As If You Needed Another Reason to Go to Greece, Here You Go
Prepare to be swept off your feet by these beautiful Grecian wedding ideas that are straight out of a fairytale.
Cue the wanderlust, because we’ll be busy dreaming about this gorgeous Grecian style wedding until further notice. Let’s start with the venue: a rustic estate outside of Athens with inviting stone architecture, terracotta roofing and a picture-perfect view of the stunning Greek countryside. The estate’s natural surroundings and warm color palette were the starting point for this styled shoot, which was coordinated by The Event Company. Bright pops of magenta, teal and purple added a bohemian twist, while classic attire for the bride and groom kept the concept grounded, balanced and timeless.
Pack your bags, because this Grecian style wedding will make you want to plan a trip to the Mediterranean, stat.
A soft blush color palette is romantic and classic at the same time. We're loving the Greek-inspired details on this invitation suite, from the laurel wreath monogram to the grape motif and illustrated venue map. A wax seal was the finishing touch.
The team was focused on incorporated local touches into the shoot, right down to these sprigs of fresh lavender.
When it comes to your ceremony setting, sometimes less is more. The venue's gorgeous stone walls were showcased with just the right amount of greenery accents.
Finish an oversized bouquet with long ribbons for a bohemian, ethereal effect. Lightweight fabrics in pastel colors look so pretty—raw silk and gauze are two ways to get the look.
The bride's dress was actually a two-piece style: a flowy skirt and matching top, which were adorned with intricate embroidered lace.
Her headband tied everything together by incorporating the same vine-inspired lace pattern. Stunning!
Spice up a classic tuxedo with colorful accessories, like this magenta bow tie. It's a great way to modify formal groom attire for a more casual setting.
This groom also switched up the traditional tux by adding a ruffled shirt.
No plain-Jane cakes here! The two wedding cakes were covered in bright teal buttercream icing and finished with gold leaf detailing for a hint of shimmer.
Up close, the textured buttercream is what makes these cakes stand out as total showstoppers. Both confections were topped with fresh blooms, including hyacinths and wax flowers.
Brides, listen up: the key to nailing Grecian wedding style is keeping your wedding day look effortless and natural. That includes your makeup! Sheer foundation, subtle eyeshadow, flushed pink cheeks, and soft, full brows are all major players in the no-makeup makeup look.
Loose hairstyles are oh-so-pretty and totally romantic. A half-updo with long waves and strands around your face does the trick. You can sweeten the style even more by adding a few flowers.
For the bouquet, the florist stuck to a mostly green and white combo accented wih dark purple astrantia.
"Greece is rich in both history and romance," said Hanna Monika Cybulko of HannaMonika Wedding Photography. "It lent itself perfectly to be the backdrop of this stunning styled wedding. Far from the crowds, tucked intimately amid indigenous olive groves, whose silvery leaves winked in the soft afternoon light, we found an idyllic atmosphere."
There are 62 acres of vineyards at Pyrgos Petreza, the gorgeous estate. Take this as visual proof that vineyard weddings are some of the prettiest weddings ever. (The wine is, of course, a bonus.)
Say hello to this seriously stunning sparkler: an emerald-cut engagement ring with a delicate pavé halo and a triple split shank band. Swoon!
Giant floor cushions and colorful throw pillows surrounded a low table to create this outdoor wedding lounge area. The mix-and-match patterns give off a easygoing, boho vibe.
These hanging floral hoops are so trendy right now, not to mention that they would make a fun photo backdrop!
"Although we were mostly situated outdoors, in no way was elegance sacrificed" says Hanna. "If anything, the elegant nature of the design and the couple were enhanced against the contrasting provincial setting."
Now this is how you do a tablescape! The beautiful setup was dotted with golden taper candles to contrast with the rest of the decor.
Roses, tulips and caspia were paired with lots of greenery to create the whimsical reception centerpieces.
Table numbers were decorated with laurel wreaths to match the invitation suite. The cards were displayed with spools of ribbon—how's that for an adorable idea?

Mix-and-match china contributed to the eclectic look of the tablescape. This is very Mamma Mia, one of our favorite wedding movies to binge watch and a fun source for Grecian style wedding ideas.
Last but not least, dessert. We would happily dig into this miniature fruit pie (which would also be a perfect treat to take home at the end of the wedding). Yum!
