BUSINESS AS USUAL
With over 500 acres, Tusculum Farm, a venue located in Laytonville, Maryland, offers an authentic farm experience for couples and their guests. This farm dates all the way back to 1747 and prides itself with having the main purpose of drawing families together and celebrating life. The farm stayed in the Freeman family for many years until they decided to welcome couples and their guests to their farm who were looking for a special site to exchange their vows. Three hundred of the acres at the farm are dedicated to growing crops so you will truly be getting to enjoy your wedding on an authentic working farm. While the Freemans have enjoyed working and creating their own memories on their farm, they are excited to welcome in each new couple and help them create their own memories and celebrate their own love story here at the farm.
Facilities and Capacity
Tusculum Farm can accommodate up to 200 of your friends and family on your wedding day. Situated throughout the farm, couples will find both indoor and outdoor options to choose from. Each setting brings with it stunning views of the farm’s gently rolling hills and ponds. The farm also provides both couples and guests with many accommodation options. One option is the Main House at Tusculum Farm, which is a gorgeous cross gable stone and frame structure. The smaller Carriage House provides a unique history and quaint setting. For a real farm feel, couples and guests can enjoy staying in “The Coop” which looks like a coop but has more of a private apartment feel. Regardless of which space you choose, you will be able to take part in many of the activities on property after the ceremony is over such as horseback riding, farm tours, the art garden, walks and hikes, and much more.
The team at Tusculum Farm takes great care to ensure each couple experiences a unique and personal wedding. They are also there to help you plan and host other parts of your wedding such as your bridal shower, engagement party, and rehearsal dinner. Elopements can also be held on the farm. “In the name of love” wedding package
We had the most amazing experience with Tusculum Farm. Due to Covid-19 we had to cancel our original wedding plans. The “in the name of love” package at Tusculum was perfect. Trish worked with me for a month prior helping us figure out our marriage license. We met at the farm and Trish gave us a tour and we were able to pick the perfect spot for our ceremony and dinner. The vendors provided did a fabulous job. It was so nice having Trish plan everything after cancelling our other wedding plans. It ended up being the perfect day with our families. Trish goes above and beyond to make sure your special day is perfect. I highly recommend Tusculum Farm and the “ in the name of love package.Sent on 06/26/2020

Absolutely incredible, will be recommending to everyone
My husband and I got married yesterday, June 21st at Tusculum Farm. We did the “In the Name of Love” package which was originally meant to be an elopement, just the two of us, in the wake of COVID-19. Eight days before, on Saturday the 18th, we went and toured the farm to lay out our timeline and pick our menu. At this time we were offered an additional eight guests as Montgomery County was slowly starting to reopen.
Let me tell you, having our wedding here was nothing short of a fairytale. Trish was absolutely incredible, she was so flexible, professional and attentive. In eight days she was able to coordinate all her vendors and turn our elopement into a micro wedding for us and our eight closest family members. The grounds are absolutely breathtaking. Everything looks like it is straight out of a wedding magazine. Tyler and I never could have pictured having such a fairytale wedding for how LITTLE we spent. I asked him for a quote as I write this and he said the wedding and night at the Inn, “completely exceeded all my expectations and the service was top notch.”
From getting our suitcase out of the car when we first arrived on our wedding day, to Farmer Joel giving us some tomato plants for our own garden when we visited, to allowing our family members to steal a coffee mug at the end of the night, this place was wonderful. They checked off every box. There wasn’t a single detail for the day that didn’t get addressed. They truly went above and beyond and took every precaution to make us feel safe during the pandemic. There wasn’t a single flower bed that wasn’t perfectly maintained or a blade of grass left untrimmed. Every single photo you take has acres and acres of beauty behind it.
We will be recommending Tusculum to all of our friends, it was truly an incredible experience. All of the recommended vendors were out of this world.Sent on 06/22/2020

Exceptional Wedding Weekend!
We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to work with Trish Schechtman at Tusculum Farm for our daughter and son-in-laws wedding weekend. The bride and groom lived 5000 miles away and having to coordinate details from a long distance could have been challenging but Trish was so helpful in making sure the details were discussed and vetted from beginning to end. From the rehearsal dinner at the Barn, overnight accommodations, to wedding reception in the historic house to Sunday Brunch it was a dream come true. Trish and her team were exceptionally personable, professional and talented, provided quality attention, and went above and beyond the call of duty. It's because of Trish and the Tusculum Farm Team that each event was such a celebration for friends and family, many of whom were out of state guests who raved about the entire weekend. Everyone was enveloped in the lovely atmosphere created by the caring event team from the parking attendants, to the coat checkers, fires in each fireplace, to the lighting, holiday decorations and warm outdoor pit fires. We received wonderful feedback from family and friends on how beautiful, professional, and creative the setting was. The wedding weekend and reception were magnificent in every detail, and compliments were made by all on the choice of venue. Most importantly, Trish and the Tusculum Team made us feel a part of their family, they made sure we were taken care of in every way. We have already recommended Tusculum Farm to our friends and associates!Sent on 02/01/2019
