Let me preface this review by saying that this is an INCREDIBLY scenic location, picturesque, and we do not regret holding the wedding here for that reason. Also, if new management were to take control of the wedding side of this business, a lot would change. However, our experience was as follows:Sent on 07/10/2015
Quality of service--Terrible, but got better on site, once we were dealing with the wedding coordinator's assistant, Jen who was awesome and their transportation director Mike, who was also great.
Responsiveness--until the weekend of our event when Jen stepped onto the scene it could be weeks and multiple requests before we received responses to basic questions. I am not a bridezilla (please note, we had our wedding outdoors in july, with gnats and portapotties...) however, responsiveness was so bad that one month out, we pulled the wedding coordinator from handling ANY of our rentals and asked our caterer to do it (tent, tables, chairs, etc). We just were not confident that she could handle even this basic piece.
Professionalism--what was most striking about dealing with piney ridge was how obvious it was to us and to others how little the wedding event coordinator wanted to do her job. If I wrote an email with three questions, I was lucky to get a response to one. Once I asked for pricing on a tent, and it was 18 days and more than one email that finally got a response.
Value--the venue is beautiful. we paid $1,590 for it. But honestly, I think that was too much given how little else was involved. The site is missing some basic features, like bathrooms on site (even state parks offer this--and the area in front of the ceremony is not graded in a way that you can place chairs easily. They also handled shuttles to our wedding from harpers ferry, this was reasonable.
Flexibility--they were flexible, mainly because they had to be at the last minute. However, we did appreciate how Jen and Mike, worked with us on our shuttle options.
