Blue Hill Farm is a classic country elegant bed & breakfast in the historic village of Waterford in Loudoun County, northwest of Washington DC. This is Northern Virginia's "Wine Country". Here, couples will find a charming, white, modern farmhouse built to as if it has been here for a hundred years, along with a rustic barn and a new Carriage House with a beautiful pool all surrounded by lush rolling farm landscapes and beautiful views in every direction. The venue is easy to get to, less than 10 minutes from Leesburg, only 25 minutes from Dulles International Airport and 45 minutes from downtown DC.

Facilities and Capacity

This venue can accommodate up to 300 guests for ceremonies and receptions outdoors in a tent and up to 120 guests socially distanced in the new Carriage House. A breathtaking ceremony location awaits just behind the farm house with multiple possible setups and props available. Couples will enjoy a backdrop of the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains that wrap from the west to the north and includes Sugarloaf Mountain clearly in the distance. The 45’x36’ Carriage House provides a cathedral ceiling and a gleaming white & seasoned wood interior where you can dial up the elegance or go with a more classic, rustic feel. The flexible interior is complemented by beautiful large sliding barn doors which open wide for a very open and airy feel. A large 12x36 powered awning can be deployed over the flagstone side patio. For larger weddings and to provide the greatest flexibility utilizing all the best elements of the property, couples should rent a tent for the dinner reception. Tents can be set up on a side lawn or in a back field both with easy access to the Carriage House and the circular driveway and all having beautiful pastoral views of rolling hills. Couples and their guests can use the Carriage House for rehearsal dinners, cocktail reception, dancing, after-parties or even Sunday brunches. The Carriage House is adjacent to the fabulous fire pit area with Adirondack chairs and a stone driveway where couples can mix and mingle or even dance under the stars. At evenings end, couples can make their grand exit with a sparkler sendoff or retreat into the classic farmhouse with their family or chosen guests to spend a relaxing night.

The owners are the staff at this B&B. They go to great lengths to help couples on their wedding day, typically devoting an entire weekend to only that couple and their families. Whether doing a single day of event, or spending one to three nights with friends and family in the four beautiful bedrooms, this venue aims to give everyone a completely relaxing country experience. Event planning, event management, and setup are all areas where the owners are involved. Cleanup on Sunday is allowed to make the wedding a more relaxed, memorable and civilized experience. Accommodations

This adorable farmhouse is home to a beautiful Golden Retriever and a really cool cat along with nine chickens, but welcomes overnight guests with open arms. The bed and breakfast has four guest rooms, 2 full ensuite bathrooms and one central powder room along with a living room, family room and beautiful kitchen areas for couples, wedding party, family, or other guests to take advantage of and while spending the weekend. Overnight guests are always treated to a delicious, healthy breakfast every morning.

Couples can celebrate any wedding event at this B&B including their bridal shower, engagement party, elopement, rehearsal dinners, ceremony, reception, after parties and send off brunches.     Best wedding venue in Northern Virginia!!

    My husband and I were looking at various wedding venues in the NOVA area and ended up staying at Blue Hill’s Bed and Breakfast while we were shopping around some of the wineries. As soon as we heard that Blue Hill also hosted weddings, we were sold. The property is absolutely stunning with views of rolling hills, accented by tons of beautiful flowers and trees, a charming carriage house, and all the space you need to create the wedding of your dreams. In addition, Waldo and Shirley are the most gracious and thoughtful hosts who are dedicated to helping you have a perfect day.
    My husband and I had a very specific vision for what we wanted to do – from the food to the décor – so another big selling point for us was that Blue Hill offered flexibility (rather than other venues that felt like “wedding factories” who had limitations when it came to vendors, timing, etc.). Speaking of flexibility – we were one of the many couples who had to reschedule our wedding due to covid and Waldo and Shirley were so understanding and patient as we shifted our plans. It could have been a very stressful scenario, but we were able to keep all our plans intact and just shift our date to 2021.
    Our actual wedding day was picture perfect and I can honestly say that I had zero stress the entire day. Waldo and Shirley were very involved with our plans and have an organized system for keeping tabs on all the details to help things go flawlessly. The venue itself is breathtaking and our guests commented on how beautiful and relaxing the property is. You have tons of options for where to host the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and take photos so it is ideal for tailoring each of your wedding events to exactly what you envision.
    I truly feel like we got married at a family friend’s property – Shirley and Waldo made us feel very at home (from the first day we visited to the final sparkler send off on our wedding day) and helped us plan and execute an amazing wedding. Thank you, Blue Hill, for helping us host a very happy, lovely wedding!

    Beautiful property in lovely historic town

    We viewed this property in July. It’s a gorgeous piece of land with a stunning ceremony view. It’s also in a really convenient location in NoVa for those in DC or right outside of DC. The owners have very flexible policies which is something that’s often undervalued in wedding planning. When you book with them, you’re getting their full attention and use of the private property - which is great! This is a wonderful, scenic place to get married and the B&B itself is immaculate with a rustic chic aesthetic. They also have a ton of great furniture pieces including a hand-built arbor and farmhouse tables that you can get through their (reasonably priced) all-inclusive package.

She says hosting a wedding is a lot like producing a TV commercial with location coordination, wardrobe, props, photography, etc. So it's a natural extension of her skiils as an art director/creative director. She is passionate about the visuals of the weddings and loves to help carry out the theme of the wedding by creating signage, additional florals and decorative accents.
