Lindsey Mandel did our cake for July 2010... and we were sooo UPSET with what we got. Her samples tasted great and then our wedding cake was horrible. Our caterer didnt actually want to serve our cake becaue they said it was not put together properly so it fell apart.. they were embarrassed for us to serve it!!!! DO NOT GO WITH THIS GIRL AT ALL..... We tried to get our money back and we were within the time frame of complaining but all of a sudden her number has changed!!!!!!! Please be smart.. dont wreck your wedding day!!!!!!

Linsey did my cake for my July 3rd wedding. I was sooooooo disappointed when I arrived at my venue, and the staff pulled me aside to let me know my cake was leaning and would probably fall over before dinner was through. It was poorly made, and unfortunately I paid 500 dollars for a cake that fell over right after we cut the 1st piece. No one was able to taste the cake because it ended up on the floor. I emailed her to let her know about the cake, and she never responded. Very poor business practice. I would caution any bride doing business with her in the future. She took our money, and delivered a wedding cake that she knew was of poor quality.

I was really excited to get our wedding cake. Lindsey's samples were delicious & she seemed experienced & professional, despite being out of her home. I provided a drawing of what I envisioned for a very simple 2 tier cake, different flavors & fondant. She was very cooperative and seemed to know what she was doing. She even offered to have a friend do the flowers out of gum paste instead of fake ones. The only details we requested were purple hydrangea bunches & filigree in the corners & she said it wouldn't be a problem at all. When we arrived at the restaurant we had to laugh at our cake. It was the right color fondant but pink hydrandea & the filigree was just a mess! The biggest problem was that she did not use any supports between tiers so of course the top tier was sinking into the second which made it hard to separate. We just said the cake better taste good, and it did! The guests loved the flavors as did we. Carrot cake was a bit dry but still good. We are very easy going people so we just laughed off the other details and look back at pictures still laughing at how funny the cake looked! We don't feel it was worth the money so we wouldn't recommend her to someone else unless they are the type to not get bent out of shape over a cake.

My cake was not what i ordered, IT WAS BETTER. We were married about a month ago. I loved all the extra touches. The buttercream was smooth, the fondant soft, and the cake moist. We had a hard time booking a tasting, but once we did it was well worth it.

Highly not recommended. Besides our cake being poor quality. It was ugly, too sweet and too dry.the cake at the tome of the reception had broken decorations, was slanted, had uneven piping and fondant, and was so hard to cut the caterers even complained. We brought these issues up with Lindsey and she devalued my wifes opinion. It was only until we showed her pictures of the broken decorations did she believe us. We thought she had valued our business because knowing how upset we were promised a refund of 50 percent. However she has never issued our refund. When asked about where the refund was Lindsey would state she was too busy and in the alloted time the refund will be issued. It has been several months after the wedding and we have nothing. Her unprofessionalism and lack of commitment to customer satisfaction is disappointing. This whole business dealing is a mess. We had issues with her product, delivery personnel, and Lindsey herself. Customers take a risk on another cake maker. This one isn't worth your time. If you get a good cake then congratulations! But if you get one you hate you are in for a roller coaster. So why take the risk?

Do not pick Mandel Cakes for any occasion.
My cake was an absolute disappointment. The decorations were broken, and inconsistent. The over all appearance of my cake was hideous! I trusted Mandel Cakes to create something beautiful, elegant and memorable. When I look back on the pictures of my cake I am embarrassed. I am STILL unhappy.
The texture of our cake was dry. It wasn't fresh at all. I had a horrible time cutting my cake when it was time for the cake cutting event at my wedding. How embarrassing!! I felt like a carpenter carving on wood in front of everyone.
My guests, family, friends and the staff at the wedding all gave negative feedback on my cake. It was that bad! No one was able to provide reassurance because they knew I would know it wasn't sincere.
I found out later through her face book page Mandel Cakes had booked several cakes on my Wedding Day. There were a couple weddings AND birthday cakes she had committed herself to. Any of the other cake companies I had spoken with explained to me they only commit themselves to one cake so that the creator can concentrate on one project and give it their best. Lindsey, obviously spread her efforts on to too many projects. Unfortunately though it was me and my husband that had to face the consequence.
