Couples are welcome to host their ceremony, cocktail hour and reception at this flexible and country-style ranch. The venue also welcomes couples hosting bridal showers and engagement parties.
This 1950s Greek Revival home was once inhabited by Lady Ellen Thompson, presumed ghostwriter of the romance novel, Lorna Doone. It was purchased by Ellen and her husband, Professor Herbert Thompson, in 1874. They purchased the manor from John Brown, who used discarded wooden railroad rails for the rafters and joists in building the house’s framing.

I knew I wanted my wedding at an outdoor location and I never dreamed of a property so gorgeous. All of my guests were in awe of how I found this venue. It has so many backdrops and it created the perfect setting for our photographs. You really need to see it to understand how beautiful it is.
Aside from this venue's perfect looks, the owner Debbie is a joy to work with. Between emailing her questions, to wanting to view the property again to get ideas, she made me feel as if I was the only bride she had to accommodate throughout my entire planning process. Believe it or not, not everything always goes perfectly in the planning leading up to your big day. I had a last minute change I had to make that might stress a lot of brides out, but Debbie was so understanding and willing to be flexible that it made everything easy for me and still made for an absolutely perfect day. It shows how much she cares about making sure all of her couples are happy. On the day of the wedding, my dad and a couple other family members were at the property dropping things off and making sure everything was being delivered and set up. They could not have said enough nice things about Debbie and how accommodating, helpful and welcoming she was. She certainly went above and beyond!
I don't doubt that this will soon be one of the most popular venues in the area and you'd be missing out if you don't consider Glen Ellen Farm for your wedding or event! :)

Perfect Place for Our Fall Wedding
We absolutely LOVED having our wedding at Glen Ellen Farm! The scenery is gorgeous and there are so many places for the guests to hang out and soak up the night. From the barn ruins (our favorite part!), to the lake to the manor house - so much GORGEOUS in one place.

Glen Ellen Farm is gorgeous, meticulously maintained and well-run wedding venue. The owner Deb is wonderful from the first tour to all the detailed emails to acting as host on your special day. My husband and I visited other venues in the Frederick County area, but as soon as we walked on to this property, we were blown away. From the barn ruin area, beach to tent, every inch of this property is stunning. Deb works so hard to maintain a gorgeous location with details including fresh flowers, beautiful string lights and gorgeous farmhouse. Deb and her staff are attentive, caring and easy to work with. During our entire wedding experience, my husband and I felt that Deb was just as excited for our day as we were. If you are looking for your dream venue, look no further than Glen Ellen. Its beauty, care and management are truly unmatched!
Glen Ellen Farm is an amazingly beautiful venue that is sure to become a household name in wedding venues in the Frederick area. I worked with Debbie as a coordinator for the first wedding on this property in September and she is so amenable and easy to work with. She takes such care in every aspect of the property and with developing a relationship with the wedding couple. I am looking forward to working with Debbie for many more weddings in the years to come.
