I had a wonderful experience each time I visited them. You cannot find prices as great as the ones here anywhere else. The quality is great.I was impressed by it and was the first place I went to to find a dress.

Although I loved my experience at Promise, I had to give low ratings because of the fact they closed down. The way I found out was through email and luckily I already had my dress, but all my alterations weren't finished. I had to contact their seamstress personally and finish all the alterations. It was a bit of a hassle, but I do feel sad they had to shut down. It was a great shop.

I went to a few bridal shops but once I walked into Promises and met Corey I knew this is where I wanted to buy my dress and I did. My dress was my favorite part of my wedding and Promises made this happen. They were so down to earth and beyond helpful when it came to questions and concerns. If you want quailty in a relaxed professional environment at more than reasonable prices this is where you must look.

Promise for the Savvy Bride was perfect for me: beautiful dresses, a relaxed atmosphere, and expert staff who know what they're doing and make the whole process easy and stress-free. I tried other stores and was turned off by pressure tactics and attitude, but I knew Promise was different the minute I walked through the door. It's tucked in an out-of-the-way side street in Bethesda but it's definitely worth the trip -- this is where I'm sending all my girlfriends when it's their turn to shop for their bridal dress!

Unfortunately my experience was not very good. I noticed my dress had been burned by a steamer a week before I was to leave for my destination wedding. The shop was very helpful in making sure the dress got fixed, and they ensured me it would be flawless. My fiance went to pick up the dress and one of the consultants told him they hadn't even looked at the dress yet and let him take it! Not very good customer service in my opinion... When my fiance brought it home I could definitely tell it had been messed with. It did not look the same. To make matters worse, I went in for my last fitting three weeks before the wedding. I was told by the same consultant who burned my dress not to come in for anymore fittings because it would be impossible for me to lose enough weight to make a difference in three weeks. The consultant was wrong! I ended up with a dress that was too big on my wedding day. I literally didn't even have to unbotton it to get it on and off. After we completed our vowels my husband raised my hand up and I thought it was going to fall down. I don't like giving a bad review based on one girl's mistakes but it was my wedding day, and the dress was not cheap!

Promise was great in that they made special arrangements with a vendor they don't normally carry in order to provide the dress I was looking for. They were friendly, flexible and always pleasant. My one complaint relates to alterations of a strappless bra they assured me would be no problem. The back of my dress was very low cut and I asked whether they thought I could even wear a bra. They assured me it was no problem and that their seamstress could alter it without any difficulty. Unfortunately, she forgot to alter it the first time which required me to return for a second final fitting appointment. (Less than ideal a week and a half before my wedding.) The alterations made the bra practically worthless. By removing so much of the back, it provided no support at all. Unfortunately, at that point it was too late to go without as all of the alterations had been measured to accomodate a bra underneath. Worst of all, within 2 hours of putting the dress on the day of my wedding, several inches of the bra was visible. And that was despite having used double sided fashion tape to attach it to the dress. I'm not sure if the dress began to slide down or if the bra rode up. Either way, any picture of my back during the ceremony displays 2 inches of the bra... I ended up having to take it off for the reception and deal with a loose dress rather than have the bra showing the entire time. Needless to say, given what I paid for the dress and alterations, I was very disappointed that such a huge imperfection was so noticable during my ceremony. What was most upsetting is that I had specifically raised this concern early in the fitting and they assured me it wouldn't be a problem.

I became a big fan of Promise, especially after visiting several other retail wedding dress stores. The atmosphere was so much more comfortable and less formal/stuffy than many of the places I visited, yet the quality of the dresses and the level of service were much, much higher. So, for me, it was the perfect combination! I always enjoyed my time there, and feel like I got to know the staff quite well and vice versa. Two thumbs definately way up.

I thought Promise was exceptional! Great service! Kori was especially helpful and nice. I had to cancel/reschedule a couple times and she was very accommodating. I love how attentive and honest she was during the fittings- I always felt like I was in good hands. If I could make one suggestion, it would be with the alterations. I had a complicated bustle on my dress and when I asked if they did numbering/color coding, they said I wouldn't need it. It turned out to be a big headache on the wedding day and made me wish I had insisted on it during the fitting.

Promise is a lovely boutique. It's not stuffy, like some of the better dress shops that I visited, and it's not warehouse-y like some of the supermarket-type dress shops that I visited. It is intimate and comfortable and I was treated like a long awaited and appreciated guest. The staff was very gracious and flexible, giving me an appointment with less than 24 hours notice. They were very patient with me while I tried on dress after dress, and then left without making any decision, and then came back again later and tried on a few more dresses.
Tania was a dream to work with, like a best friend or beloved sister. She made me feel that she was truly excited when I found my dress. Tania really listened to me when I discussed the type of dress I wanted and what I definitely didn't want (something the staff at one of the very exclusive shops didn't do). She gave me very sound advice about subjects that were and weren't dress related. I really appreciated not being pressured to buy a veil - or even try one on - something that I was adamant about. Instead, without any direction on their part, just playing on mine (in their wonderful accessory drawers) I found a brooch that I was able to re-fashion into a hair ornament, along with a smaller matching sash pin. Win/win! I felt like the most beautiful bride, but not fussy and uncomfortable. I felt like myself, but like the best self that I could possibly be.

I absolutely loved Promise for the savvy bride and would recommend them to anybody. They listened to me and really understood what I was looking for. Their selection is small, and certainly pricey, but the atmosphere and their attention -- calm, low-key, always friendly, and so easy-going -- made it worth it for me. I found a fantastic gown and looked forward to all my fittings because they are so professional and friendly (and certainly different from the few other shops I went to first). I worked with Tania, who is great, but everyone I encountered there was awesome. Two thumbs up!

Promise... for the savvy bride is a small, personal boutique that is willing to go above and beyond to accommodate every bride. It was so simple and extremely enjoyable working with them to find the dress of my dreams. They were so wonderful that I purchased all of my bridesmaids dress with them! I have recommended several other brides and they too have enjoyed working with Promise.
