Lyrics

Maybe I didn't love you
Quite as often as I could have
Maybe I didn't treat you
Quite as good as I should have
If I made you feel second best
Girl I'm sorry I was blind

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Maybe I didn't hold you
All those lonely, lonely times
And I guess I never told you
I'm so happy that you're mine
Little things I should have said and done
I just never took the time

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind

Tell me, tell me that your
Sweet love hasn't died
And give me
Give me one more chance
To keep you satisfied
satisfied

Little things I should have
Said and done
I just never took the time

You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind
You were always on my mind....

This is NOT a wedding song, interlude or otherwise! Whoever thought this song has ANYTHING to do with weddings clearly has never listened to the lyrics!
I have to agree while this is a great song it doesn't really strike me as a wedding song.
A.P. you obviously don't know how to read properly.
My goodness, who added this song here?

I don't know this song, but just reading the lyrics, I was like "...huh?!"
This could definitely be a wedding song; its about a man that in the past has not appreciated his women, but this moment in time he now knows, she has always been on his mind and wants to keep her satisfied "marry her". Every song has a different meaning for everyone, my fiance and I will have our first dance song as "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis, that doesn't sound to most people like a wedding song, but it means a lot to us. Ease up people!
i agree w lindz
I agree with you lindz, it plays the truth with me and mine. I listen and think it was writing for us. we split up for 7 years because of it now back together and getting remarried
Willie is appropriate anywhere anytime
O.K. it starts out "maybe I didn't love you" that screams NOT MEANT FOR A WEDDING a celebration of love.
We had been apart for 27 years, so this song is a perfect wedding song for us! You gotta listen to the whole song people.
nice,
This song is prefect for wedding or wedding reception, even if your were to just use the music part and not the words! Not everyone has a muchie type of love and everyone has a different take on songs. I personally love Willie I grew up with him!
I feel as if this song is beautiful. It may not be for some, but great for some of us who have been in a long relationship for 10 yrs or more which wasn't as loving as it good have been. To find ourselves in love to a point that it takes our breathe away. This song conveys our thoughts. I will be played at my engagement party, rehersal dinner, as one of my prelude songs @ our wedding, and our reception.

Charredfroglegs
Last I checked, any song could be played, just because its not a "OMG I'm gonna love you forever kissy kissy" song, doesn't mean it can't or shouldn't be played. I'll be playing this at my wedding, not because of the lyrics, not because its Willie Nelson, but because of the sentimental meaning it has for me personally. My grandpa sung it to me before he died and I'd always promised him growing up that he'd go to my wedding. This way, whether by spirit or otherwise, he'll get to go to my wedding.
VALERIA D- Just because it says maybe I didn't love you for the first 5 words means nothing listen to the whole and the words after the first 5 it goes maybe I didn't love you quite often as I could have. Sometimes in a relationship before a couple gets engaged there is a time when the women feels like there are times when the man doesn't truly love her but its mostly because sometimes guys don't know how to exspress feeling. so basicly the song is kind of saying I know there are time when you feel I didn't love you but I do and there we times when I made mistakes but I am sorry and I love you and want to spend the rest of my life with you.
I think everyone is way to upset about a song. TO each their own. We want to celebrate our weddings ladies! I loveeee me some Willie.. He's a good man. Now how after reading Charredfroglegs's comment can anyone say this song isn't meant to be at her wedding?? Well then it's a wedding song! :)
I love Willie and have always loved the song, but if it is to describe the love we share on our wedding day, I think we best not marry. Sorry, if that hurts some feelings. Read the last part again: Tell me, tell me that your
Sweet love hasn't died ***If he thinks it died, why are you marching down the aisle???***
And give me
Give me one more chance
To keep you satisfied
satisfied ***I think if you're getting married, this line doesn't cut it. Going out on a date, again, to see if you can make it this time? Okay. Married!?? You better be certain! Not, Oh, let's just see.***
Oh shoot! This was going to be my first dance song... according to Bobbie B, I guess this means that I am not certain about marrying my fiancee. Well, that settles it - back to the drawing board. Next time I promise to pick a song that better represents what Bobbie thinks a wedding should be about. Silver lining - guess I can start listening to Single Ladies again now!
