Dover Hall is an absolutely stunning setting. My daughter had a wedding event last week and one of the owners, Jeff, and events manager, Eileen, could not have been kinder or more helpful- truly taking care of RVA bridal parties. The grand hall, the staircases, and the bride’s dressing room were all fantastic. The bride’s dressing room was large and airy with large windows, mirrors and chandelier – definitely a setting to excite a bride and set a princess mood. One of the bedrooms has a window seat with white and golden pillows that is beautiful for pictures. The pastoral landscape is inspiring and beautiful.
I do not mean to go on too long, but I have also been a corporate officer and could picture a productive and fun retreat in this setting so close to Richmond yet removed from day to day. A cozy bar area, breakout rooms (I would want the windowed ‘conservatory’ for my team…) and the wide outdoors for games would be terrific. Just cannot say enough thanks to the management staff for the great event they gave us.

Truth Be Told
The only downside to Dover is that it’s prettier than me.
They treat you like royalty, get the little details right, and were a huge reason my wedding was the best night of my life. It’s a place everyone should see once and the most unique setting for a wedding. We had an outdoor wedding because the weather was great and it was a good time of year...BUT you can’t put a price on the freedom from fear of rain at Dover. I was almost hoping it rained because I love the ballroom so much.
The staff is ridulous; from the bartenders, who consoled me when I was freaking out before the wedding, to the owners, who were personable and had their finger on the pulse to make sure everything went well. Then, you have two women who essentially did my job for me and kept us organized / on track when I was absentee. They were truly a saving grace; I could go on for days. Lastly, the head chef and his squad are worth millions. I typically hate mass-made food and weddings always have lackluster food...that’s not the case at Dover. It’s legitimately delicious; it’s innovative with layered flavor profiles. It’s thoughtful and done with purpose—all the guests raved.
Truth is, the great thing about Dover is no matter what happens, your wedding will be amazing. There’s no choice but to have beautiful pictures. You don’t even have to decorate if you don’t want to. You get to get ready in the classiest bridal suite with all your best friends with the most beautiful views. It’s a fairytale. For one glorious day, you’re a princess in a castle. It was so much more than I expected, deserve and I’m so thankful to have that experience.
