I love Cakes in Style. Their cake tasted amazing. We had two flavors chocolate and spice with a caramel butter cream filling. They were very accommodating by making a small three tier cake with butter cream frosting (something they don't typically do).

We sat down and discussed what we wanted. They helped us design the cake to how i wanted <3 It was perfect! The cake tasted and looked wonderful! Very happy and would recommend them to everyone! We wanted our own topper and they were perfectly fine with us providing our own toppers. I loved how everything turned out and they were on time! Very professional and creative!

I am so happy I chose Lucia to do my wedding cake. She did exactly what I wanted and the cake was delicious! I can't wait to order another cake from her for our next party :)

Os bolos da Lucia sao uma delicia! O nosso bolo de casamento foi recheado com mousse de maracuja, que era exatamente o que eu queria - um sabor tropical - e algo que demorou para achar. O bolo do noivo era de chocolate e menta e na forma do nosso cachorrinho como "ring bearer" - uma graca! Ela anotou varios detalhes neste bolo, incluindo a coleira vermelha e que as nossas aliancas seriam prateadas (ouro branco) e nao douradas. Achei que era um pouco caro para um bolo so branco e sem decoracoes (nos demos origamis para ela por em cima do bolo), mas na verdade todos os outros lugares aonde eu experimentei bolo deu o mesmo preco. A diferenca era que so a Lucia tinha a variedade de sabores que a gente queria e no fim valeu a pena. Com certeza a gente faz mais encomendas com a Lucia.

Lucia's cakes are delicious! Our wedding cake had a passion fruit mousse filling, which was exactly what I wanted - a tropical flavor - which is something you don't find easily in too many bakeries in the DC Metro area. The groom's cake was shaped like our puppy as our ring bearer - so cute! She paid a lot of attention to detail with this cake, including the fact that his colar should be red and that our rings on the pillow were to be silver and not gold. I thought that the prices were a bit high for a plain white cake with no decorations (we gave her origamis to place on the cake), but the truth is that other bakeries we went to gave us the same estimated price. The difference is that only Lucia has a variety of flavors that we wanted and in the end it was worth it. We will certainly order from Lucia again in the future.

I loved my wedding cake. My cake was beautiful, piece of art, but more importantly was the taste, it was outstanding. The cake was a huge hit. It was a pleasure working with Lucia and Rob. They were very flexible and caring to my suggestion and questions. Cake was delivered on time as well. The entire experience was wonderful. I refer them to every one I know.

I honestly can't think of anything negative to say about Lucia or the cake that she made for our wedding; it was perfect! Lucia even invited us back for a second tasting to ensure that we made the right decision (we took her up on that offer), and we definitely did make the right decision. We ended up getting an almond cake with vanilla buttercream frosting - unbelievable! We described what we wanted based on one of her many pictures of previously made cakes (with a few slight modifications), and she created exactly what we had in mind. Lucia asked all of the right questions to learn what we envisioned, and she nailed it! The cake looked gorgeous, fit in perfectly with the flowers, and tasted incredible! It was so light and moist that everybody was commenting about it! The cake was one of the biggest hits of the night. Perfect is all we can say about both the cake and our experience with Lucia at Cakes In Style!

I had an absolutely horrible experience with this vendor. Not only were they 3 1/2 hours late to deliver my wedding cake (the party was well on its way and I was starting to panic), but they did not give us the apology we deserved. I would not recommend this vendor to anyone who wants to be treated with respect and wants to rest assured that their cake will be there on time for their big event.

I wanted a cake that was different, and they gave it to me. My crooked cake for me was the best part of my wedding. It was absolutely gorgeous, and managed to match the colors of the wedding perfectly, even when i didn't really know what specific kind of green i wanted. She did have one problem, someone before our deliver was not as organized which held her up. She did make it before the ceremony but told us that she was a bit late, and you could see she was concerned. She was apologetic and stressed but made sure she the cake was set and perfect before she left.

Planning Comments: After reviewing everyone's suggestions, I chose 2 places that were near our wedding reception to save on delivery costs and make life easier. We went to Cakes in Style first and it was all yummy. We tried 6 or so different combinations. Then, we told the owner Lucia we wanted to come back another time to try the mocha buttercream. Instead, she went to the back and made up a special sample for us with exactly what we wanted - vanilla cake with mocha buttercream filling and vanilla buttercream frosting. It was amazing! My fiancé and I both immediately said "that is it!" and he doesn't even usually like frosting. Just to be sure, we went to one more tasting. It was good, but I could not stop thinking about the taste of the cake at Cakes in Style so that was an easy decision! Plus, her prices were very reasonable compared to other bakeries in the area.

After Wedding Review: Our cake was amazing tasting and absolutely beautiful! I had drawn a rough sketch and given her a picture I found online to show what we wanted, and she designed it exactly as we requested (if not better!). Many guests commented on how delicious it was and asked where it was from. My only regret is not having time to eat another piece of it or grab any extra slices from the back for after the wedding. We are wondering if we will actually be able to wait the year to get our frozen top tier. At least we can always go and get a small cake for another occasion made there in the same flavors!

Lucia made the exact cake I wanted. It was moist and delicious. It was very pretty too.

Lucia is amazing. I brought her a magazine picture of my non traditional cake, (It was covered in molding chocolate). And she executed it wonderfully. I couldn't have been happier. The best part is her cake TASTES good too. That is so hard to find when wedding cake shopping. She is incredibly skilled and a true professional. Her prices can't be beat either. If you are want a truly beautiful magazine ready cake, you cannot beat her prices. (Trust me I shopped around) Everyone who is in her price range or cheaper makes grocery store looking cakes. You don't want that on your big day! You can get those any time. She will be a little pricer than some of the other options out there, but you get wayyyy more than what you pay for. It is so worth it. If you have room in your budget to splurge a little bit, this is the perfect place to. The cake was delivered on time even though there was horrible traffic that day. Some of my wedding party was even late, but the cake was on time!

Cakes In Style very worth it..loved Lucia she was great she did my bridal shower cake which u can check out on her site it is the pink top hatters hat cake with me a figurine on top of what is supposed to be me very cute. She also did our wedding cake very beautiful loved it it was so unique and she followed through with what we exactly wanted ...loved her work..highly rcommend Cakes in Style.

I had a very specific cake in mind, and Lucia seemed really excited to make it. And, the price was right. Although our cake arrived two hours late, and although our wedding planner was unable to receive a response to her several voice messages, the cake arrived and was, for the most part, what I asked for. We received numerous compliments on the style and many more compliments on the strawberry shortcake tier of the cake. I really appreciate the effort that Lucia must have put into this cake. In the end, they definitely came through.

Cakes In Style is the best thing to ever happen to cake. People are still talking about my cake and want to be there when we eat our top tier. Lucia Byers created the exact cake that my husband and I wanted. Also her suggestions were just what we needed. Communication was excellent and the delivery of the cake was on time at our reception venue. The cake was 4 tiers of heaven! Thinking about it now makes me want to go eat a piece. Now where is that knife...

I loved it!! The cake was excellent and we were able to agree on a reasonable price. They also made a groom's cake which was also out of this world. Lucia was very attentive and accomodating to our requests. We had no problems with the delivery. I highly recommend her!!!!

Absolutely wonderful vendor. Lucia was extremely responsive to any correspondence and enthusiastic and wanted to make us the best cake within our budget. Our cake was gorgeous and looked identical to the picture we had showed her. We were thrilled with working with her and would highly recommend her to anyone.
