Great tasting cake but a little slow responding to emails. Forgot a few details on the cake but it still looked great.

Carolyn was very easy to work with. The cake she baked for us was beautiful and delicious. We chose a white cake with raspberry filling, which was especially moist, and the second layer chocolate cake with mocha filling. Umm, good! I'm not a big sweets eater, but I sure do regret not being able to bring some of the cake home to nibble on the next day!

Cakes by Carolyn was the vendor associated with my reception location (International Country Club). ICC is lucky to have CBC! I contacted Carolyn (always by email) about 3 months before my wedding. She was very responsive and we set up a tasting appointment shortly thereafter. I brought in several ideas and details from my wedding and she was quick to put together a sketch that incorporated all those elements. She took my feedback (mostly colors) and was very enthusiastic about the cake she designed. We chose the cinnamon cake with dolce de leche filling. THe cake turned out beautifully and we had many complements on its appearance and taste!

Carolyn was just wonderful to work with. She is very kind and responsive and her cake was amazing. Some of our guests said it was the best cake they had ever had! We were very happy with our pretty fall wedding cake. Highly recommend her!!!

I was very pleased with Cakes by Carolyn. Carolyn is so sweet and easy to work with. And, her cakes are BEAUTIFUL. She works out of her home in Centreville. As soon as you walk in, her home just feels so warm and smells soooooo good. Carolyn was willing to accomodate everything I wanted. I really enjoyed working with her, and my cake turned out fabulous!

The minute we met Carolyn we knew we wanted her to do our wedding cake and cupcakes. She was awesome to work with AND her cake is spectacular! She made red velvet cupcakes with butter cream and the guests were going back for more. They were quite tasty. We can't wait to eat the anniversary layer!

Carolyn was one of the two vendors who made wedding cakes for our reception venue (International Country Club - cake included in price) and I'm so happy that they contract with her. She was delightful on the phone, flexible in scheduling a time to meet (I was out of town, so my schedule was quite fixed), and easy to work with in person. She listened carefully and the cake she made in the end was more beautiful and perfect than I could have imagined. The cake was delicious as well - she had a lot of flavors to choose from, it was probably the hardest part.

My husband and I went to about 8 cake tastings. Carolyn's cakes definitely stood out! They were moist, flavorful, and not too sweet. This was very important to us. During the consultation with Carolyn, her experience definitely showed. We were very pleased with the quality of her cakes and I believe she was the least expensive cake vendor we consulted with!

We went with marble cake and mocha filling. After the tasting, we couldn't wait to eat more at our wedding! After the wedding, we took home the top tier and ate 2/3 of it and saved 1/3 for our one year anniversary.

I would definitely reach out to Carolyn for other cakes in hopes that she would have time for it! She's a very busy lady - very high demand for her sevices!

Carolyn is the best, simply stated. We used our cake as the dessert for the reception and it was gone within minutes. People wanted to know if there was any extra (lol).

We did a 4 tier vanilla cake with strawberry chocolate chip mousse filling. Carolyn is the best. She's friendly, completely flexible, and the cake looked amazing.

We'll be back for our 1 year anniversary cake because I don't think we'll be able to wait a year (smile). Carolyn - you are the best and thank you for making our cake so special.

Our wedding cake was beyond amazing. People are still talking about it!! Carolyn was incredibly easy to work with and she was so responsive to all our requests. The cake was gorgeous--it looked like it belonged in a magazine! We couldn't have been happier and we can't wait until our first anniversary to have more!!

I am the luckiest bride in the world because when Carolyn learned I was getting married she let me know immediately she wanted to do my wedding cake. Little did I know what a treat that would be. My mom & I went to her house for a taste testing and we brought back samples for my fiancce, now husband :-), to try. It was hard to choose because every slice tasted great. The true test of a 'perfect' wedding cake though, is that every single vendor came by & asked me for Carolyn's website. They said it was the best cake they had EVER eaten!!!! AND our guests left some for us to eat when we returned from our honeymoon. Yup I'm the luckiest!!!!

First of all the cake was absolutely delicious. It turned out exactly like the picture that we brought to Carolyn. It was so good that our friend actually ate our left over cake off our table (hahaha). We did have some slight problems though because she forgot to write down our flavor selections on our receipt and so called me a week before the wedding to ask me what flavors I wanted. At that point it had been months since the tasting and it was hard to remember what we had decided on. Also we had a cake confusion at the reception which turned out not to be Carolyn's fault at all, but while trying to straighten out the issue we were never able to get ahold of her and never received a call back. In the end the cake showed up and was exactly what I wanted so I don't want to sell her cake or her delivery short, but the lack of responsiveness was disappointing.

Our groom's cake and our wedding cake looked beautiful, both of them tasted out of this world, they were so moist and very good. Greatly recommended!

Carolyn was wonderful to work with. My daughter and I met with her and we knew instantly that we wanted her to do the cake. She carefully listened to what my daughter wanted and designed a cake that exceeded our expectations. The cake was gorgeous and our guests raved about how good it was.

She is very gracious and welcoming when you go to her home. Not only does she have numerous pictures for you to look at, but she also has actual models of cakes. Carolyn makes very useful suggestions and offers you many options. Her selection of flavors is by far the best that we saw. The biggest plus is that her samples for tasting are freshly made.

Carolyn worked with our florist to achieve the look that we wanted for the cake. Together they did a wonderful job. She really has a special touch.

Our wedding venue lost the top of the wedding cake, but Carolyn was able to make us another one. It was all wrapped, boxed and ready to be placed in the freezer when I picked it up.

My daughter and I were extremely pleased with our experience. We highly recommend Cakes by Carolyn.

Carolyn produced the most beautiful, delicious cake for our April wedding. I had seen a picture in a magazine and she replicated it to a tee. She was even able to put a little version of our dog on top. Something I really wanted but didn't think would be able to afford. Did I mention how delicious it was? I am looking forward to our 1 year anniversary to have another slide!
