    Beautiful but Pricey

When you're planning a large wedding (250+ people for a seated dinner) in D.C. we realized your reception space options shrink immediately to a handful of places. And, if you're like us, and you don't want to do the standard hotel ballroom, it's even smaller. If you don't want to do anything political/government related, it gets again even smaller. So, we zeroed in on Dock 5 pretty quickly. The space was industrial, sleek and empty -- meaning you need to bring everything in. And, I mean everything -- think extra power for that awesome band you hired, tables and chairs, bathroom amenities, bars, a kitchen! So my one recommendation is hire a wedding planner if you choose this venue, you'll thank yourself later and it will be well worth the money. But don't forget this jacks up the already outrageous price of this venue. Most venues (like those ballrooms) come with tables, chairs, silverware, etc. This place doesn't. So take that into account. All in all, our wedding turned out absolutely stunning. We were blown away. And, the venue was kind enough to let us head up to the roof for some photos that I'm sure I'll cherish until the end of days (unfortunately they're building a new Capitals rink on-top of the building so don't know how long this will be an option).
