event?
GC: Without question the strongest element is your intention to have a GREEN event. Imagine for one second your guests leave not only with great memories, but also a greater purpose- a new, internal thought process to reflect how beautiful a sustainable event can really be!
Our biggest goal at Green Carpet is not to look back at our portfolio and glance at aesthetics but the smiles of loved ones when they were introduced to something new, something beautiful and something that changed our world for our future generations.
