Hotel Wedding Venues in Washington

As a wedding planner, I rarely have the opportunity to write a hotel review, but I was invited to a vendor networking event at the new Royal Sonesta Capitol Hill. There is nothing better than a new hotel; everything was gorgeous. The space, décor, and the ambiance were elegant and inviting. And the execution of the event itself was impressive. It was obvious that every detail was meticulously planned. The event started with a one-hour reception in the Work Suite where we were treated to an array of passed hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Everything was delicious and meticulously prepared, but what really set the tone was the violinist. I think her name was Tiffany and she was magnificent! Afterwards, we received a proper hotel tour. I expected everything to be beautiful and sophisticated—and it was—but what surprised me was the spaciousness of the rooms. One of the most common complaints I hear about hotels in the city is about the standard room size. I hope this suggests a trend towards larger rooms for new hotels. After the tour, we were invited to the penthouse level for a four-course dinner. We were served salads, scallops, duck and, to end, the Chef put on a little show for us, he flambeed crepe suzette before our very eyes. Stellar! We were also gifted macaroons with our company logos printed on them. As for the venue itself, when my clients describe having a view of the city as a backdrop, this is the view they describe. The photo does not do it justice, it was breathtaking in person. We could see the Washington monument and Union Station from the penthouse. There was an expansive terrace as well, but it started to rain later in the evening, so we had to keep the party inside. Shoutout to the venue manager, Anais, for her exceptional hospitality and dedication to creating unforgettable moments. I have worked with her for 5+ years and she’s not only flexible, responsive, and (alarmingly) attentive to details, but she is always over prepared, and she makes everything easy for everyone on the day of. Congratulations to her and the entire team… just wow.

We got married in the fall of 2024 at the Omni Shoreham and it truly was a beautiful venue. We selected the Omni because of the outdoor spaces, the ease of having food & beverage through the same people as the venue, and our love of the back garden for the ceremony. We chose the blue room for our reception, which was a great space and felt separate from the rest of the hotel. Omni does all the catering and bar services in house which made things simple for us -- the food was amazing (we still have guests tell us how good it was)! Omni will try to upsell you parts of their package so definitely keep an eye on what items are in the base package and what upgrades will cost. With that in mind though, all of the Omni staff, chef included, will work with you on figuring things out that might not be technically in their offerings -- just ask and they will help figure something out! The only hiccup we had is that Omni's in house event coordinator ended up leaving part of the way through our wedding planning process. It was a bit difficult to get a new point of contact from Omni and even through our wedding they had not hired a full time replacement. Because of this there was a little chaos in the planning and coordination but overall I would highly recommend Omni as a venue!

My wife and I celebrated our wedding at The Watergate Hotel and we loved it! Our reception was at Moretti Terrace and our reception was at the Library and they even gave us discounts for our guests to stay at the hotel. The food, drinks, and service were amazing and everyone had a great time. We had a couples massage the next day and our guests enjoyed the pool and sauna. It was the best weekend of our lives, we had a fantastic time.

The staff and the catering manager at the Embassy Suites were a joy to work with. Everything was beautiful and our guest had a great time. I can't wait to go back for our Five-year anniversary celebration.

We had a wonderful experience with our rehearsal dinner and welcome party in the Carina Room at the Line! The event production staff worked closely with us to create a custom buffet that exactly fit our needs. They were extremely responsive and provided an excellent customer service experience. The banquet captain and her staff did a wonderful job executing the event. Our guests loved the start to the wedding weekend here. Highly recommend events here!

We had such a great experience working with the Westin Georgetown team. The pictures online do not do this venue justice, it is absolutely stunning and it’s great to have the flexibility of different spaces to hold different parts of the wedding. We were very lucky with the weather on our special day and were able to use the courtyard, which was gorgeous and our guests could not stop commenting on how beautiful the hotel and spaces were. We really enjoyed working with Jordan and her team. The food was excellent. We appreciated the chef’s willingness to work with us on some special guest requests and the service was impeccable! The value was amazing and we would highly recommend to anyone consider considering! The presidential suite was also a perfect place to get ready and made us feel like superstars. 10/10!

I had a small 25 person wedding at Swann House in April and had a wonderful experience. Meg and Christine were so helpful in making my day a success. Not to mention how beautiful and chic the Swann House is on its own. I did not need to add any decorations. Would recommend to any bride 💓

As soon as we visited, it was pretty clear that The Tabard Inn was the right place for us to get married. The attentive staff, great restaurant on-site, and distinct decor made it ideal for our wedding of 45 people. Daniel, the Director of Catering and Community Liaison, worked closely with us to iron out details from start to finish at every level and to tailor the experience to us; he was truly essential to our wedding day. Because Tabard is majority employee-owned, there’s a lot of flexibility in customizing the experience without a lot of red tape. We booked the patio for the ceremony and rooms 24 and 26 for the reception.We didn’t even need to get a wedding cake since dessert was included in the three-course plated dinner. The Tabard staff was very efficient in the setup and in moving from room to room. The waiters and bartenders were all very personable and professional, and the whole evening flowed very easily for us. We look forward to going back to the Tabard for dinners on special nights and for brunches.

The perfect hosts and setting for our intimate wedding! The Darcy ensured that our wedding was incredible, and they blew us away! Mia Thoresen, The Darcy's sensational Senior Catering Sales Manager, listened attentively and patiently to deliver a truly memorable experience for us and our 80 guests. All phases of our wedding took place at the venue (welcome reception, ceremony, happy hour, brunch) and working with Mia was so easy and relaxed. The Darcy was very flexible and accommodating on the many details and decisions, from food, to timing, to venue, to guest housing. We are so thankful to Mia and The Darcy for helping us curate and deliver the wedding of our dreams!
