Wedding Dresses and Gowns in McLean

Went to the Durham, NC store and worked with the sweet employees there over a number of visits. Found the perfect dress for my beach ceremony.

My experience with Haute Curry was honestly my favorite part of wedding planning! Anu truly made my vision come to life from every bead, pearl, and crystal down to the exact color. Every detail my husband and I envisioned for our wedding lehengas and sherwanis came out perfectly. She also had beautiful dresses and lehengas for my mother and our friends and family. In addition to her excellent work, working with Anu was a dream. She made the designing experience fun and enjoyable, and her communication was consistent and clear. By the end of the process, Anu truly felt like family. She was so compassionate, honest, and helpful. Anu's passion shows through her relationships with clients and her fantastic work of customized designing and one-of-a-kind bridal wear!

I purchased my wedding gown, veil, and earrings from The Bridal Room, and also had my alterations done there. I completed an online form before my first appointment, and several of the dresses I had indicated I liked on their website were waiting for me to try on. There were plenty of things for me to try on as a plus-size bride. The consultant had me try those on first and narrow it down to a couple favorites, and I also took a look through their racks. When I chose my dress, I also tried on several veils - I didn't decide on the veil at my first appointment, but they wrote down my favorites for me so I could try them again later. When I went to pick up my dress, I looked again at veils and selected one that was new since my first visit. I also purchased earrings at this appointment. When my veil and earrings arrived at the store, they were able to hold them for me until my first fitting appointment. When I came for alterations, I explained what I wanted done and the seamstress pinned the dress and answered all my questions. The final result was perfect!

I thought finding the grooms suit would be the easy part, but boy was I wrong. We first tried rentals and nothing fit well for my husband. We then decided we would buy, but didn’t want to spend a ton on something he may never where again. I was set on a light grey with a colorful tie, and it was very hard to find! One day as a last resort we stumbled into Charles Tyrwhitt, and upon walking in I saw the tie from afar and knew that was the one and it was available in a matching bow tie which was pretty uncommon elsewhere. Then we said “well let’s just hold it up against a white shirt”, the white shirt was tucked into a grey suite, and everything just fell into place from there. We were able to purchase the pants as a separate for the groomsmen so they didn’t need to purchase an entire suit. We basically got everything from there and the staff was super friendly and helpful.
