Country Club Wedding Venues in Virginia

I had been in contact with Victoria and from the start the communication was on point. The professionalism and integrity of the establishment was amazing. They truly are the great people who have the best intentions.

My husband and I just got married at the Kiln Creek Golf Club and Resort in early August, and our experience from beginning to end was amazing! When we initially met with Ruthanne to visit the venue, we told her that we were planning on having a smaller wedding and trying to follow a specific budget. Ruthanne worked with us to ensure that we stayed within our budget without compromising the vision for our big day. Ruthanne had excellent communication with us during our year of planning and ensured that we had meetings to talk about our vision and another meeting closer to our wedding date to finalize all details; she was also available to us outside of our main meetings to answer any questions that we had along the way. As stressful as wedding planning can be, Ruthanne made the process seamless! Once our wedding day approached, the day felt absolutely PERFECT! From the decorations to the service of the venue's staff, and Ruthanne and Ericka checking in on me throughout the day. I am so happy that we chose Kiln Creek as the venue for our wedding! A 10/10 experience!

We are so happy we chose Brandermill for our wedding reception! It was affordable price for a very beautiful venue. We had never been to a country club and were originally thinking more "barn wedding," but Brandermill was actually much more convenient and affordable. And with 3 walls of windows and an outdoor pavilion, it still felt a little "outdoorsy" while also still being very elegant and sophisticated--the best of both worlds. We had lots of options as far as times, food, drinks, etc., which was very nice. We were able to host about 100 people in the ballroom with plenty of room to dance. Brandermill was the easiest vendor we dealt with. Molly is AMAZING! She responded to all of our questions via email quickly & thoroughly and was very accommodating with our requests for what we wanted. My husband (the groom) has severe dietary restrictions, and they were accommodating with that as well. Speaking of, the food was SO good! Molly and her team did an excellent job in the lead up and on the day of our wedding, taking care of every detail! Everything ran very smoothly and we really felt taken care of. The reception was beautiful, we had a great time, and we are very grateful!! P.S. To preface this, I want to mention that I worked in the events industry for 9 years at a very busy venue, on top of having spent over a decade in the theatre. So when I went into the wedding planning process 18 months before my wedding I had VERY specific ideas of what I was looking for and for the people I wanted involved. Ford's Colony met and exceeded those expectations by a mile. Kristen was warm and very detail oriented, and we clicked right away as I began the planning process with them. Then I met Natalie and WOW! She takes what she does seriously, pays SO much attention to every detail and genuinely cares about her clients. She also knows all the best spots to take the photographers too! The food was delicious, the bartenders friendly and poured a good drink, and all of the staff were inviting, kind, professional and helpful beyond measure. Given that this was a same-sex wedding, it was also very important to me to find a venue that was open minded and drama-free. Not once did I ever feel I got a sideways glance or odd look from anyone at Ford's Colony. The entire staff of the venue couldn't have been kinder, even when we over-ran their bar for pictures before they opened! No wedding is complete without its share of minor heart stopping moments, and ours was no different. But Natalie and Ford's Colony were professionalism itself from start to finish and never said "Oh no!" The only response to ANYTHING from them was "Ok, and this is what we are going to do." When I saw Natalie PERSONALLY trying to resew and fix the zipper on the DJ's dress after it broke before the ceremony I was floored, and KNEW I had chosen the right place. Many venues are beautiful, have amazing food, quality staff and a great feel. ONLY Ford's Colony and Natalie can and will deliver that, but SO much more. They have heart and passion for both what they do and the people they work with as well as their clients.

They’d soooo much I can say about James River Country Club 10 out of 10 definitely recommend we pick the spot because of the breathtaking view of a private beach that they have and then the inside is just a incredible as the outside it gives very elegant vibes and then the food TOP Notch I’m not a mushroom person but that mushroom ravioli, oh my God, best freaking thing I’ve had on top of all their other great choices of food that we picked for our dinner we had some of the best staff from Jo,Kristen,Rick and Conrad thanks for making my vision come to life

I cannot rave enough about Greencroft Club. I was blown away by the staff at Greencroft, who made sure we had the best rehearsal dinner and wedding ever. The food was fabulous and there was fantastic service at the bar. Our wedding was outside under the beautiful oak tree and our reception was in a tent outside. The tree is stunning in fall and made for the most beautiful backdrop for our ceremony. Finally, Katy Kirby, our venue coordinator, was an absolute rockstar. She took care of every detail, all trouble-shooting, and put us totally at ease. Amid the overpriced wineries and estates, the Greencroft Club is a total hidden gem!

Megan & the Estate of Independence staff are exactly what you want for you big day! I cannot thank her enough for making our big day PERFECT. From day 1 she has been amazing & had every step ready for us. They were amazing when accommodating our handicap family & guests. Everything from the rehearsal dinner to the day of was everything we wanted. Independence has an amazing menu to choose from. The bridal suite upstairs was such a fun place to hang out and get ready. The balcony was perfect to walk out on and gaze over to the ceremony site. The grounds create the most perfect pictures for lifetime memories. We have only heard great things from our family & guests as well. One of the biggest perks for me was Megan's day of demeanor and how she made sure I was happy and had everything we needed. 5 stars truly is not enough for Megan, her staff, and Independence.

Working with the team at Colonial Heritage was such a pleasure! Corey and his team are kind, flexible, organized, and helped us implement our wedding day vision perfectly! We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

We held our wedding at The Club at Glenmore in Spring 2025, and we were so happy with Glenmore as a venue! We were looking for a close-to-all-inclusive venue to minimize how many different vendors we'd need to work with, and we were so glad to find that in Glenmore. We were especially happy with the events manager, Kim Hayden, and the serving staff. Kim stayed in close communication with us and our wedding coordinators from booking to the end of our event, and she had a calm, caring demeanor throughout the wedding. When a guest had a minor medical emergency, Kim was discreet but responsive, quickly helping to ensure the guest was able to rest and enjoy dinner in the cool clubhouse (it was a warm day!) after he had been checked out. She was a professional and fun presence throughout the process. The venue ensured our wedding was well-staffed, and we really enjoyed that everyone on the serving staff was so pleasant, friendly, and attentive. We also had great feedback from our guests about the food. Chef Frederick hit it out of the park with all of our dishes, and he was so flexible for guests' dietary needs. We were impressed with how well everything was cooked even with a buffet style meal and truly did get a lot of compliments from guests about the meal. We went with the Pavilion for our reception, with our ceremony on the 10th Tee and our cocktail hour in the green space between. The space ended up being really perfect for us - throughout cocktail hour and the reception, guests were on the dance floor or resting in the Pavilion, seated around the two fire pits in adirondack chairs, playing yard games, or checking out the nice view of the green, so there was something for everyone and plenty of space for our guests to enjoy. We would choose to work with Glenmore again if we could go back in time! Definitely a crowd-pleasing venue with a lot to offer.

The Dominion Club and its amazing wedding coordinator, Desirae, brought our wedding dreams to life for the most magical day! I can’t recommend this venue and team enough. From beginning, middle, and end, we were so well taken care of on such a personal level. The attention to detail, provided seating, linens, cake stand, card box, and perfectly cooked wedding meals, The Dominion Club enables you to bring your wedding vision to life in a seamless way. The gratitude I have towards Desirae, Hope, and the rest of the team at Dominion Club is overwhelming. We were guided and supported each step of our engagement and the wedding day was executed beyond my expectations. THANK YOU DOMINION CLUB!!! We will forever cherish our beautiful day with you!
