Yes to the custom dress
My name is Erykah Hatch, and I am the owner of AmErykahh LLC. I am not going to write a unbiased review because this is my company. I am going to write a honest review so that anyone reading our reviews gets a full scope of my company, and my capabilities.
I went to Marymount University and received my BA in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising. I used to work in bridal for three years prior to starting my own company. I have modeled, tried on, and made multiple wedding gowns all through out this time. In 2020 I got engaged right before the pandemic hit. We wanted to wait to have our wedding, so that everyone we wanted to be there could make it.
I was originally going to get a custom wedding dress from another designer, but i thought what kind of designer, owner, and example would i be if i didn't do it myself. So I took on the challenge of making my dream dress, without knowing fully what I originally wanted. Working in bridal and trying on different looks almost every week didn't help me decide on what i wanted, it just added new ideas, however it did help me choose a neckline, silhouette, and help me learn what i didn't like on my figure. However, what I did know, was that I wanted a cape.
My wedding was set on October 14th 2023. My best friend was also getting married a week before my wedding and she had asked me to make her gown as well. So i thought, okay I can defiantly get two dresses done before September. January of 2023 I started planning out the friend's gown, by February-March sketches, mood boards, and all other renderings was completed and approved. In April I had a fashion show for my newest bridal line in Arlington, Virginia and I had just started cutting her gown fabric.
By Summer we had both of our first and second fitting. During this time my gown was half way done, and I decided to do more. If there is one thing you will get to know about me is that I am EXTRA and I love putting a spin on things, so I decided to make myself a second look for my reception. By August-September we had both of our third and final fittings. Her gown was 100% completed before October even began and I brought her gown to their wedding in Richmond, Va.
In a matter of 8 months I was able to have a fashion show, complete 2 bridal gowns, and a reception look. I hope that as you are reading you are able to grasp my capabilities as a designer and business owner. I hope you can see how hard I work to cater to be the best for my company and to you as the bride. Here at AmErykahh we are strive to be every bride's best friend!
