I worked with Shannon for my wedding dress alterations and it was an amazing experience! She not only made me look perfect, but she was flexible with my demanding schedule as I planned an out of state wedding! I hate to give poor reviews, but at the urging of several friends and as a warning to future brides, I must say this was the worst experience of my bridal prep process.

The studio is a mess with glitter, feathers, and threads all over the floor, and her children were present, running around making noise with food in their hands, at several of the 5 fittings I ultimately had to do. My mom found some of my appliqués just sitting discarded in a high windowsill, and there was a black feather in my dress at one point.

Day-of, we discovered two yellow-tipped pins still stuck in my dress (I stabbed myself with the first one while fluffing my gown pre-ceremony which prompted us to look for others), my boob cup fell out (threads had snapped or were never attached) on one side half-way through the event, one of my sleeve’s appliqué came off and was dangling during my first-dance (which was only an hour into the wedding celebration), the boning on the left side of my dress was poking through pre-ceremony, and I ended up with a gnarly, bleeding scratch under my arm, and my bustles (despite us “pinching” the hooks like she said to) constantly came loose during the evening. The bust part was not well-fitted at all…my boobs we’re not snug in my gown, but we had been in Fredericksburg for the fitting for almost 4hrs at that point and had to go home.

The day I arrived to pick up my dress, it was nowhere near completed, and at the second “pick-up” which was the week prior to my wedding, she still had pins in it and had us come back 2hrs later for yet another fitting. This alteration was beyond stressful and cost $1100. She is not very cheery or warm either which you would expect from someone doing an intimate, luxury service.
