We are beyond thrilled with our experience working with Kerri as our wedding planner for our wedding at Hill Runner on Corova Beach. From the moment we spoke with her, we knew we were in the best hands. Planning a wedding on the remote 4x4 beaches of the Outer Banks could have been overwhelming, but Kerri made it feel seamless, stress-free, and genuinely exciting.

I am delighted to write this review of Kerri Catino-Nason and Danielle Fenyak of The Proper Setting, who were nothing short of amazing in planning our daughter's destination wedding in the Outer Banks in May of 2025. From the very beginning of the planning process, Kerri's extensive knowledge of the area and local vendors was invaluable. She helped us choose the perfect venues for the ceremony and reception and both venues captured the essence of our daughter's elegant garden party vision perfectly.

Planning a wedding from afar can be overwhelming, but Kerri made the process incredibly smooth. She was always available to answer our questions, provide updates, and offer suggestions that made the vendor selection process much easier. Her attention to detail was remarkable; she thought of things we hadn't even considered, making sure our daughter's wedding was not just beautiful but also functional, comfortable and enjoyable for everyone.

Throughout the planning process, Kerri's positive attitude and impeccable organizational skills made the entire experience easier and less stressful than we anticipated.

On the day of the wedding, everything was executed perfectly. Danielle, Lela and their team were on top of every aspect, allowing us to relax and fully enjoy our special day. The Proper Setting team and the other vendors we hired (caterer,
photographers, DJ, videographer, decorator, rental company, baker and florist) often work together on events and they did so flawlessly during our wedding. The event ran
seamlessly from beginning to end. It was clear that Kerri's expertise and dedication made all the difference.

Working with Kerri was one of the best decisions we made for our big day. From the very first conversation, she was warm, down-to-earth, and genuinely excited to help us, and that energy never faded.

Kerri was so easy to talk to and always quick to respond, which honestly made a huge difference. Whether we had a random late-night question or needed help making a last-minute change, she was always there with a calm, “Don’t worry, I’ve got it” attitude that instantly put us at ease.

Her organization was INCREDIBLE! Everything was mapped out, every vendor was coordinated, and she somehow kept track of a million little details without breaking a sweat. On the wedding day, things ran so smoothly that we didn’t even think about logistics once. It just all worked, like magic — but we know it was because of all the work she did behind the scenes.

What really stuck with us, though, was how kind she was. She truly cared about us, not just the event. She listened, supported us, and made the entire process feel less like a business transaction and more like a friend helping you plan something really special.

We’re so grateful for everything she did. If you want someone who’s organized, responsive, and has the kindest heart, Kerri is the one!!!

Being recommended Kerri was the biggest blessing for our wedding. We only had 8 months until the wedding day, but Kerri kept us on track and (mostly) sane the whole time. Our wedding was perfect, and Kerri was such a huge part of that (as well as her wonderful assistant Danielle, who was our day-of coordinator). She introduced us to almost all of our amazing vendors and was deeply familiar with the wedding location (the Sanderling resort) and how to best work with the resort (which was going through a lot of renovation and turnover).

Kerri herself is just lovely and a pleasant person to spend 8 months of your life working with! She is also a former lawyer and can make sure contracts are done properly. I found her always available to text or talk on the phone promptly when needed. She handled so many small details related to planning, the day-of schedule, and updating vendors without prompting from us or ever being late on any task - she is so organized.

Overall, Kerri is 100% worth it, and although she won't be able to take all the stress of wedding planning away, she is able to greatly relieve it and ensure the wedding goes as smoothly as possible! Lastly, I can't forget to mention how amazing Danielle was as our day of coordinator, she did not miss a beat the whole day and was so incredibly reliable. Any small hiccups that came up throughout the day were handled without us (bride and groom) ever needing to hear about it!

We thank our lucky stars for Kerri everyday!!!!! Kerri was absolutely amazing and helped us above and beyond with everything for our June wedding day at The Chesapeake. She even helped us with aspects of our family vacation that we were having simultaneously. It was a joy to work with Kerri. When people ask us how wedding planning was we always say it was pretty easy but truly it’s all due to her. We felt so prepared and calm for our day and were able to fully focus on having such a memorable day. We would recommend Kerri a million times over!!!
