This venue is the most gorgeous place you can possibly get married. We stayed the whole weekend which was so relaxing for getting ready purposes. Isadora and her team made everything flow effortlessly and we didn’t have to lift a finger decorating. The views are amazing and you have so many options for ceremony and cocktail hour sites.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Rixey Manor! Choosing to have our wedding there was one of the best decisions we made. It was truly an unforgettable venue that had everything we could have dreamed of and more!

From the moment we booked, Isadora and Grace were amazing—accommodating, knowledgeable, extremely responsive, and helpful answering any questions we had and offering much needed guidance. There’s no need for a separate wedding planner because they are an exceptional team! They provided excellent vendor recommendations, seamlessly coordinated every detail, and made the entire planning process feel manageable and smooth. They really thought of everything to make our wedding day unique and special!

We had the entire manor for the weekend, from Friday through Sunday, which included beautiful bedrooms where some of our family stayed and it felt so special that we could all stay together and celebrate. And the guest house where the groomsmen stayed and got ready was very helpful and so much fun! This made the experience feel like a full, immersive celebration. We held both our rehearsal dinner and welcome party at the manor, which made everything convenient for our guests and was the perfect way to start our wedding weekend.

Our ceremony was originally going to be outdoors in front of the manor, but rain forced us to move it to our tented reception area. Isadora and Grace handled this change in plans with such ease, ensuring that our wedding was still beautiful, stress-free, and magical—rain or shine. They quickly transitioned everything so our reception could also take place on the scenic patio, where elegant decorations and stunning views created the perfect atmosphere.

Rixey Manor is much more than just a beautiful venue. The manor itself is a treasure, with its ballroom, cozy library, fireplaces, and a charming rooftop veranda where guests can hang out and enjoy incredible views. It felt like a home away from home, but with all the elegance of a high-end venue. The staff, including the friendly and attentive bartending team, made us and our guests feel so special.

I got ready at the manor with my bridal party—15 bridesmaids, plus family members—and it was such a great experience! The team thought of everything and provided everything we needed to be prepared for the day. They were also great with children, helping our two flower girls feel welcome and comfortable.

If you are considering Rixey Manor for your wedding, absolutely book it! You will be taken care of every step of the way. You’ll be surrounded by stunning scenery and cared for by a team who genuinely wants your day to be perfect. What an amazing manor and grounds. I can't say enough how well the Rixey Manor estate, owner/manager Isadora and the manor staff helped coordinate and support my daughter's wedding and reception. Working under a very short time schedule and across three different time zones - my daughter stationed in Italy and then in Japan, myself in San Diego, and the wedding event in Virginia - all required dedication, flexibility, prompt responses and superior follow-up. Isadora and Grace communicated and worked seamlessly with all the wedding vendors, assuring a well-timed and beautiful wedding ceremony. Rixey Manor was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the very beginning, the communication with the staff was clear, straight-forward, and friendly, which made the planning process so much easier. Isadora, our wedding coordinator and venue owner, was experienced and wonderful to work with - she relieved so much of the stress leading up to and on the day of our wedding by coordinating with our vendors and keeping us up-to-date on any changes. Isadora even created a helpful handbook to guide us through the planning. If I could get married again, I would choose Rixey Manor in a heartbeat. The staff was always willing to communicate with my parents to ensure everyone was on the same page, and they handled every curveball we threw their way with ease. On the day of, I was so relaxed because I knew Isadora and the team had everything under control. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, and the overall value was wonderful. I highly recommend Rixey Manor to any couple planning their dream wedding.

We can't say enough good things about this venue. The manor is classic and timeless and was the perfect location for our wedding. The biggest draw to Rixey though, is the amazing and attentive staff. The Rixey team was there for us during every step throughout our whole wedding process and helped create our dream day. Each member of the team went above and beyond for us in order to make sure we enjoyed the day together. From helping us deal with other vendors throughout the whole weekend, to setting up all the decor, to helping me and my wife do up our bustles before the reception, they treated us with kindness and attentiveness and we felt so taken care of. As an LGBT+ couple we felt so safe and loved by the team that from the very first visit on the property we knew that this was the venue for us. Everyone who comes on to the property, whether it is a vendor or guest, can feel the professionalism and care that each team member has. This venue and it's amazing team will always have a special place in the hearts of my wife and I.

We had a great experience with Rixey and for the context of this review we had a 150 person wedding a 48 person rehearsal dinner and a 120 person welcome party all at the manor.

Isadora feels like your kind neighbor who lends you her home for your wedding. There is no “fine print” she is very upfront about what you can and can’t do and she really does let the world be your oyster. She always feels like you’re talking to a real person and not a sales person. She will not hound you about anything and really is good at just making sure the big parts are taken care of as you wish and then she fields the small stuff.

The venue is a blank canvas. For me this was the best and worst part. The best part was we could do anything. The worst part was we could do anything and your mind changes so much in a year and a half. The home was built in the 1800s and you can use it as is, or dress it up. Rixey was SO kind to let us decorate or take down what they had in the house to let us feel like everything felt more like us.

My goals/ priorities going into wedding weekend were:
1. Be with people as much as possible
2. Flexibility
3. Be able to stay on the premise/ friends and family stay with us
4. Not be limited to an xx-hour timeline for the whole weekend where all your things need to be in and out by strict times.
5. Bring own vendors & alcohol (This saved us THOUSANDS, probably 10s of thousands actually.)

Rixey really got us with the “basically it’s an Airbnb with a wedding venue attached” and honestly it felt like just that.

I had spreadsheets of venues from PA/ MD/DC/VA and Rixey was the only venue we could have Thursday- Sunday, bring in all our own vendors & sleep 12-18 people on the premises. (ideally, we wanted to have more people on the premises, but such place does not exist in our price range) Everywhere else that could house more people were resorts or hotels that got you stuck into vendor packages that ate up your wedding budget like it was an appetizer.

Isadora brought us in gave us some vendors she used in the past and liked. Some worked very well for us, others were not our style and that’s okay! She is not offended in the least. She was able to give us $, $$, or $$$ she does not have any incentive to push any vendor on you. She tells you who she likes and it’s up to you, if you use them.

Her helpers- she has extra sets of hands, who again feel like friends and family of hers that help your wedding weekend go as planned, from filling up water jugs, to tapping beers, setting up tables, cleaning off tables, dishes, boxing or unboxing stuff, giving out tips, making our bud vases. We literally just handed her the boxes of things on Thursday and they were all set up by Friday at the rehearsal dinner.

Rixey Manor was an absolute dream come true! My husband and I got married in July 2024 and their whole team was professional and personal from start to finish! We could not have imagined our best day happening anywhere else - from the small and intimate details of the house to the beautiful landscape surrounding it - it was a perfect oasis for what turned out to be a perfect day.

The entire team was focused on our vision for the day and worked closely with our vendors. We relied on their expertise through the entire wedding planning process and they are there to support you in all aspects of your marriage. We could not recommend them more and we are so grateful that Rixey Manor is forever part of our story.

We recently had our Indian-American fusion wedding at Rixey Manor, and it was beyond perfect! From the stunning grounds to the exceptional service (and even a double rainbow), every detail was beautifully executed. Where do I even begin?… The Rixey Manor team was the absolute best. I just got married there this week and it was a dream come true. The venue itself is gorgeous but the team at Rixey Manor is something so special. Isadora and Grace took away all of the stress me and my now husband had. They made me feel so cared for and so important. They went above and beyond to make me, my husband & our families feel like royalty. Everyone kept mentioning to us how impressed they were at how professional and thoughtful Isadora and Grace are.
Isadora made sure that I felt important and helped me with absolutely everything that day. She completely took charge of the day and all me and my husband had to do was show up.
My 2nd dress strap kept breaking and Isadora was always there fixing it and she always did it graciously.
I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people on my wedding day.
The Rixey team is honestly a bunch of very special people who genuinely love what they do and they show so much love to the bride and groom. I also want to add that they were so attentive, caring and helpful when it came to my parents who both have a disability.

We had our wedding at Rixey Manor this past weekend and experienced nothing but joy. For our Welcome Party on Friday night, we had another venue cancel last minute, but when we called Isadora she had the Manor decorated and ready to go when we got there! When there are so many stressors that can surround a wedding weekend, it was nice to know that one of those never had to be our venue or our vendors.
