We first heard about this venue in the comments of a wedding website post, and as someone who works at a local government-adjacent organization I was immediately interested. While we did check out some of the other county-owned venues, Rockwood Manor was perfect for our needs. The venue itself was gorgeous, and best of all it had a ton of on-site lodging for guests, which was important as both of our families would need to travel. It was also more affordable than literally any of the other venues we looked at, and we got a discount as county residents! I knew we were in good hands the minute I showed up for the tour - not only was Lucy an absolute delight as a guide, but she knew the venue and procedures inside and out and was incredible helpful in getting us situated. We decided to rent the venue for the whole weekend, and that was SUPER helpful as we were able to have the rehearsal dinner/Halloween party on-site, which saved us a shitload of time and money. On the big day itself, everything went very smoothly! With most of the guests onsite already we didn't need to arrange for transportation, and my now-wife and I were super comfortable in the bridal suite. Meghan at the front desk also saved my ass by letting me use the printer to re-print some last-minute changes to my vows! With a fire pit onsite we were also able to continue the fun with bonfires after each event, and Harry did a great job of keeping us stocked with wood. The checkout process was super easy, and we REALLY appreciated being able to relax the day after the wedding instead of scrambling to clean up and get out. All in all, we could not have picked a better venue for our wedding! The only caveat I have is that you'll probably want to hire or designate a wedding planner (or at least day-of coordinator) to stay on top of the paperwork, as the venue's administrative capacity is somewhat limited due to their small staff. Lucy, Meghan, Harry, and Sandy, you are all absolute rockstars and we will be forever grateful for your hard work in making our wedding unforgettable! Thank you so much!!

The William F. Bolger Center is a “hidden gem” of a venue in Potomac, MD. On 43 acres of gorgeous grounds, there is a beautiful area for an outdoor wedding, as well as two halls for indoor weddings/receptions. In May, 2022, we used the “Stained Glass Hall” for the wedding and the reception, and it was fantastic. This venue worked especially well because we had quite a few out of town guests. The Bolger has over 400 comfortable rooms that can be put into a discounted block for wedding guests on the wedding weekend. The cafeteria has much variety. The buildings are a bit old fashioned (somewhat like the older hotels in the big national parks), and very well maintained which adds to the charm. It feels like stepping back to the 50's or 60's and is a lot of fun. The reception food is fantastic! We could give our guests a choice of three entrees which were all delicious. Vegetarian options were available for hors d'oeuvres and entrees. Bolger allowed us to pay for drinks consumed (lots of non-drinkers in our families) which was more economical. Staff were helpful and the wedding/reception went smoothly. Sarah, the onsite coordinator, answered questions quickly and professionally and contributed a lot to “making the trains run on time”. She interacted with family members and friends doing various tasks in a helpful and professional manner. Compared to other venues in the area, we got a lot of value for our money. And, after two months we are still happily together!

Rockwood Manor was the PERFECT venue for our wedding. We chose the three-day resort package, which meant we had access to the manor as well as all the lodging areas throughout the weekend. My entire family was able to sleep in the hotel-style cottages, and guests who didn't want to drive home after the wedding crashed in the cabins on Saturday night. We also were able to use the manor house for the rehearsal dinner on Friday, as well as a Sunday breakfast for those who stayed on-site. For all the was included, the pricing for this facility was very reasonable! Our ceremony was outdoors on the terrace, and the wooded backdrop was gorgeous. We took advantage of the fine fall weather and did cocktail hour outside as well. We served dinner downstairs in Brooke Hall and the Great Falls rooms, which accommodated our 135 guests just fine. After-dinner dancing and cake happened in the Rapidian Room and adjacent upstairs rooms. The different areas of the house worked really well for all our wedding activities. And later in the evening, we lit a fire in the campfire ring, which everyone loved! Leading up to the wedding, I always had an easy time getting staff on the phone (usually Marsha and Rob) to answer any questions and coordinate any details, and the staff on-site on the weekend of the wedding were great (Donelle and Tina). I really appreciated the fact that they were there to help when we needed it, but I never felt like they were breathing down our necks. For us, seriously, this was the PERFECT venue!

I always wanted to have my wedding at TPC Potomac, and my wedding day was beyond my wildest dreams. I can't say enough great things to say about TPC Potomac! Kati was wonderful to work with from start to finish and made everything so easy! From our initial meeting to the food tasting to the wedding day, Kati and the team at TPC went above and beyond and always made me, my husband, and our guests feel special and taken care of. They handle the food (which is delicious), table arrangements, chairs, linens, and more. It made wedding planning as stress-free as I think it could have possibly been. The views from the patio are also beautiful. Several guests said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to!
