We design and coordinate weddings and events in Los Angeles since 2002. As many of our banquets had been organic or from local farmers, it was a natural next step to launch Green Weddings &Events in 2005 aside of Angelica Weihs Events. The green trend expanded over the years with many fun offers and ideas from letter press recycled paper invitations over peace silk wedding dresses to colorful menues. Even if most of our weddings are not green from A to Z, many couples like to show their appreciation for the planet by implementing something eco cool, be it the heirloom wedding ring, the vegan brides maids shoes or an organic Dulce de Leche cookie symbolizing ther honeymoon trip to Argentina. We realized that "green" changed the way many couples look at their celebrations: rather than trying to create lavish events just for looks or to impress with luxury, couples ask for meaningful ceremonies and reception that become a gift for everybody: family and friends, community and the planet we live on. After Blake and Stephen's amazingly creative country fair wedding reception for 500 guests in Bel Air last year with strolling entertainers, petting zoo for the kids, organic street food, many surprises and lots of dancing, the doubtful groom who has visited more weddngs and parties than some of us in a whole life time, was besides himself that he actually " had a blast at my own wedding". Blake and Stephen did exactly what they wanted; to give their guests an unusual, exciting (and a tiny bit educational) day they would not forget. They created their event from the heart, which also meant to follow their passion for being as eco observant as possible. It took us months of creative planning and when meaning and aesthetics finally became one, we saw the joy of our process in every little detail. "What does it matter to us?" has become an inspiring question for many of our brides and yes, the happily planning grooms, resulting in orginality and innovation. With many years of experience and lots of passion for our unique, "real" events we assist couples with the creation of a heartfelt wedding day or weekend, where the path to the date is as amazing as the event itself.
