We live in Nashville, Tn & our daughter married December 1 2012. She has been out of college a year & works full time & travels quite a bit with her job. She also bakes wedding cakes in her spare time. She knew, however, with her work schedule, time would not allow her to bake & decorate her own wedding cake, but at the same time, she wanted her guests to eat cake made by her, since she was known for making cakes. We immediately began researching what other options were available,. We found a local vendor who rented cakes & thought we had our problem solved. It did not take long to figure out she was not the answer! As MOB, and having more free time than our daughter, I immediately began checking w/other local vendors, but was unsuccessful. One night I was surfing the web for wedding stuff in general, and I stumbled upon FunCake Rentals. I was SOOOO excited as I looked at website & could not wait to contact them, which I did next day. I sent an email & got an immediate response from the owner, Kimberly Aya. Right then, I knew then our problem was solved! Talking & emailing KImberly was an ABSOLUTE DELIGHT! She is so professional, knowledgeable & helpful on "all things cake related!" She answered any questions I had right away & was always courteous & friendly. It is very obvious from working with her for past 10 months she loves what she does. Although she is in Michigan and I am in Tennessee, the fact that we never met never hindered her from getting the job done & our daughter was THRILLED when she saw the cake! It was STUNNING & so real looking. The added bonus was since Kimberly did the custom fake cake with all the intricate designs, it allowed our daughter to make 6 different varieties of sheet cakes for her wedding guests to eat! It was indeed a perfect fit! We even had her to make a custom fake groom's cake, in shape of a bass fish, which we purchased and is now admired by everyone who sees it. We ended up choosing a fake cake because I really wanted this big, extravagant cake however due to my budget constraints and our only having 75 guests, a real cake like the one i'd been dreaming of, would have been crazy. The cake was beautiful and our guests could not believe it wasn't real. I was happy we ended up choosing a cake from FunCakes Rental. I will be recommending you guys!

My husband and I had heard of bakeries that do fake cakes, but we weren't crazy about their prices or the fact that most make you buy their sheet cakes for a hefty price. Fun cakes rental was perfect for us! We were able to have a beautiful elegant cake and still be able to do the whole cake cutting tradition (each fake cake has a trap door to put real cake) and you seriously cannot tell that it's fake! We served our own sheet cakes since we weren't tied into a bakery contract, so we ended up saving a lot of money! Kim at funcakes was easy to work with and we would highly recommend using this company for your wedding cake!

I won't lie - I hated the idea of renting a cake at first. After we started shopping around and learned what wedding cake actually costs, we decided to go with Fun Cakes. After this experience, I can honestly and enthusiastically say that cake rental is the way to go!
Kim at Fun Cakes is extremely responsive and does beautiful work. No one at our wedding imagined that our cake was fake (unless we told them, of course). Delivery was prompt and as promised and we saved $600 versus a traditional wedding cake!

Dealing with Kimberly was an absolute pleasure ! I had seen a cake and feel madly in love with it's design and had contacted her to see if it could be re made for my Marie Antoinette birthday celebration. She was beyond professional and contacted me right away with information , pricing and a contract to fill out. Months after placing my order it was time to recieve my long awaited customized cake design and as I begun to un pack it I was falling madly in love with the cake all over again ! It was more than I could have imagined it would be, it was an exact replica of the picture I had send perhaps even better that I had to call Kimberly my self just moments after un packing the cake to thank her and to compliment her amazing work ! Kimberley's professionalism and devotion in her work is outstanding as a result, I highly recommend her and have already created another customized cake : )

Let me say that I was really hesitant at first when I found cake stands for rent on the internet. Who actually does that? Well Kimberly does and she does it with the greatest of ease. The stand was delivered to my door in time for the 50th birthday celebration and all the packaging and return label was ready to be shipped back to the vendor with the greatest of ease via Fed EX. Thank you Kimberly for saving the birthday celebration and let me say the cake stand looked GORGEOUS!!!

I live in Texas and got married in Michigan. I found Kimberly at Fun Cakes through other bridal websites and after reading great reviews, I contacted her. Planning a long distance wedding is very difficult, but Kimberly made it so much easier.

She went out of her way to meet with me and my parents when I was back in town and always maintained contact by sending photos of her work progression though emails and phone calls. She is very honest and based on her experience will tell you what will and will not look right.

While planning, I sent her photos of a couple of different cakes that I loved and she helped me create my dream cake at a great price. I am still receiving compliments on how beautiful the cake was and no one but my fiance and parents knew that it was not real.

She also dropped off the cake to my venue before the ceremony. It was so nice to not have to worry about that with everything else that is happening leading up to your big day. I would definitely recommend Fun Cakes! You can have a beautiful, stunning cake and not pay thousands of dollars for it!

Rent a cake! This is an amazing way to save money while still having a gorgeous cake!

Kimberly is AMAZING and a delight to work with. When I first met her, even before we started talking cakes we somehow got to talking and found out a lot about each other. I really enjoyed how personal and yet professional she was. She let me look through her store and showed me a ton of different cakes and gave me honest opinions about each of them. In the end I got a very unique cake that cost my MUCH less than it would have if I'd gotten a real one! No one knew the difference, and I got so many comments on how unique the cake was. I got the centerpiece cake I had dreamed about without breaking the bake to get it!

Kimberly at Fun Cake Rental is a pleasure to work with.... She's always there to answer your questions and will help you come up with a cake of your dreams.... She's awesome and I highly recommend FunCake Rentals!!! For a fraction of the cost for a cake you always dream of having.... it's worth it! Kimberly was awesome!! I had a cake in mind and everyone local wanted an arm and an leg to design it for me.... talked to Kimberly and she was excited to make my cake! She was easy to talk to and a pleasure to work with!!! My cake turned out to be gorgeous and everyone couldn't stop talking about how beautiful it was!

I was actually looking online for different cake places and found this on my google search. After watching (I think) the Today show, I saw Kimberly from Fun Cake Rental and they mentioned she was from Grandville, MI (where I am also from). I thought this was SO cool. I went to her shop and was just absolutely blown away. I got an already made cake and she just edited a few things about it. White four tier cake with little "diamonds" and a lavender bow on it. When it got to my house I was absolutely blown away! I couldn't stop looking at it. I got tons of compliments at the wedding and "omgoodness those cakes are so expensive" ...little did they know it was fake and didn't even compare in cost to the others! It was all I could do to get my caterer to not cut it up and try serving it- I think I told them four times it wasn't real! Loved it and working with Kim was awesome...would recommend her to anyone.

I wanted a movie quality looking cake at a students budget and Kim at Fun Cakes did that for us! We got so many compliments on the cake and no one had any idea it was fake. It looks great in our pictures too!

I wanted to have a nice cake but like every other bride, we were on a budget. I also wanted to serve ice cream cake for our wedding but also wanted a cake that I have always envisioned. Kim with Fun Cakes was just the answer to our prayers! She was great! Responded right away, accommodated our requests and I appreciated her honesty. She also ordered custom-made cake stand for us (the silver stand was just so elegant) as well as monogram. When I found my cake, I felt like the bride in 'Say Yes to the Dress' and said 'This is my cake!'. It was elegant, stunning, everything that I was looking for. Kim was the first supplier to tell me that I don't need to worry, everything would be great and I will be a stunning bride. I admire that she cared so much coz she was not only concerned to rent her cakes but cared for the bride as well. Cant wait to show her the pictures/video of our cake cutting.
