We stayed with this vendor when we got engaged, and fell in love with the historic hotel and the beautiful vistas surrounding it. When planning for our wedding, we wanted a historic venue that didn't have ties to slavery, which is difficult in Virginia, as many of the most beautiful venues are or once were plantation houses. We kept coming back to the Mimslyn, and eventually decided they'd be perfect for us. Our main contact was Ryann, who above all else was professional, kind, courteous, and resolved every single issue we ever brought to her without complaint. During our engagement, the hotel changed ownership, which we believe was the main source of any issues we encountered. These might not affect future events at this hotel, but we experienced growing pains with their website and booking, resulting in many guests having issues accessing the Room Block that we had set up for them. Ryann was great and fixed these problems so that they created no issues for our guests. The hotel staff was also incredibly warm and kind to us, and seemed thrilled whenever we spoke with them. The chef met with us personally and helped us coordinate the dinner, which was delicious and was exactly on time. It was the best wedding food we've ever had by far. There was an unfortunate heat wave that affected our very outdoor wedding. With less than a week to go, the hotel and our coordinators came up with a plan and restructured the ceremony to be indoors. This could not have been an easy task, and likely required a lot more work and stress for all involved, but you wouldn't know it by the way they professionally handled everything the day of. Despite our issues with the hotel side of things (which were again resolved thanks to Ryann being the best), everything was beautiful and perfect the day of our wedding. We are happy with the choice we made, and are grateful for everything they did for us.

We had a fantastic experience at Shawnee Farms and with Katherine especially. Our family stayed for 4 nights, we had the ceremony in Luray caverns and reception in the barn of the Shawnee Farms Estate. The rooms were beautiful and beds comfortable. Kitchen was really awesome for hosting a lot of people and preparing some wedding snacks, also the master bedroom upstairs is a lovely place to prepare for your big day and have some photos taken. Katherine was so helpful and communicative. She went above and beyond to help us make our day the perfect day it was.

Faithbrooke was the perfect venue for our wedding! After being discouraged by other venue’s outrageous prices and lack of professionalism, Faithbrooke was a breath of fresh air. We instantly fell in love with the place. Stunning views of the blue ridge mountains and and the vines on property, combined with the beautifully updated patio and barn took our breath away. We used very minimal decor because the venue is already so lovely outside and inside. The owners, Cort and Steve, had answers to all our questions and were very knowledgeable and flexible. They made us feel comfortable, confident, and excited about having our wedding there. Over the next year of planning they helped us anytime we needed. As a bonus, their brand new (and gorgeous!) tasting room, The Vintage Barrel, opened up just in time for us to host our rehearsal there! Our wedding was beautiful and lovely, and Faithbrooke was the perfect setting for it. Thank you Cort and Steve! We can’t wait to visit the tasting room the next time we are in Luray!

You cannot go wrong with this venue. First of all, the venue itself is breathtaking. I’m not kidding when I say some of our photos look photoshopped, the backdrops from every angle are truly that gorgeous. I think it is impossible to get a bad photo at this venue. But the main reason that we loved this venue is the owners- Diane and her husband Tom. From the first time we visited, it felt like Diane was on our team. She truly went above and beyond to make our day special. From little things like making sure she had our timeline should something happen with our coordinator, to lending items, suggesting things based on past weddings, adding lights to the lawn so we could use our games at night, and even helping solve personal problems that arose. I warned every vendor that my mom would spend the whole night running around and trying to do everything that needed doing, but after our wedding she told me that she loved Diane and needed to leave her a review herself because she could truly sit down and relax. That’s how on top of everything Diane is. She truly paid attention to every single detail and took responsibility of so many things that went above and beyond. If you’re considering Stoneyman Valley Ranch, just do it! You will not regret it. *Didn’t attach photos since we saw a small gallery below from our wedding :)

Big Oak Ranch is amazing! A historic barn with incredible views and onsite accommodations? Jen is so friendly and amazing to work with. Dusk to Dawn Events can wait to coordinate weddings there!

I'm writing from the perspective of a bridesmaid – Corina and Linda are a dynamic team that really do put together a perfect package for any wedding. I’d suggest this venue for any bride/bridal party. Our time spent at Khimaira Farm was relaxing and so much fun. We could really focus on our bride -- they had everything else taken care of!

Shenandoah Woods was our dream wedding venue - and it delivered! The covered, open-air pavilion is the perfect reception venue, and it also makes for a rain contingency site for the gorgeous outdoor ceremony site. The mountain and sunset views from the pavilion are amazing, and our guests raved about the beauty of the location. We also loved that our guests had the option to book cabins on the property and use the shuttle service to get to and from their accommodations on our wedding day. Jason was a very professional, communicative, and supportive throughout the planning process. We plan to visit his cabins again in the future to remember our amazing day!

The Grieves’ work and dedication to creating such a beautiful venue and atmosphere is incredible and evident! We even hired Christina Grieves as our day of wedding coordinator and it was amazing to get to know and work with her and her husband, Wes! They are so friendly, understanding, accommodating and supportive with their suggestions! They work so hard to bring your vision to life and even exceed the expectations! They take the stress off of you as a bride and believe in making it YOUR day not anyone else’s. Events here are top notch with the mountains in the back and a beautiful barn set up with a great team who’s got your back. They are punctual, great with communication and personable. They will get the job done and will take pride in doing so. Worth every penny even though reasonably priced compared to surrounding areas with the best service and quality friendly people! We loved working with Stover hall!
