The most gorgeous historical site turned glam right on the Patuxent River
This location is not only absolutely stunning but it is so full of history and the owners are eager to keep the history alive and known for all guests. I stayed there the night before with my bridesmaids and we had everything we could ever need. The owners, Jeff and Claudinne, were extremely accommodating for anything we needed. Getting ready in the bridal suite was like something in a movie. The room is set up for several girls to get ready at the same time and makes for elegant bridal photos. The groomsmen were able to get ready at the exact same time, downstairs in the same place. The decor is perfect for the groomsmen as well, very old time style, complete with an antique pool table and bar set up. Not only is the inside of Susannah's Watch beautiful, but the outside completes the package. The land is stunning and it is directly across from the Patuxent River. We took photos outside and they turned out so beautiful. I cannot recommend this Bed and Breakfast enough. The owners are friendly and accommodating, the building is rich in history and stunning, and the land is vast and exquisite. There are plenty of photo opportunities all over the property. You will not be disappointed!Sent on 11/28/2020

Jeff and Claudinne Miller
The current care-takers and owners of the Dixon Family Farm and Susannah’s Watch B&B are Jeff and Claudinne Miller. Jeff’s mom’s maiden name was Dixon, and the house and farm have been in the family for many generations, going all the way back to Susannah (Bennett) Lowe in 1700.
Jeff and Claudinne were working and living in Europe when Jeff’s mother passed away just three years and one day after Jeff’s father suddenly passed away. The family home and farm were not doing well without proper care and maintenance, and things were breaking with only a couple of trips Stateside from Germany every year.
In October 2019 we decided it was time to move back to the States and dive head first into a new adventure; farming and innkeeping. Jeff has a Ph.d, and 23 years in the USMC as a combat engineer. In his current job he responds to international disasters for USAID/OFDA. Claudinne has some web and marketing skills, and is currently adjunct faculty at Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine. We are new to farming and Innkeeping, but with all of our experience this should be easy, right? Follow our adventures on our blog!
