Newbieee alert! =)...Save the Date Etiquette

Hello ladies,

I'm a newbie on this site and will be getting married on 4th of July weekend of next year so I am currently working on my save the dates. My question is, I know that when mailing invitations you aren't supposed to use labels for the addresses but is it okay to use labels for the save the dates? Thanks!

I believe that is acceptable. When my sister got married she did it that way and it was fine. Just go the extra mile and make the lettering elegant and the stamps just as special.

I think it's ok to use labels even for wedding invitations. Most wedding invitations I've gotten have been with labels, even the fancy weddings, and ours had labels too. So, that said, it is TOTALLY fine to use labels for your STDs, and it is NOT worth the time and trouble to handwrite them all. NOBODY cares about the envelope. Do not waste hours of your life on something that will end up in the trash anyway!

LOL... didnt even think of such things.
I'm getting married next June and I'm sending mine out with our Christmas cards this year.
May be tacky.... but oh well.

I think labels will be just fine. Try to find the clear ones!

Save the Dates are actually a new trend. Ask your mother if she sent out save the dates and I guarantee she will say no. :) They can be as formal or as casual as you want them to be. No one will ever notice if you used labels.
Congrats and Best Wishes!

I agree with everyone above. As whatcircaDesigns mentioned, make sure you find the clear labels that are compatable to your printer. Also, choose an nice elegant font. I think you will be pleased with the finished product. Good Luck!

Does anyone really care HOW the envelopes are addressed? Does anyone REALLY look down their nose at a friend or family member who used a label on an envelope? I know *I* don't. I want to know who made this rule and why it matters?
.
And I think if someone wanted to trash me in the family christmas letter because I used labels on my invites, I'd figure out a way to cut them from the guest list .... why would I want to hang out with someone like that anyway?
.
(But I tend to take the smarta$$ approach to things!) :-)
