It’s the view

They’d soooo much I can say about James River Country Club 10 out of 10 definitely recommend we pick the spot because of the breathtaking view of a private beach that they have and then the inside is just a incredible as the outside it gives very elegant vibes and then the food TOP Notch I’m not a mushroom person but that mushroom ravioli, oh my God, best freaking thing I’ve had on top of all their other great choices of food that we picked for our dinner we had some of the best staff from Jo,Kristen,Rick and Conrad thanks for making my vision come to life

I love the options of indoor ceremony, lawn ceremony, and even beach ceremony. Tiffanie is so amazing at everything she does and has the best eye for detail in ensuring all scheduled activities go as planned and that the food is top-notch! Great experience

We had an amazing experience here at JRCC. Everything was amazing,Kristin was a pleasure to work with, and the wedding planning process was stress free thanks to her. The food was delicious and we had so many options to choose from.Kristin stayed on top of everything from start to finish. I was truly happy and so thankful we found this venue. Everything was PERFECT😊

Our wedding at the James River Country Club last month was a fairy tale day. The venue is beautiful and was even more so on the day of our wedding! It overlooks the James River which I loved and the building has historic charm which my husband loved. We worked with Natasha and she was great - very easy to work with, hardworking and ensured that everything was how we wanted it on our special day. We held the ceremony outside overlooking the James River (we were blessed with the most perfect weather!), the cocktail hour just behind the ceremony site and dinner/reception inside. Everything flowed with ease during the day. The guys were able to golf the morning of the wedding and had a blast and mentioned the locker rooms are very nice! The food is delicious! We got SO many compliments on the venue from our family and friends. Thank you!!

With my wedding being in November, we chose to hold the ceremony indoors by the fireplace. Our guests thought the venue was so beautiful, and there were many areas for them to explore between events. (They do provide outdoor areas under a tree on a small hillside, or on their beach.)
There is also a very spacious, furnished room adjacent to the women's bathroom. This provided a wonderful area for the ceremony preparation and small group socializing after the reception was cleaned up.
The JRCC also catered our reception. We received so many compliments about the food for days after the wedding. The room in which we held the reception had large windows overlooking the beachside. It was a wonderful view for everyone. Parents were able to keep an easy eye on the kids who ended up heading outdoors.

I really enjoyed having the reception at the JRCC. We worked with Jason and he was so nice. I got so many compliments on the quality of food and look of the site. They were great. My only complaint is that we ran out of champagne, which I specifically requested. Also, we went in to iron the linens, a gesture I thought was nice considering we didn't ask them to do it. The staff there (probably summer staff) were not very polite and actually a little impatient as I ironed linens for 17 tables. Aside from that, it was a great party. The site is beautiful. My only recommendation is to close the bar about 1/2 early, just for safety. It helps to get people to leave, something we had a hard time doing.

As always the JRCC delivered. Easiest and most classic reception venue in the Hampton Roads area. and of course, the food was delicious!

A gorgeous location for a reception, on the James River. The food was better than I thought it was going to be. The venue was setup correctly and everything ran smoothly.

The down side is you have a member sponsor you in order to use the venue.

The James River Country Club is absolutely gorgeous but the head banquet manager was not a delight to work with. The golf course was under construction and on the day of my wedding, he told me that I could not have pictures taken where I was promised that I could months before.
