From start to finish, working with The Proper Setting was one of the best decisions we made for our daughter’s wedding. Their attention to detail, calm professionalism, and genuine care for our daughter and son-in-law’s vision made the entire planning process seamless and enjoyable. They went above and beyond to ensure every detail was thoughtfully executed — from timelines and logistics to design and coordination. On the wedding day, everything flowed effortlessly, allowing us and our families to truly be present and enjoy every moment without stress. It was clear that they anticipated needs before they even arose. What truly sets The Proper Setting apart is their heart. They are organized, responsive, creative, and deeply invested in their couples. We felt supported, heard, and cared for throughout the entire process. Their relationships with other vendors are professional and collaborative, which made the entire experience even smoother. If you are looking for a wedding planner who is professional, trustworthy, detail-oriented, and genuinely passionate about creating a beautiful and meaningful day, look no further. We are beyond grateful and cannot recommend The Proper Setting highly enough.

Erin is amazing!! Her enthusiasm is contagious, you can tell she loves what she does. She was always available for questions and calls leading up to the wedding. We really relied on her knowledge, keeping us organized and focused on what mattered the most. On the wedding day, Erin was somehow everywhere at once, making sure every detail was perfect. It started to rain right before our outdoor ceremony and she reassured me that everything would be just fine; she was even ready to wipe the chairs for our guests return! We had a couple of last minute seating changes and she didn’t skip a beat. Erin is talented, professional, kind, and brings so much joy to what she does. I really don’t know what we would’ve done without her. If you’re looking for a coordinator, Erin is the one you want!

Smooth Sailing Weddings, working with Sasha, was an absolute dream. She made the entire process go as smoothly as it could have gone. We wouldn't have wanted anyone else by our side and on our team for that day. She truly was incredible from the little things like making sure my veil and train were set properly as I walked down the isle (which I did not even feel her behind me setting them up, an absolute angel!!!) to coordinating with vendors and set up and break down, to I am sure the 100 other smaller things that made the day go perfectly. She truly took care of us from start to finish. Could not recommend working with her and her team enough!

11th Hour Weddings and Events did an amazing job making my wedding everything I wanted and more! Despite the weather, their team rearranged everything to be better than expected. We were so happy with them and definitely recommend!!

I’m not even sure where to begin… Laura and her team at The Finer Points Coastal truly felt like working with Fairy Godmothers: Wedding Edition. From the very first initial phone call I felt like I had fallen into the lap of luxury. Laura felt like an aunt I hadn’t met before - she truly listened and heard me. We chatted for 45 minutes the first time and I didn’t want the call to end! Every single detail of my wedding weekend went off without a hitch and I know it’s because I hired The Finer Points Coastal. When planning a wedding you know things will go awry on the day of that’s just how things go - but with Laura and her team I didn’t know of any hiccups. I genuinely got to enjoy my entire wedding weekend knowing that Laura & her team had everything covered. From the speciality menu at the welcome party, to the very precise and personal grand entrance for our wedding reception, Laura and her team were there every single step of the way. I could continue this review to be the length of a novel saying how much I loved working with The Finer Points Coastal, but do yourself a favor and hire them. You will absolutely, 1,000% not regret it. Finding this genuine dream team was the ultimate game changer in my wedding planning process! There aren’t enough words to put in a review to fully grasp the attention to detail The Finer Points Coastal team put into our wedding weekend.

My husband wanted a wedding planner and I was hesitant because I was trying to save money, but let me tell you.... I do NOT regret getting Beth as our wedding planner! She calmed my nerves during the entire wedding planning process which helped keep me sane. I loved how much knowledge she has in the Outer Banks wedding industry. I truly believe that is the reason our wedding day turned out perfectly. She made sure I had every little detail down to a tee. I did not think of half the things she reminded me of! My husband and I are so thankful for Beth and her team! Our day was so smooth because of them. 10/10!

Morgan was great to work with. From the beginning stages of wedding planning all the way to the DAY!!!! She took all of my ideas and brought them to life, even better than I could have imagined. Reasonably priced as well.

Nordstrom Events and Diane were a dream to work with. From our first call, she was warm, professional, and ready to plan. She curated our timeline, communicated with our vendors (and helped us choose a couple—Jeffrey’s Greenworld and Sweet Sunflour Bakery were superb) and abated all of our stresses. We credit Diane with making our special day better than we could have ever dreamed. Despite our venue being unresponsive, we had zero concerns that our day would run smoothly with her as our coordinator—and it did! We have nothing but positive feedback for Nordstrom Events and would highly recommend them to any bride in OBX.

Heather is AMAZING!!! She helped me every step of the way answering my million-and-one questions. I gave her very little direction with my décor, and she made the ceremony and reception space come to life. She is the best in the business! She knows the flow of a wedding and what works/doesn’t work. Wonderful working with my vendor team! She mastered each and every detail.

Rachel and her team are absolutely amazing! This review is late but we hired her for our November 2016 wedding at the Wild Horse and could not have asked for anything better. We had the full wedding package since we were from out of state and had no idea how to get everything we needed. Rachel helped us through every aspect and made everything so simple for us. The food was amazing, the photography was perfect, the DJ, cupcakes and decorations were beyond our expectations! I had zero stress the day of our wedding and I owe it all to her and her team! My husband and I could not be happier with how our day turned out. Absolutely the best!! We would recommend Rachel and the wedding package to everyone, especially those from out of state and those who don’t want to stress on their wedding day!
