Loughran & Phillips was formed in early 2007 and hit the ground running with events at Be Bar and for various Clubs in and around the DC area.

Clare Loughran was born in DC and grew up in Maryland. In 2001, Clare graduated from The Corcoran School of Art where she earned a BFA in Photography.  Her culinary adventures began at L'Academie de Cuisine in Bethesda, MD.  She continued her studies at the Art Institute of Washington and  attained a diploma in Advanced Baking and Pastry in 2006.  Through the encouragement of her mentor Frederic Loraschi, she traveled Gimont,France where she worked with Phillipe Urraca,MOF a nationally famous patissier and chocolatier.
While apprenticing with Chef Urraca, Clare mastered the art of french caramels, ganaches and other candies.  By combining her eye for art and her penchant for perfection, she strives to create concoctions both visually stunning and tastefully sinful.

Clare is an artisan of sinful sweets and is currently working at The Ritz Carlton in Washington, DC.

Chad Phillips was born in Alabama and moved to DC 2 years ago to continue pursuing his Culinary ventures.  Since living in DC, Chad has worked with Poste Brasserie and Georgetown Catering Company.  Chad is a southern boy at heart and loves to produce food that will linger on your taste buds and in your heart.  He is currently at The Art Institute of Washington where he maintains a full class schedule and also works part-time.  Since late September, he began working as the Honors Fellowship Student Assistant under Certified Master Chef Edwin Scholly.  Chef Scholly and Chad are currently training for national and international competitions including the Culinary Olympics that will be held in Frankfurt, Germany.

Clare and Chad enjoy what they do and have picked up Culinary Cooking Styles from the near 30 different countries they have traveled to.  Looking to the future they are excited about taking what they know and what you want and creating an event that will be one that you will remember.
