The Sheraton Suites and staff, especially Jo Melissa (sales & catering), worked very hard to ensure our special day was well-prepared in advance, paying attention to all of the little details. They were also incredibly competitive in their pricing (we wanted plated dinners, but were on a tight budget, which we got). Their linens and decor are quite modern, as the hotel was completely upgraded in 2010. The rooms are all suites and REALLY nice, as are the room rates. What stands out the most about this vendor is their willingness to basically do whatever you want or need done. And, they were were polite and enjoyable at all times. I was also very pleased that they allowed the Cocktail Hour to start 30 minutes earlier than booked (minus the open bar we paid for, which kicked in immediately at 6 pm, the designated time in our contract). As they had the reception food tables set up and guests were arriving immediately after the church ceremony, they took good care of them, even before they legally had to! The only (small) complaints that I had were there were some problems with their Room Block procedure regarding booking on the website, the blocked rate agreement timeline and tagging the hotel wedding guests for the complimentary parking and welcome bags. I think this will probably be worked out soon, but I would address this with Jo Melissa when you book. I had to make a few calls to get it straightened out on the day of the wedding, as guests were encountering problems when they were checking in. The food was not as good as the meal we had during our tasting, but they also had to cook for 100 people for plated dinners. It was by no means bad, just not as savory as the tasting plates we sampled Again, hardly anything to complain about. We looked at all of the hotel reception sites in Old Town Alexandria and Sheraton Suites was by far the best value since (we paid for the wedding ourselves). Very nice hotel, DEFINITELY worth a look-see if you are getting married in Old Town.

The Sheraton Suites made every effort to produce a wonderful wedding reception. The staff really cared about making sure the guests and especially the wedding party had all their needs fulfilled. They run a first class operation.

We were looking for a hotel that was relatively close to the ceremony site and that had a warm and fun feel to it. We would highly recommend the Sheraton Suites. Jo Melissa, the hotel wedding coordinator was wonderful to work with prior to and the day of the wedding. She always had a smile, was available whenever we needed, introduced us to the staff who would be working with us, and was helpful in planning the many details of the reception. All of the staff helped to coordinate a special event which made it possible for me to simply relax and enjoy the day!
Our guests felt welcomed and at home as soon as they walked into the hotel. We were blessed by the space, the staff, the ambiance, and the food that the hotel provided.

I searched for an elegant and contemporary hotel that was close to Washington DC. I was wed in Washington DC and the reception was in VA. The catering manager's name was Maurice. (He is no longer with the Sheraton) He was accommodating and flexible. He worked with my husband's mood and made the planning and execution easy. The cost was above our budget, but metropolitan area of Washington DC is expensive. I'm glad I went with the Old Town Sheraton.
